I can't believe I forgot about the Skyway!

I thought it was a great ride.
I believe the reason it was a freebie, was because it was sponsored by Eastern Airlines.
Unlike today, back then few rides were sponsored. The ones that were did not require a ticket.

Ah, that makes sense!

Honestly I don't remember a darn thing about the ride--except for the song, of course--but I know we had a blast riding it over and over again back then!!
 
Where was the platform located where the cars did a roughly 90 degree turn to head into Fantasyland?

There was no intermediate platform, but there was a tower that I believe was in the Indy Speedway land where the turn was made.


As evidenced by the fact that in the old ticket book days, you didn't need a ticket to ride If You Had Wings. :rotfl2:

I believe Eastern Airlines, who sponsored the ride, INSISTED that no ticket was to be used.
