I have no idea when I will be able to do it, but just the idea excites me! It will probably be a few years, but I really want to do it!

My dream would be a long weekend (4 park days) staying at Contemporary, though a Food and Wine festival weekend at BC/YC would also be amazing.

I keep reading threads about adults traveling to Disney and I am so jealous. I know taking my kids in Sept will be absolutely amazing, but I would love for DH and I to have a trip of our own!

Best of both worlds = my kids are now adults and they still want to go, we have a blast on our trips!

Trips with them young were priceless but now our trips are so much fun.

That is very true! I cannot imagine how much fun it will be with grown up kids! Even a trip with teenagers will be a whole different type of fun than with little kids. Thanks for the reminder!

We've done three empty nester trips to WDW, one to Disneyland and our first cruise (Disney!) next year.
Our grown kids poke fun at us but Disney is just a great vacation whether or not the kids are along!

I have only been doing adults only ( only cause I didn't have kids till now) and even now I am not taking my son in Dec. He will just be 1 and to me not worth him going right now. So I am leaving him with my parents for the week we are in Disney. Heck even my parents thought about going with us but that would beat the whole idea of them babysitting while my husband and I go.

My husband and I are retired we have been taking adult only trips for a few years I can't tell you how wonderful it is not having to wait in lines for autographs we go on every ride since no children are complaining I don't like that ride it's boring we stop in shops take in all the beautiful window displays read all the windows on Main Street if a line is long we come back to it no timeline for us no more rope drops or long bus lines we arrive when we want and we stay late now our adult children want to join us we say No! go on your own this is our vacation LOL

We do several trips a year some with our adult daughters and some just us. Both are enjoyable in different ways. As adults we take time to unwind and get a little romance in sometimes. As the full gang we get adventurous with eating and rides and experience more of the things that the parks have to offer (tours/classes/etc...) than just the normal rides.

We have done 2 trips with just DH and myself. We went for the Halloween party for our anniversary and then the second week of Dec to see all the decorations. It was great. I love going with my kids (the are 18 & 21 now) but it is a whole different trip with just the two of us. We can not wait to do it again.

I was lucky enough to get a surprise long weekend birthday trip from DH last month with just the two of us and we had THE best time!!! Getting to stay deluxe at the Boardwalk (which I fell in love with!), spending all that time getting to really enjoy Epcot without my kids, and playing in the Magic Kingdom during EMH in the evenings was just magical. I love going with the kids but i'd take another adult trip in a hot minute!

Me too! DH and I were talking about it the other night. My dream trip would be Food and Wine, staying at the Boardwalk or Beach Club! It would be so awesome, maybe next year for our anniversary!

We are so excited about our honeymoon trip in Oct! I loved taking dd5 in May and I can't wait to again next year but I'm really looking forward to food and wine and touring the parks at our own pace.

DH took me on a surprise long weekend Universal trip without kids and we had a blast. They couldn't believe we would go without them, lol. Believe it kiddos! We haven't been to Disney without kids since we were engaged 20+ years ago. That's going to happen someday also.

I would love for DW and I to take an adults only trip for our 20th anniversary next year but I really don't think the kids will let us go without them. DS13 and DS4 love going to Disney so I don't think an adult only trip will happen until our 35th anniversary or so.

My DS is an adult now, we have been going at least every other year (sometimes every year) since he was 3, he is 35 now. While it was fun when he was little, it's much more fun now that he is grown. We introduced his wife to adult trips when they were engaged, she thought we were crazy when she learned we go so often. Now they own DVC. I've taken 2 solo trips and am gearing up for another during F&W, I love going solo as well since I really can do as I please.

My husband and I have loved our past adult-only trips. I look forward to the time when we can do F&W (which I've done with a friend), but he's a farmer, so fall...kind of a busy time for him.

We did this exact trip this past January, except we stayed at BLT. It was one of the most relaxing trips we've taken to WDW. We took the Keys to the Kingdom Tour, ate at some places we'd never been before, toured at a slower pace and just enjoyed being together.

Omg I tell my DH all the time that I would love to do a fall adults only trip. I really want to do F&W and the Halloween party. We probably won't until the kids are older though. They will be 8 and 4 soon. I think our first adult only time will be sending them to the child care one night so we can have a date night. We are going for December, but it's going to be so crowded with so much to see that I didn't plan a date night. Maybe next trip...lol

I also talk about a girls trip with me and a good friends who loves Disney. We'll see.

I just got back from a week long vacation with my entire family and some extended family (9 of us all together) including 2 kids and now my friend really wants to go hopefully end of 2016 so i'm really excited to do an adult/friend trip!
Not sure it will totally happen but it's exciting.

Kids are now 13 and 15 and so they go off on their own some in the park. And I really enjoy the time!!! I get to poke in gift shops they want no part of. We can just sit and have a cold drink and watch people passing by. We can sit through Hall of Presidents, yet again, with no one complaining! Not that I don't love being there with my kids--I really do and we have a great time! But everyone needs a little break from too much togetherness!

And I'll even go you one step further and I actually dream of a day I can do a SOLO trip! Leave DH home with the kids and be totally on my own. Nobody to look after, no one else to consider when scheduling, do what I want when I want! I'd especially love to do it in December to see all the decorations which none of my guys really care about. Maybe some day....
