I cannot wait to take an Adult Only trip!

Neither my sister nor I have children, and when I'm not going solo, we either go together, or with our parents!! Our parents definitely enjoy the Parks with us more now that we're well into adulthood; no having to manage sis's temper tantrums anymore ;) And we can enjoy some nice, quiet, "fancier" meals than we did when we were kids.

Excited to add to this thread since I just booked DH and I for 3 nights at Jambo and then 3 nights at Bay Lake for January - his first time at both (I stayed with DD during Princess Half in them)! We have two day hoppers and a MK ticket each to use. I would have liked to have booked during F&W or F&G, but we are short on our DVC points and the hoppers will expire (got them from a raffle).

He promises that he'll be happy to be on vacation with me, but I can't help but be a little worried that he may miss doing some of his favorite rides, since I don't do the coasters (except BTMRR and I can't wait to try 7DMT!) or Splash or ToT, or even TT anymore :sad2:.

I think it will be so nice to do what we want (though my kids were always troopers and got better with age :) ) and we are soooo due time alone! We were parents who almost never when on "date night" or did anything much without the 4 kids. And we have only experienced slight "teases" of empty-nest syndrome since we have one in college and the other 3 (all married within the past year!) kids have moved back in and out. Currently DD husband is at Marine boot camp, so her stay could be a while .

I have no idea when I will be able to do it, but just the idea excites me! It will probably be a few years, but I really want to do it!

My dream would be a long weekend (4 park days) staying at Contemporary, though a Food and Wine festival weekend at BC/YC would also be amazing.

I keep reading threads about adults traveling to Disney and I am so jealous. I know taking my kids in Sept will be absolutely amazing, but I would love for DH and I to have a trip of our own!

If you can manage it during the Epcot Food and Wine Festival, I would strongly urge to do so! We've been going to Disney ( well me as an adult, with my kids, I have been when *I* was a kid ) since 2002 when my kids were all little. Now my youngest is turning 17 this summer. We're definitely a "Disney Family". And during this time, we've had TWO opportunities to go just me and DW, and we've done so in October to take in the Halloween festivities, but more importantly, attend the Epcot Food and Wine festival. And it makes me jealous of the folks who live locally who can attend this event every year.

We are going on our first Adult only trip and every one in our family thinks we're NUTS! we get all kinds of comments like "don't you have something more important to spend that money on" etc. My DH and I have been looking forward to this trip forever! yes, my kids are plenty old enough to go out on their own if they were going but this is OUR time! looking forward to just moseying along at our own speed, looking at things we like, eating what we want etc. I'll miss the heck out of the kids....but I'll survive! We live in California so we've had season passes to Disney land for 20 years...the kids have also been to Disney world 3 times. I'm trying not to feel guilty about this trip!

And I'll even go you one step further and I actually dream of a day I can do a SOLO trip! Leave DH home with the kids and be totally on my own. Nobody to look after, no one else to consider when scheduling, do what I want when I want! I'd especially love to do it in December to see all the decorations which none of my guys really care about. Maybe some day....

I had a one day solo trip this past April and it was AMAZING. I cannot imagine how relaxing a few days by myself would be. I am going to add this to my list of dreams.

Let me tell you. I have taken 2, and they are beyond awesome. Both with my best friend. I'm only 20, but it still counts! It's nice to have the freedom. Here's hoping you can take an adult trip soon ;)

I cannot wait to go on an adults only trip again. DH and I went for our honeymoon 3 years ago and had the best time! I joke with him all the time about doing a "just us" trip again, but we both say we will not go on vacation (especially to Disney) without them (unless they say they don't want to go).

Heck, I'm even looking forward to the trips when one is atleast 14 so they can go off an do stuff my themselves. The older the kids get, the more we have enjoyed each trip.

When we went last year on our first trip (just me and DH- we don't have children), we turned to each other at some point and said: "This is great, but it wouldn't be half as fun with kids in tow!" (I'm sure for parents, seeing your kids enjoy stuff is incredible, but for us... meh!) We loved enjoying things at our pace and doing what we wanted. :) You'll have a blast when you go adults only :)

I've done two empty nester trips to WDW and one to DL/CA. I highly recommend it. We even did a pre-park opening breakfast at Crystal Palace with Pooh and friends (DBF is not a princess fan). I felt like such a "kid" again.

I hear ya! When DH and I talked about going for our first time sans kids for our 25th anniversary (6 years from now!) my sister told me, "Couldn't you go somewhere better than Disney for that?" HA! We love Disney and haven't been there adults only style since 1999! Boy are we ready!

My husband I and did 4 trips just the two of us before we had our daughter. Well, the last trip we left her with grandma because she was only 1, and my rule is the kids have to be 2 to go to WDW! We've since taken our daughter 3 times, and although taking her is magical, I do miss our late, long leisurely dinners at signature restaurants, staying out until 2am at the parks, sleeping in and not doing rope drop. And not having to push a stroller or carry a bag! We may go just the two of us for a long weekend for our anniversary one year since it's during food and wine. Can't wait!

dw and I are going end of August for 3 nights at poly DVC. We haven't been without the kids since we were engaged in 2000

We were feeling guilty about leaving the kids so I made a second ressie to take kids. Figured this would give us a few days to decide which way we wanted to go

Got home last night and after the day my wife had with the kids she look d at me and said we are going no kids. Decision made! Lol

Have to book FP tomorrow. Can't wait!

Will probably be our one and only adults only trip until the kids go to college though. How much can you squeeze into 3 1/2 days? Lol

My sister dreamed of a solo trip for her 40th birthday, however she passed away when she was 39. I am now turning 40 in 2016.... and I really want to do a solo trip in honor of her. But, I kinda want someone with me to share in it. So I guess that's not really solo, but a fun adult trip with a best friend would be amazing!!!!!!!!!!!

We just went for the first time with DD4 this past May. DH and I are now planning a long weekend for our 10th anniversary in Sept 2016. Trying to figure out how we'll pull it off! So excited to think about strolling hand in hand, eating, drinking and not running to meet princesses and park stollers :) We loved our family trip but want to experience some of the adult attractions, too.

So sorry for your loss! It doesn't really matter if you are by yourself or with someone, you are going to celebrate her life and your 40th birthday! most of us are just going with our spouses etc. anyway! Go, have a wonderful time and remember all the wonderful times you had with her!

Boy do I know how you feel! we haven't been without kids since 1987! although if you want to put some blame on someone it's our fault because we love to go with them. we just finaly made the decision to go on our own.

My first trip was adults only! Three twenty-year old girls taking on the World, up at 7am and down at 2am, we did everything in every park, it was amazing. No time to waste for characters, nice, whine-free meals, and a lot of shopping! But now that I have a kid, it's great to see the World through her eyes too. I'm also excited about doing more and more stuff with her as she grows (she'll be 40" on our next trip!), but I admit that when she'll be an adult too, trips will probably be even better! ... and then she'll have a kid, and it'll be very Circle-of-Life-y. ;)

Going in October for my birthday, just DH and myself. Staying club level at the BWI.
Food and wine festival and Thursday night football at the ESPN. Cant wait

Our kids are grown now and off with their own families. We still do trips with them and they are great! But, to be honest, our alone trips are awesome! It's just a lot less stress. You don't have to get anyone else going for the day. No meeting up at certain times. No drama lol, not that we've had much but anyone can get cranky for a day. It's just much more relaxing with just the two of us. We do what we want when we want. Looking forward to our next trip with kids, not planned yet. Excited for our upcoming alone trip in October!
