Ok, so currently I have a 7-night supposed-to-be Eastern on the Wonder booked. We're still slated to go to St. Maarten and San Juan (and Castaway), but who knows.

I've also taken a really hard look at the Magic's 5-night MDAS out of Miami departing the same day with an itinerary of Miami - Sea Day - Grand Cayman - Sea Day - Castaway - Miami and am strongly considering that, but I cannot decide.

The Magic cruise is only about $600 less for an equivalent stateroom, so that's not a huge factor. Airfare to MCO or MIA are within less than $100 difference.

Wonder Pros: it would complete my Grand Slam, hotel in Orlando would be fewer Hilton Hhonors points (my dad is giving me a ton of his which is what I'll use for my pre-cruise stay in either Orlando or Miami), I could see friends the night before the cruise, I could check out Disney Springs since I haven't been there since the change from Downtown Disney

Magic Pros: I really loved the Magic last year; I love Carioca's and the rumor that it might get turned into Tiana's makes me sad and I'd like to experience it again; Grand Cayman is a new port to me; I love Miami; I have a couple more days wiggle room at the end in case of a flight delay OR if they ask for volunteers to give up a seat

Wonder Cons: I am really not a fan of the whole supper club vibe so am NOT looking forward to Tiana's - and I've already requested Triton's on night 1 so I can book Palo then because I hate that menu (and Cabanas really doesn't work for me for avoiding Tiana's as they took my least favorite items from the menus and mushed them into the Cabanas menu; still some uncertainty about where exactly we're going - San Juan is probably a go

Magic cons: Shorter cruise; I'm not the biggest Marvel fan but I do like Guardians and feel like I can tolerate the day ok (I love the menu as far as gluten-free options other than dessert) - so it's only a slight con; shorter cruise

So they pretty much balance each other out in terms of pros and cons.

Any thoughts from the hive mind?

Hi...

You need to complete the grand slam. I agree. I don't really know you, but given your level of knowledge and engagement here on the boards, you should really check that box...

Longer cruise = better, too!

Let us know.

I'd do the Wonder. Longer cruise, completes Grand Slam and, honestly, MDAS was just ok (though I'm not a huge fan, I was looking forward to it).

Go for The Wonder. We just got done with our 7 day Mexican Riviera and it was amazing. Ship is in great condition, crew, shows and dining were all fantastic. Plus.....Grand Slam is such a cool accomplishment.

I voted for Wonder, we're doing the same cruise except we're on the March 4 one. Since yours is before ours, I'm hoping to hear what you think about it. I wouldn't change based on the rumor of a restaurant changing, it could very well not be true. If you did change and then the rumor turned out to be false how would you feel? Either way, you know you'll have a great time.

Longer is always better! Your con is basically Tiana’s. Just skip it. Eat at Cabanas, Palo or just get some room service. Dinner is over in 2 hrs so it’s not that big of deal! And I think San Juan will be open and who knows about St Maarten. Maybe they will substitute.
But I agree with above poster who said you will regret it when you get off the Magic on the 5th night

I’m gluten-free so Room Sevice is a no-go. I usually bring Luna bars with me, so I could eat that I guess. (I attempted Cabanas once and it is a no-go as they picked the things I can’t or won’t eat from the menus and put them together.) Stinks to be on a cruise and have to resort to Luna bars though rather than a dining room. I just wish they had thought through that there are people who do NOT want a band playing while they eat.

My DH and I love Tangled so much, we would pick the Magic.

However, we have the Grand Slam under our belts. Dig deeper and pick the one your heart is telling you.

It is a great feeling of pride when you complete the grand slam -- I'd go for it.

I don't think the band plays the whole time anymore. I say go with the Wonder and at least try Tiana's....you may surprise yourself and enjoy it. No way I would eat Luna bars when there are beignets to be had!!! And I like Luna bars.

Another vote for the Wonder. 7 nights over 5 for only $600 more...even if you skip the MDR on Tiana's night. But maybe you could consider going to Tiana's just to say that you tried it and you could try a new menu. I agree that I wouldn't want to eat a luna bar for dinner on a cruise. Are there any GF options at the poolside places? Or maybe even splurge on a second Palo night?

Gluten-free equals no beignets. I didn’t like them when I had them in New Orleans before being gluten-free anyway. Gross things IMHO.
