I'm glad you've figured out something that makes you happy! I know you weren't enthused about many of the ports on the other cruises or having to put up with Star Wars or Marvel Day at Sea(the other itineraries you had been looking at over the past 6 mths).

Thanks to the new itineraries, I have a total flip the script decision!

THIS year I'm going to Disney World and doing a land-based vacation! Staying at AKL for 5 nights!!

Next year in April I'm going to do the Wonder 7-night Mexican Riviera on 4/21 - it won't matter that it's a blackout as it's outside of the 24 month period, so... YAY!!!!!!

I looooooved doing this itinerary last week! I hope you do too! :)

THANK YOU!! :D It is pretty much the same itinerary the Princess one had (I think it had Ensenada though), so throw in Disney and I was all YES PLEASE!!

And totally flipping my script, I’m using a TA for both my WDW Trip AND the cruise! The lack of all the control I’m used to will be good for me! (And keep me from changing my cabin once a day practically. Lol.)

(Did not read the 5 first pages before I comment:) Wait for two weeks before you make a change. There is a hurricane heading to Cayman.

(I love Grand Cayman and I am scared.)

All this time I thought it was the Jazz music not the itinerary. At least that was the reason a few pages ago.

It probably doesn’t help that Princess and the Frog is my least favorite Disney film (even beyond The Little Mermaid - that one for the message that you have to change everything about who you are for love) - probably because the one time I visited New Orleans was probably the worst vacation of my life, so.

Ariel sacrified one of her most precious "possession" in order to live the life she really wanted to live (it wasn't just about love). Listen to "Part of your world" it says it all.

Marriage and parenting do require a lot of sacrifices and changes. I haven't watched the movie but it doesn't sound that far off.

There's a big difference between compromise in a marriage and changing your entire personality and appearance to satisfy the person you want to date. I certainly wouldn't advise any of my kids that was a healthy way to start a relationship.

I know this is completely off topic BUT Ariel already wanted to be human before she met Erik. She had been collecting and hoarder stuff from humans for years, and it was her biggest dream to be part of their world and walk around on those things called legs.

Like I said I haven't watched the movie. Not a big fan of Disney movies in general. Not a big fan of a lot of things Disney promotes. I don't consider any of that when choosing a cruise.

And yet, so many teens loved the Twilight series, which was exactly about that... how useless and worthless she was until she met Edward and how he'd eventually dump her unless she became a vampire too. Stupid.

But I can't say that was my take-away from The Little Mermaid. I thought it was about taking a chance to find love and about a parent letting go. Then again, in the original, she doesn't get the guy and ends up turning into sea foam, so maybe you have a point, as her risk turns out to be foolish in the original.

Well that was a turn around for the books! Glad you have a decision made :thumbsup2

Yay. Sounds like you are perfectly happy now. I pick a cruise based on time and itinerary. Grand Slam isn't a goal of mine. It pretty much only has bragging rights here.

I'm glad you figured it all out! Yay! And getting to stay at AKL is a great alternative for that week.
