And remember, no one can prohibit you from subscribing to satellite service (except yourself) -- not your condo association; not your homeowners association; not your town or city or state. Federal law (OTARD) prohibits outright bans on satellite dishes, and only permits certain reasonable limitations.

I've heard the same thing about that company. OP, sorry this happened to you. Hopefully they get this resolved and they get in trouble for doing something like that!

I doubt that any large company has any deliberate plans along these lines... most likely scenario is a series of errors, and most folks who have patronized any of the mass-market service providers in recent years can attest to how readily they make mistakes these days.
