I Can See Epcot From Here! ~ A November Trip and Dining Report ~

:love:

What a perfectly perfect night! The whole day and then leading into the night (minus the funky not cooked right steak) but then the whole concert and ending with Illuminations...............:cloud9:

Perfect.

How special that your son got the guitar pick! I bet he is a Rick Springfield fan now.
The boys looked like they were having the time of their lives, dancing and having such a great time. How fun.

And that stalker chic---:rotfl: so funny. Some of those crazy 80's chics are a bit looney.:laughing:

(On a side note- are you watching Idol now that Steven Tyler is on it? Can I just say he is lookin gooooood to be a day older than dirt???:lovestruc No, no, I'm not a stalker at all......:rolleyes1 )

I think I'm gonna go download Jessie's Girl onto my Ipod so that I can sing it to the top of my lungs while I clean.

Um, okay, not clean. :confused:
um..... sit and DIS??????:surfweb:

::yes::

Your Days on your TR are headed to a close..... I'm so sad.:sad1:

It was a pretty awesome night! ::yes:: It just brought back all the wonderful memories when I posted it! :lovestruc

DS was so excited to get that guitar pick! He thought he was a super-star or something! :rotfl:

I did start watching Idol again last night, only because of Steven Tyler!! :cool1:

I am so sad that there are only 2 days left to report on too. :sad: I guess the TR will end just in time for me to start really planning the next trip. I get to make ADR's next month!!

It looks like you guys had a great night! I love Illuminations, It might be my favorite over Wishes.
Well, we have another snow day here...we are supposed to get about 10 inches today! The kids are thrilled to have a snow day, and I am happy to have the day off! Have a great weekend!

Thanks Lauren! :goodvibes It was a fantastic night.

Enjoy your day off!

I forgot how much I loved Rick Springfield! He was and still is ever soooooo dreamy! I watched the video and I felt like a teenager again.:laughing:
I am sure that you were glad that you decided to wait in the line so you could see the concert.

What a way to end your Epcot day.....a Rick Springfield concert and Illuminations! I can think of nothing better.

Jo: I'm watching Steven Tyler on American Idol and he is looking good!

I think I like Rick Springfield more now than I did back int he 80's!!! :rotfl: It was an awesome concert. Too short though.

At least we got one perk out of the F&WF! :thumbsup2

Just got all caught up on your TR! You have a wonderful family! Can't wait to read about the rest of the trip! Thanks for a great review of Kouzinna. My boyfriend and I can't wait to eat at an Iron Chef's restaurant!

What a magically magical night! :wizard: (Sorry, Jo, for borrowing from you ;)) Aren't you glad you didn't get out of line? Those were really good seats that you had - room to breathe and room to rock out! Isn't it funny how a simple thing like a little guitar pick is such a huge thing when it is from somebody famous? Your little man will always be a Rick Springfield fan! Both boys sure seemed to be having fun at their first concert! Your video and the Youtube videos were great - how cute was that little boy! I had to laugh when you mentioned growing up in the 80's. My kids grew up in the 80's! :rotfl2: (Well, they were born in the 80's) My crush growing up was Peter Frampton! :laughing: I saw him in concert 2 times. :love:

I love Illuminations! I could pass up Wishes and Fantasmic (having seen them other times) but I would have to see Illuminations on every trip. It just gives me chills every time.

I'm watching Idol this year, too. I usually watch it every year, but most of the time I don't see all the early auditions. I couldn't believe Steven Tyler is 62 years old! (a day older than dirt :rotfl2: Good one, Jo) I can laugh at that since I am a day younger than dirt. ;) Last night they were right down the road from me. Randy Jackson graduated from my DH's high school, and he has the yearbook that those pics of Randy the girl brought in were from.

Shelly, glad you got to keep the day off! :thumbsup2

:rotfl2:
Well being one of those 80's chics, my crush growing up was Slash. :faint: DH always says that scares him a little (DH is sooooo opposite of him:rotfl2:) but I always tell him that you just have to push the hair back to be able to judge.
:smokin:

Steven Tyler--- he actually is quite funny and I am enjoying his humor.:rolleyes1

:cool1:RICK:cool1:

Great time for all of you, your boys looked to have enjoyed themselves... what a first concert to remember.
Your Epcot day was great, nice to be so close at the BWI!

Thanks for helping my excitement and sharing your memories !

drakes-----

Have a wonderful trip!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

I cannot believe that your sons knew some of Rick Springfield's songs, that pretty good!

I bet when they tell their friends at school they went to their 1st rock concert, none of them will know who RS is! But, their teachers will be impressed! :laughing:

Y'all had some great seats, that's cool your DS was able to get a guitar pick!

Glad you are all caught up! :goodvibes

I hope you enjoy your meal at Kouzzina!

It was magically magical. ::yes:: I am so glad we didn't get out of line. We seriously almost got out of line and were going to try to go get a spot outside of the theater to try to see it that way.

That little William is so cute! We couldn't see him from where we were. I couldn't believe it when we found that on youtube!

Well at least I was born in the 70's, not the 80's like your kids! That makes you feel slightly younger, right? :rotfl:

I probably won't watch Idol the whole way through. I lost interest the year Chris Daughtry was cut when there were 4 weeks to go. I knew he would end up way more famous than whoever won!! I do like watching the beginning auditions. Some of those people are plain crazy! :crazy2: :laughing:

:rotfl2:

Slash :rotfl2: I forgot about your fascination with him!!

I am enjoying Steven Tyler too. He makes me think of my favorite Disney ride! :lovestruc

Hope you get the day off tommorow! I've barely worked all week, we were away Monday and I work from home on Wed. Today I had to go to my Grandmothers funeral, she passed away on Monday. She was not doing well, so it was a blessing, but today was very hard. Thanks all for taking my mind off it!

So sorry to hear about your Grandmother :hug:

I've been working on my Signature, trying to get my countdown right. We added the Disney Dream to our next trip!!!! SO excited!

How exciting is that going on the cruise,Congratulations. We watched the web cast of the christening the other day, DH said now I suppose you want to go on that?

I said Uh huh...........maybe we will get around to it one of these years. (I sent of the dvd for the cruise after the web cast) :thumbsup2

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What a great way to end up your day. Your DS(9) had to be tickled getting the guitar pick, how special was that :goodvibes
I am surprised that you got seats, when you were discribing the line I thought Oh No ................we did not get into the line to wait for seats when we went to the concert at the flower festival, stood outside for the first on then had found a spot over near Mexico maybe ? not sure but we could see and hear the concert right before IllumiNations off to our left. That was Paur Revere and the Raiders.
Hope someone good is there this year when we are there.
That was so cute with the little boy, too bad it was too dark to get your DS's dancing to Rick.
I love IllumiNations and it is so nice walking back afterwards, oh I so can not wait to stay at BC.
:cool1:RICK:cool1:
Joanne!!! :cool1: What are you doing here??? Aren't you going to Disney TODAY? :banana: Or is it tomorrow?
Well either way -- we sure will miss you around here! I hope you have a wonderful & magical trip to WDW. :wizard: And I hope you love CBR as much as we do!!
Yes, the kids had a blast. They sure won't ever forget that!
I cannot believe that your sons knew some of Rick Springfield's songs, that pretty good!
Oh yeah, they probably know almost all the words to most 80's songs!! Which isn't always a good thing. :rotfl:
DS9 so badly wanted to take the guitar pick to school and show everyone. I told him that he could but I didn't think it was a great idea, if he lost it we sure couldn't get a new one. And DS11 told him -- don't do that, someone will steal that for sure!! :laughing:
Oh that line was HUGE!! I was thinking we had not arrived near early enough. But it all worked out! :goodvibes
You are really going to enjoy the BC and being so close to Epcot! ::yes::
drakes-
have a safe and very magical time at Disney :goodvibes
Rick Springfield was one of my first rock concerts I ever went to too!! Yup, I am a child of the 70s and 80s.
It's so funny to go to concerts like this with bands from the 80s and watch all of us 40 something women swoon like teens! My DH works at an arena and he says we are the worst demographic group of fans! :laughing: Can't ever decide which shirt to buy etc.
A lot of those 80s bands are sort of popular again - my kids know quite a bit of that music and it's not all from me playing it!!
What a fun night! I love Illuminations too.
Yes, the kids had a blast. They sure won't ever forget that!
We leave at 2 AM tomorrow for the airport, I am not sure why the ticker counts that way :confused3, the other ticket counts the hours, minutes and seconds... I guess today doesn't count because we leave tomorrow? :confused:
What a great ending to your day! The concert sounds awesome and I love that your DS got the quitar pick. What a perfect place to go for your first rock concert - Disney!
Yep, there were plenty of women there in their 30's & 40's!! There were actually a lot of younger women there too in their early 20's. I was surprised!
It was a great night! :cool1:
2 AM!! :scared1: You better get to bed!! ::yes::
I hope you have a great time, I can't wait to hear all about it! :goodvibes
That's what I thought -- what a perfect place for the kids to experience their first rock concert!! :cool1:
It was pretty awesome for me to see an 80's concert in my favorite place! :lovestruc
What a great report, pics and video today Shelly! I know my wife and boys would have liked to see RS too - they are so into the 80's rock scene.
Drakes - have a great trip!
Happy Friday everyone!
Congrats on rocking out with Rick Springfield :rockband: Woo Hoo! I must admit that groupie lady was a bit creepy. :rolleyes1
Illuminations. My absolute favorite. :cloud9:
And Jo....tisk tisk...such language. :lmao: Never seen it with 44's before, usually it's with $$ I tuned into American Idol just for Mr. Tyler. He's probably old enough to be my dad but I couldn't resist.
A lot of those 80s bands are sort of popular again - my kids know quite a bit of that music and it's not all from me playing it!!
When my DD hears Journey's "Don't Stop Believin'", she says, "It's the "Bedtime Stories" song!" :laughing: Yep, that's the song from the closing credits. And all the kids know Aerosmith's "Dream On" from the closing credits of "Miracle". Disney movies include the occasional song from our era! :cool1:
Thanks to everyone for the well wishes over my grandmother!
Shelly, the concert looked great, so glad you didn't give up and leave. My DS7 and I have tickets to see Big Time Rush in July (they're coming to our state fair). My son is beside himself (of course they sell tickets to a concert mainly for kids 7 months early- poor things, that's a long time to wait!!)
So sad it's almost over. Start your PTR right away!
