I Can See Epcot From Here! ~ A November Trip and Dining Report ~

Anything that resembles a roller coaster , you might get me on it once but never ever again :rotfl:

One Big Chicken here

 DH is the same way!! But he doesn't seem to mind BTMRR for some reason. I wouldn't say he loves it or anything. :rotfl: But he definitely prefers it to RNRC!

After we took the raft back over from TSI we went to the Hall of Presidents. This was another new thing to us! The wait was about 15 minutes until the next show. While we waited we saw these guys outside.

Then we went in and sat down and waited. I looked at my phone and Jodi had called me back, but I had missed the call. So I listened to her voicemail. I was going to call her back, but I knew they would be opening the doors to the show soon, and we would want to gab way longer than that! Good thing I didn't call her, because soon it was time to go in!

They said no photography during the show, so I only got a few in the waiting area.

It was a very interesting and educational show. DS11 enjoyed it very much. I'm glad we finally got to see it.

Next up was the Haunted Mansion!! Or so I thought. DS11 said he didn't want to ride it. We all rode it last year for the very first time and loved it. We even went back on a few more times. Well, he now decides to tell us that it gave him bad dreams :confused3. . . DS9 said it didn't give him any bad dreams and he wanted to go on it!! So him and I went while DH and DS11 walked around and shopped.

The wait said 15 minutes, but it was more like 5. I didn't realize they were doing construction/refurbishment in this area as well. All the scenery while you wait was all covered up by big walls. So it wasn't very fun. The ride was still great though!

We met back up with DH & DS11 and it was now time for our Space Mountain fastpasses. DH and DS9 don't ride Space, so they went their own way and DS11 & I headed for Space. This was our first ride since the rehab. Seemed pretty much the same to me.

On our way there we saw more construction.

Then we saw these guys apparently going on break while they had a huge line of people waiting!

We finally made our way to Space and walked right through the fastpass line.

We rode once and it was great. But still rough. DS really wanted to go again. I really didn't. I can do those rides, just not always twice in a row. We still had 2 fastpasses. So I sent him through the fastpass line behind a family. I noticed the woman had on a big purple backpack, so I knew I would be able to spot her when she got off the ride. I told him to stay right behind them. It made me kind of nervous, but he is growing up. When he went alone on EE I could see him right up until he got on the ride. Of course I couldn't do that here.

After he entered the building I went to the gift shop and waited where you come out after the ride. I knew it could be awhile, so I decided to give Jodi a call back and she answered! We had a nice long chat. She updated me on all of you and the DIS! I told her all that had happened on the trip up until now. We talked for quite while and I told her I was starting to get worried about DS11. Just then the woman with the purple backpack came out and DS was not far behind her! I told Jodi I would call her in a few days and we said our goodbyes and DS & I headed out to find the rest of the family.

I gave the extra camera to DH when we split up and told him to take some pics. This is all I got!

Apparently they rode the TTA! I'm not sure what else they did.

When I called him to tell him we were done on Space he told me where they were. This is where I found them. DS9 was eating a bag of sour patch gummies.

So since DS was having a snack I thought it was time for a snack for me!!!

Up Next: Dole Whips and a parade!

 DH is the same way!! But he doesn't seem to mind BTMRR for some reason. I wouldn't say he loves it or anything. :rotfl: But he definitely prefers it to RNRC!

My DH is not a fan of roller coaster type rides but he likes BTMTRR, he says because your not all exposed being surrounded my the landscape of the ride.

It still goes fast and has too many drops etc for me :rotfl:

We all love Haunted Mansion although I almost broke my neck when we rode it in DL, walking on the moving sidewalk to the car just as I was about to hop on the car, everything stopped dead :scared1: I came close to going down :rotfl:

Then the following in year at WDW when DS:littleangel: and Ddil and her mom were on it there it broke down and they had to walk off and out of it :scared1: So now I have two things to worry about next time we go there

It is too bad DS(11) had nightmares from it cause it really is fun.

Space Mt :scared1:
The first time we went way back in '89 my DS's went on it together, while DH and I waited for them, DH has epilepsy and was afraid the darkness and flashing lights would trigger an episode for him. Well the boys came out and younger DS:littleangel: wanted to ride again , he was so hyped up, those daredevil kids are something else , well old DS did not want to go on again so soon so, I believed younger DS when he said it wasn't so bad and against my better judgement I went on it with him. I think I prayed an entire rosary during the ride and when it ended I was so upset I could not get the door open to climb out of the car, the attendant had to come over and open it for me, and getting out my legs were shaken quite badly, the CM took my elbow and was saying "Maam are you ok?" God the embrassment
Yep my first and last time ever riding Space Mt, lets just say I spent a lot of time waiting outside that ride during all our trips :lmao:

You are one brave woman Shelly, my hero to ride all the wild and fast rides!

Great update Shelly! I also have never seen Hall of Presidents. I think it would be pretty neat to check out. Next time for sure. :) Glad to hear the boys thought it was okay too.

I LOVE Haunted Mansion!!! Too bad the scenery was covered up though. I think that makes the ride more fun.

I'm like you; I'll do Space once but that's about it. I think it's my least favorite coaster in WDW. :scared1:

 That happened to me last year on the moving platform on TTA. Only it didn't stop moving, I just nearly fell on my behind! :rotfl:

Well no wonder you don't ride coasters after that Space Mtn experience! :scared1:

Thanks Kelli!

I think the kids thought the HOP was going to be really really boring, but ended up finding it very interesting. Especially DS11. DS9 might have thought it was a little boring. :rotfl:

The whole left side was walled off in the HM line. :sad2:

I used to like Space a lot more than I do now. It seems to get rougher all the time. I am refusing to think that it's me getting older!

I do prefer RNRC, EE, and BTMRR over Space any day!

Another great update! Your DS11 is quite a history buff! Isn't he the one who was really excited about going to Gettysburg? They must be doing something right in his school, and he must be paying attention! :thumbsup2 I guess I wasn't as interested in history, because I can take or leave HOP. OK, I don't want to sound too bad here. I really enjoyed HOP the first couple of times we went, but it's not something I have to do every trip. There, that sounds better. ;)

Geaux Tigers!!

Don't geaux, Les!

Yes, he's the one who made us go to Gettysburg on the way home from Hershey last summer! So HOP was right up his alley.

I'm with you, it was nice to see HOP once, but I'm good now. :rotfl:

Ready for the Dole Whip update! :cloud9: Yum!

Yum dole whip float.

Dole Whips coming right up! :goodvibes
HM :thumbsup2
Space Mtn :thumbsup2

And a yummy Dole Whip...

This is a great day !

It was a great day! ::yes::

Yum. Dole Whips are next.
Can't wait.;)

Now, as far as this update....
let's see...

I rememeber my first trip to WDW at two and my Mom making me go see the HOP and I was a ticked off brat over it. Now I get to pass the boredom on down to my kids- b/c I really like it in there as an adult.:rotfl2: It's cool, it's a place to sit and it's mildly amusing.
Yes, it's going on the touring plan for September. Belle can deal.
I love that your DS loves history-- it is very rare in kids his age. (He'd love Charleston. hint hint.)

Him not wanting to go into HM was sad. Poor guy. It is kinda freaky-- Leota has lost her head and all. Mark was always freaked out as a kid at the bride at the end saying "Hurry Back" and also the Hairy leg guy on the bridge on POTC. Anyway, I can see how it could give kids bad dreams.

Buuuuut at least he was willing to do Space mtn with you-- Twice! And I'm glad he did it that second time b/c we had a good chat while he was gone for forever. It did seem like a long time that he was gone. I'm happy we finally got to talk- it's fun to gab with someone when they are at the World b/c you know the place so well and can picture everything in your mind.

Love the pic your DH took while they were away from you. he wins the best photo of the trip award.:rotfl: NOT.:rotfl: ( it is a good picture of your youngest though...!)

Great update!

Ready for more!:surfweb:

Just tell Belle to take a little nap in HOP! I figured DS9 would close his eyes at some point, but he managed to stay awake!

I do need to get DS11 to Charleston sometime! ::yes::

Yes, I was very disappointed that he wouldn't ride the HM. :sad2: He seemed to love it last year, I don't know what happened. He never mentioned these bad dreams until we were there. . . :confused3

Space Mtn was fun! :yay: And so was talking to you when DS went for his second ride! :goodvibes

Yeah, what part of 'take SOME pictures' did DH not understand??? :upsidedow They were on TTA and he didn't get a picture of anything they saw? I guess he's more of a - sit back and enjoy the moment kind of guy. Where I am a - capture every moment type of person! :rotfl:

Dole Whips coming up very soon! :yay:

I thought the Hall of Presidents was good too, best part was being in the A/C!

Great updates..... i am really enjoying the stories and pics.... but the one thing that bummed me out in June when i went was all the walls up... to me at least it took away from the magic... :(

Thanks Mari, glad you are enjoying! :goodvibes Yeah, all the construction walls sure are ugly. I am wondering what it will look like this summer. :scared:
