Great pics, yours and the boys'. I'm not all that familiar with the Poly layout, so those were really fun to see! It's too bad that the gingerbread house was just in the beginning stages. How are you going to pick a date for next year? There are so many factors to consider - weather, F&W, Christmas decorations and crowds. And I know you're one who does her homework and thinks everything through!

I know your weather was really cold at the beginning of your trip. but aren't you glad you're not there right now? I saw on the news yesterday that Orlando was having record low temps-like 28 degrees! They showed these people at SeaWorld all bundled up and huddled up watching a show. Poor people and poor dolphins having to perform in that weather.

Your boys take some great pics...just like their mom! DD20 and her friend actually switched to the Poly for their March trip today! I guess they thought the theme would appeal to them more, which I totally understand. I am going to show her your pics...she will love them!

The boys take some GREAT pics..... i like your idea of a split stay.... hmmm something to think about for the next stay... LOL but i think next time we go the new resort is going to be built so we'll probably try to stay there.... we'll see......

DS's pics are soooo good. The one of DS11 and the MM pancakes is adorable. And DS9 on the beach in the chairs... priceless.

Just looking at the pictures made me recall the Poly smell. Once you've been, you always remember the way it smells.

It's so funny that you said Poly has it's own smell!!! When we went there for breakfast with Lilo and Stitch, my DH made a comment about how it smells so good in Poly- very tropical! Disney should come out with a line of scented candles for all the Disney World smells. As long as they leave out some of the smells from Animal Kingdom.

Hello TR friends! How's everyone doing this cold Thursday?


Well it was 7 degrees when I went to the grocery store this morning! I have to laugh, or else I'll cry!! Went to the grocery store, WalMart, and then to the beauty shop for a haircut. Where I might have lost about 8 inches of hair. . . I haven't had time to mess with it yet, so I'll tell you later if I like it or not.

Tonight is DS11's 6th grade chorus concert. For one of the songs the chorus teacher needed 1 kid to jump out of the chorus and do an 'air guitar' solo. Well, out of the 100+ kids in the chorus guess who got that part??? Yep, my kid!! Should be quite entertaining tonight.

I hope everyone is staying warm and getting ready for Christmas!

Tonga Toast Recipe - I think is on all ears... if not I can email it to you

The pictures by the boys are great, the day was beautiful, clear blue skies and the lush tropics!

Of course your son got picked to do the air guitar... who else could do it so well.

I never noticed a smell at the poly? but we sat on that swing and enjoyed the sun

I love the smell in the BC, that they need to bottle, and they had reed difussers in the bathroom with lemongrass smell, they were yankee candle company, so nice!

8 Inches of hair - WOW - good for you! I want my shorter hair back, DH says he liked it, my mom said she didn't. It was so much easier and made me feel better, and that's what counts? right? Hope to see some makeover hairdo pics!

I don't know how I am going to pick a date for next year. . . I don't think we are going to do November next time. Two times in a row is enough for now. I was thinking about going around Columbus Day weekend to see all the Halloween stuff & so that the kids wouldn't miss as much school, but then found out that the middle school takes an educational field trip that is kind of mandatory during that time. DS11 would be disappointed to miss it. So that blew that idea. I would love to do May again, Disney is so beautiful in the spring. But May 2011 is still this school year and I don't want to pull them out again. And May 2012 is too far away. I do have a few other dates in mind and the planning is in the beginning stages, but nothing is set in stone yet.

Yes, I am so glad I am not there during this cold spell. That has to be miserable to have your entire trip that cold. I was mad about 2-3 days being cold!!

I know, DS11 is nearly the same size as me already (although much skinnier )! He does look very grown up in that picture.

It was funny to see the lifeguards all bundled up and then a few brave swimmers in the pool!

You know, I have never noticed the smell of the Poly or the BC. And I am usually pretty sensitive to smells. Weird. I guess I better pay better attention to them next time. I don't want to be missing anything.

I know, as soon as DS told me they were having try-outs for that part the next day I knew he was getting it. I had no doubt in my mind. That's just so him!! I can't wait to see it. I'll try to get some pics tonight!

I do feel better with less hair! My DH doesn't care either way. Although he may be a little surprised when he gets home, I didn't tell him I was doing it. But it's still kind of long, it's still past my shoulders. I think the hairstylist was afraid to cut it. She kept saying, are you sure? Then she cut about 4 inches off and I made her go back and take 4 more off!! I think it will be much easier on the mornings I get called into work.

It had warmed up a little by the time we got back to the BWI. We were happy to shed our jackets! But it sure wasn't warm enough for swimming like I had planned for this day.

After booking this trip clear back last December we thought about going to MVMCP this time, since we didn't do it last year. Then we decided not to. Then we thought we probably should since this could be the last time we get to WDW during this time of year for awhile. Then, in the end we decided that spending the money to add an extra day would be more worth it than the party. Then, shortly before the trip I got a PM from a very good DIS friend saying that she unfortunately had to cancel her November trip and had 2 adult MVMCP tix for Monday November 8th that she wanted to give me!! Well, I could hardly pass that up! So I quickly got online to see if there were tickets left for that date and there were! So I purchased 2 more tickets and we were all set. But, we decided to not tell the kids until we were on the trip.

So after we got back to the BWI DH distracted the kids while I went over to the concierge desk to ask what time we could get into MK with our MVMCP tickets. The party started at 7:00, but I had heard on the DIS that you could get in at 4:00. The CM said – well technically I am to tell you 4:30, but it's really 4:00! We weren't planning to go that early anyway, I just wanted to make sure that we could in-fact get in before 7:00.

So we made our way back to the room.

By then the kids wanted to know what we were doing the rest of the day. DH and I had thought about planning some big surprise for telling them, but it just never happened. So we just gave them the Santa hats we had got for them at Target and told them we had something special planned for tonight and to guess!

They thought for a minute and DS11 shouted out – ARE WE GOING TO MVMCP???

They had a little celebration!!

On one of our stops in the BWI gift shop I had picked up a new lanyard for DS9, his was getting old. So him and I then moved his pins from the old lanyard to the new one.

Brrrrrrrrrr 7 degrees.....Not sure what it was here this am when I took the dog out, I need to start checking.

8 inches is a lot of hair to lose all at once but I know you must love the lighter feel of it now, I know I did once I gave in and cut mine a couple of years back. I keep mine shoulder length now but I am in the process of letting my grey grow out, I am just tired of coloring it so I keep snipping off an inch here or there. I should just go get all the colored part cut off but not sure about having short hair , only went really short twice in my life and that was when I was much younger. I don't wear hats so my ears would fall off with this cold weather we are having.

How nice your DS(11) got the part for the air guitar, I know he is thrilled.

Speaking of next trips............I have to change my tickers............DH and I decided to change our dates and go during FD so I called this am before the promotion ends on 12/20. We figured lock in the savings and if they offer something good later on we can always change our dates again. As of now we are going Sept 29-Oct 5 before the columbus day crowds, I saw you mentioned maybe going then, the room rates go up on 10/7 but I do not recall for how long.

I sent for and recieved the new vacation planning dvd have not watched it yet but it is a new one. Last year I got the pin# a week or so after the dvd so who knows maybe I will get one again which will be better than the FD.

Love the excitement of your DS's when they found out about the MVMCP. Your very welcome for the tickets and thank you again for the gifts you sent me, I hung the calendar up and started using it right away.

Yep 7 is bitter cold, but not quite as bad as the other day when the high was zero!

I do this every few years or so. I get in a mood and my hair comes off!
