I Can See Epcot From Here! ~ A November Trip and Dining Report ~

Joining in! I'm writing my TR and taking notes from yours on things to include and talk about. :lmao: Can you tell I'm a first timer?

I'm so excite for your Boardwalk stay! That's great!

A ham & cheese crossiont. My favorite! I hope it was good for you.

What is Captain EO? I'm so behind on things these days?

Leif Garrett - oh way to make me feel old!!! He did sing some, although I can't remember any songs! I remember him in Tiger Beat magazine with Scott Baio and Andy Gibb. How's that for some 70s flashbacks!!! Who's with me? (no one else wants to admit they're as old as me!)

F&W - from what I've heard, the weekends are usually very busy. That was the last weekend, so I'm sure that had something to do with it as well.
I want to go to F&W, but I will have to remember to plan to attend during the week and not at the tail end. My kids get a four day weekend in October every year, and that's when I'd like to go (and do MNSSHP too!) some year. I guess we'll do the party on the weekend and F&W on the weekday!

I do know who Scott Baio is.

Yeah, maybe going in the middle of the F&WF would be better and less crowded.

I'm with you, Sheree! :yay: Yep, I remember all those guys...and Tiger Beat!

For those of you too young to remember, Leif Garrett's biggest hit was "I Was Made for Dancin'", which hit #10 in 1979. NO, I didn't remember that all by myself! I looked it up. :surfweb: But now I have it stuck in my head. :headache: The other song of his that I remember was "Put Your Head on My Shoulder".

Sorry, Shelly, back to the Trip Report! :cheer2: And I have to go sing several rounds of "it's a small world" to get whatshisname out of my head! :upsidedow

How's singing it's a small world working out for you??? :rotfl: Hope it got whatshisname out of your head!!
Looking forward to more reports. Have a ? though. Why do you feel it's better to get a Disney gift card to put for food charges on?. We always just put it on our KTTW card and bill it to the resort and pay it all off at end of trip. Seems the same to me. Any advice?

Welcome!

We always have gotten the DDP in the past, therefore everything was paid for ahead of time. No need to tie our credit card to our KTTW card. So by getting a gift card for food ahead of time this time (since we didn't get the DDP) it was still like it was prepaid. Plus I bought the gift card at my local grocery store, getting free fuel in the process!

Sorry your trip didn't get off to the best start... :sad2:

I just ordered Epic Mickey & the guide book from Best Buy this morning! We'll pick it up at the store sometime this week. DH is actually the one who pushed me to buy it!

So what do you sell in Santa's Workshop? Our PTO has thought about doing something like that but it's never gotten off the ground. Send me a PM if it's too much off-topic information to share here. Thanks!!

Ooh, that looks like fun! Lucky boys! ::yes::

Have fun at Santa's Workshop!

I hope Epic Mickey is as fun as it looks!

I had so much fun at Santa's Workshop I am going back for more in the morning.:rotfl:

Welcome Soleil! :goodvibes

The BWI was a lot of fun!

The ham & cheese croissant was pretty good. It would have been better if I wasn't freezing and had somewhere to sit!

I googled Captain EO. Here's what I found for you and the others who don't know what it is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kBeD1L_nd4 I don't know, a lot of people like it. We just didn't!:confused3

Hey Amy! :goodvibes

Yeah, the trip didn't get off to a great start. I guess they can't all be wonderful from beginning to end!

YAY for Epic Mickey!! :cool1: I don't usually play the Wii very much, but I'm thinking I want to try this game out!

Our Santa's Workshop is tied into our fall fundraiser. The company we do our fundraiser with is also our Santa's Workshop company. The stuff at SW is mostly junk! :rotfl: I hate to say that, but it kind of is. But with that said, the kids LOVE it!! What kid doesn't love going to the dollar store? The items range in price from 25 cents to 10 dollars. There's little toys and gadgets, pencils, erasers, stickers, watches, mugs, plaques, tiny tools, jewelry, etc. I can tell you more about it if you want. The kids really enjoy it. And since we do the fundraiser with the company they provide each kid with a $1 coupon to use. That way no one is left out.

The kids wanted to do Spaceship Earth next so that's where we went! There was a very small wait for it, maybe 5 minutes. The kids love it and DH and I always rest our eyes in there! While we were on it we got a voicemail that our room was ready. It was 2:30. After the ride we sent our ride videos home, made a quick stop at Mouse Gear (where I bought an Epcot snowglobe for my collection), and then headed back to the BWI to check out our room and get unpacked. I was so excited!! I never feel like my vacation has fully started until we are unpacked and settled into our room.

Up Next: We finally get to see our BWI room!!

Okay - love the snowglobe!!
That crowd picture? SCARY!:scared1:

The skies were so bright and it looks so nice, it's hard to believe it was cold!
Nice skywriting!

I'm anxious to see room pictures!!

Woowwwww...that crowd picture! That is unbelievable!

I love the Epcot snowglobe! Isn't it fun to have a collection to add to?

It makes me sad to read how happy you were to get the text that your room was ready. We know what's about to happen, and it's not good. :sad1:

That blasted window!

What was up with the crazy sky writings?!?! I totally forgot until I saw them in them in the corner of one of your pictures!

You said after space ship earth you sent your ride video home? Can you explain this?

Thanks, I was happy to find an Epcot one!

Yep, that crowd picture is pretty scary.

The skies were nice and bright and pretty. But the air and wind were so cold!!

I thought the crowds were pretty unbelievable too. Never seen that before! :scared:

Thanks! :goodvibes Yep, it's the fourth snowglobe in my collection. I have a big WDW one. And a small MK one, a small DHS one, and now a small Epcot one. I love them!

I was so excited when our room was ready. If only I had known what was to come. :sad2:

I cannot believe that crowd picture!:scared1: That's insane. Can't wait to hear more!

I know!! :scared1: And I took one later in the week at Epcot that wasn't much better.

What was up with the crazy sky writings?!?! I totally forgot until I saw them in them in the corner of one of your pictures!

You said after space ship earth you sent your ride video home? Can you explain this?

We always see the skywriting when we are down there. The kids love trying to guess what it is going to say as soon as they put up the first letter!

Have you ever been on Spaceship Earth? It takes your picture and gives you a little quiz and then makes a video of it to watch at the end of the ride. Then when you get off the ride there are computers where you can email it home or to anyone. It's very neat!

That Epcot pic was nuts! It was totally not like that by the next weekend! I just looked at the Epic link-Oh yeah...I'll ge getting that for the kids from Santa! where did you order all your stuff from? If you don't mind me asking!! I want to see the extras you got!!!

I had no idea you could send it home!!! We didn't take the time to look around after riding it because my son's diaper leaked on the ride while he was on my lap so I was in a rush for a bathroom to change him and survey the damage! And the second time we rode my son fell asleep so we were carrying him out to his stroller!! Ahh just another reason to go again!!

Oh, BTW, I'm glad we could both come out of mourning to post on Shelly's TR!

I hope it was OK to add that. But I didn't use the F word! ;)
F word-- would that stand for failure with a big fat F??????????
:sad1:

Okay, so how is it that you know who Leif Garrett is and I don't??? You are only like a year older than me!! So who is this guy anyway? I only looked up the pic. I didn't take the time to read about him.

The F word. :rotfl2: That's football for those of you who don't know!! (This is a family friendly TR after-all!)

JO & Teri like to talk football when they get together. Which is usually on my threads. And I don't watch one bit of football! :rotfl:

Well dang, IDK how I know who he is?
I think my older cousin must've liked him, that must be how I knew who he was? B/c I don't remember him singing.
At all.
Perhaps there's a reason for that?:rotfl2:

Sigh.
Football season is all but over for us, so I'll be on good behavior for the time remaining. Until next year.;)

So your latest post---
holy criminy! The crowds were insane! I'm so sorry that was your first day there. How awful.

On a lighter note..... the Tronorail pic with SSE... :goodvibes
thanks for the *new* wallpaper for my computer. You know I stole it for today's change out.:woohoo: LOVE it!

Love the new snowglobe too!

Can't wait for more!:surfweb:

I'm in! :) Great start so far Shelly!

I'm with you, Captain EO was BORING. I seriously was suffering through it in September.

Can't wait to read more.

Great report today!

We are picking up our copy of Epic Mickey today as well. Should be a lot of fun. There is a ton of advertising out here (billboards, bus wraps, newspaper ads) promoting the game as well as in DL and DTD. Some of these games are making as much money as full feature movies. No wonder Disney is promoting it so heavily.

What! No love for Captain EO and Figment? :sad1: Glad the meds help you through the pain - :thumbsup2

Turtle Talk with Crush is a blast. Glad you liked it. Cool snow globe too.

That crowd shot was crazy - so busy!

Love the pics of your resort. Keep it coming!

Sea :cool1:

It sure was nuts at Epcot! :scared1: You are lucky you went after the F&WF was over!

You should definitely get Epic Mickey for the kids!! We get our games from the Game Stop. Do you have those stores there? I think it is pretty much the same price everywhere. The game itself is $50 and the collectors edition is $70.

I can see why you were in a hurry to get out of there with a leaky diaper! :scared1:

Yep - definitely a reason to go back!!:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Epcot was insane. Pretty much every time we went there. :sad2: But the weekends were definitely the worst.

Glad you are enjoying the SSE/Tronorail pic! :goodvibes That's a good idea. I think I will set it as my background for the next few days. :cloud9: Right now I have our RNRC pic there. It is hilarious. I can't wait to share it with you all! :rotfl:
