Oh good, you're old enough to know who Ross Geller is! I didn't want to start another Leif Garrett thing.

You had such wonderful luck with it! I know it made you so happy.

I think that we may have to try it next time. Like you I'm not a big fan of RFC so I've been wary of trying TRex but after your review I think it's going on the list for September. I know your boys loved it-- I like to see what they took pictures of, to get a kids perspective of what they were experiencing.

Yes, T-Rex made us very happy when everything went just right. A much needed change after the room/balcony thing and the AKL thing.

You guys should give it a try! Lots to choose from on the menu.


I'm glad everyone is enjoying the kids pictures. I wasn't going to post them, and I haven't posted them all. I leave out the self portraits/up the nose shots. But yes, some of them are very good and offer a little different perspective.

The food was very good! I wasn't sure how much the kids would like the restaurant itself, they sort of outgrew the dinosaur thing about 5 years ago. But they still thought it was very cool and want to go back again!

After dinner at T-Rex we briefly stopped in the gift shop there. Not really too much for us to look at in there. It would be great if you have some little dinosaur fans in your family! It was very crowded in there.

We left there are went to the Harley Davidson store. We always stop there, I don't really know why! I guess DH has gotten a few shirts in there in the past, but he didn't get anything this time. The boys got their pictures taken on the motorcycles like usual!

We hadn't seen the hot air balloon running all day but thought we'd take a walk down and look anyway. And of course, like aways, it wasn't running due to – high winds. It wasn't looking good for us getting to ride it this year, same as last year.

So we headed down a little further and did a little more shopping. The kids like going into Magnatron. They have some really cool stuff in there. I don't think we bought anything, but we had fun looking!

Took a quick look in the Candy Cauldron.

DS9 really wanted to go to the Planet Hollywood store to get our 'free' souvenir that came with our package. We knew it was only a little keychain, but he wanted it! Well they moved the Planet Hollywood merchandise store. It had been there in the area of Magnetron & Candy Cauldron, but there was something else in it's spot now. I think it's a Vinylmation store. But as we walked back towards the Marketplace we saw that they had put the PH store right by the restaurant. So we swung by there so DS could get his keychain!

Then we headed back towards the Marketplace and to the bus stop. But not before stopping at the Lego Store and World of Disney once more!

I thought about getting this scarf, but decided it was too early in the trip to make my purchases!

We also took a look to see if the new restaurant that replaced McDonald's was open yet. Pollo Camparo. It wasn't yet.

And we finally made our way back to the bus stop. The bus stop was for all 5 resorts – Swan, Dolphin, YC, BC, and BWI. We had a seat and waited for the bus. It was getting really cold by now. It was dark out and the wind was blowing. I remember us all sitting huddled up on the bench and waiting. And waiting and waiting. For about 25 minutes. We must have just missed a bus when we got there. Finally one came and we got on. They made the announcement of the stops and the BWI was last. The stops were announced in this order – Swan, Dolphin, BC, YC, BWI. So after such a long wait for the bus there was no way were were going to stay on the bus for all that time to make all those stops. So we got off at the Swan and walked over. It's about a 7-8 minute walk. It took 20 minutes to get from DTD to the Swan. I had heard that it was nearly an hour trip from DTD to the BWI on the DIS before going. I figured that was an exaggeration, but if you are including wait time, travel time, and stay on the bus until it gets to the BWI I can see how it might be close to an hour.

It was a cold walk back to the resort. There were entertainers out on the BW, but we decided to save that for a warmer night! We got back to the room and got changed and settled in for our first night in our new room.

I took a few pictures of our view at night.

The kids played with their new purchases ~

We watched IllumiNations from inside with the door propped open slightly. It was too cold to go out in our jammies! We were amazed that we could not only see it, but we could hear it too! I didn't take any pics that night, we were just enjoying it. But I did take some from our balcony on another night.

We watched some TV and got a good night's sleep in our new room!

It did not look as if DTD was too crowded when you went. I was surprised to read that the Planet Hollywood store was in a seprarte area away from the restaurant since the last time we went there um maybe '98 the store was located insidet the restaurant , although it was very small just a walk up counter with merchandize behind and inside the display counter. The boys seem to enjoy DTD and spending their money there.

I like the scarf, I hope you got back to buy it, I do the same thing but sometimes end up regretting not purchaseing an item when I first see it since I never get to return at a later time.

Sorry it was so chilly. When we went in Dec last year, we had to break out the gloves a couple times so I know how you feel. We want it to be warm since we're coming from a colder climate. lol!

We've never walked all the way down in DTD. The farthest we got was Lego! We go in each store, I don;t know why because the merchandise doesn;t seem to change much.

I have that scarf - in PINK ! I bought it in AK Jan 2010 trip. I have yet to wear it I am scared I'll ruin it !

T-Rex was great! They should make them all participate in the DDP. The good news for us was that even though some of the restaurants are not Disney owned they all took WDW gift cards!

What??? You need to walk all the way down and check all of DTD out!! It is a long walk, but worth it!

You really need to check out DTD some more!! For as much as you like to shop I would think you would spend several days there! Maybe you just need someone to show you around!

I think Ghiradelli is one of the few shops I haven't been in at DTD!

You know I saw in one of your pics from last years trip what I now know must have been the Planet hollywood Store, but at the time I thought to myself what did they do move Planet Hollywood ???

Disney has to stop changeing things and confusing me I am thinking it must have been '96 or '97 when they first put in what must now be the west side, I know we went to the Virgin Music Store and the place with all the interactive video games if that is even still there and '97 was our fiasco at pleasure island, 2006 was only a weekend trip so no DTD and last year just went for our last evening so never made it to west side, just as far as McDonalds.
This is why I love reading TR's, you always find out things you missed or what is new.
