I Can! I Can Stink at 9am! A January TR - 3/8 New TR Link!

Major fail on your part. :crazy2:

Actually this is partially your fault now that I think about it! Had I stuck to only my regular hand written schedule, no one would have been able to read it cause I have the worst hand writing in the world :rotfl2:

And this will be the last time @Leshaface goes to Disney World without booking FP+ for the first hour the park is open.

This is a fact.

::yes:: Yes, you should have! Maybe a little starvation would be what they'd need to get them out of bed the next morning.

Unfortunately, every person in my family gets angry when we're hungry. What is is? Hangry?? ::yes::

You really need to be more selfish. It would make me feel better about myself. :rolleyes1 :rotfl2:

It would be really nice if I could just leave my family back in the room for a while and venture out all on my own. Getting that there pistachio ice cream and what not :rolleyes1:teeth:

::yes::

Of course!

We're disgusting

I've heard some bad reviews of this place, but it seemed like it had been making some improvements over the past couple of years. Apparently not!

It's been making improvements?? Holy Schnikeys, from what?! :scared1::eek:

Brings new meaning to the term "facepalm."

1443.gif

Very cruel. Very, very, very cruel. This will be the last FP+ ride you ride twice.

Uh, how about the part where DH continues to look for Princess Jasmine?! That killed my confidence :sad1::rotfl2:

::yes:: Much better.

::yes::

I just found your trip report and was wondering how your husband was feeling? Please have him look into vestibular neuritis or labyrinthitis. I had this last year and I have been treated by an Ear,Nose, Throat Specialist. I was very lucky that my hearing loss was minimal and is now back but they have me coming in every 6 months to monitor it. There is treatment so the sooner they diagnose it the better. Best of luck.

I am 4 pages behind and have no hope of typing all my comments out.

Your drive through Oregon and Washington was amazing! Looks like you had a great time.

Catching up with your Disney trip...

I visited their second location, 'Voodoo Too' and I was shocked to find no one! Literally just workers. No one even entered the lot as we were leaving, so it had a locals vibe feeling. I found a picture showing what it could look like when it's packed!
Hey, that's the one we went to as well! But there are always people there. :confused3 Of course, it's right next to youth soccer fields, so the timing of your visit vs. their practice can probably make the difference.

:sad2: Don't know how you did it. And wonder why she didn't like being in her stroller? DS loves being in his stroller. Well, as long as it's in motion and not stopped, then he thinks he's getting out.
Yeah, Izzy used to like her stroller, but she was very resistant this last trip. Kept demanding to walk, but then that quickly turned to demands to be carried... :headache:

Yep, we're both in the same position. DH took him to his mom's house two days ago and was only in for a few minutes, saying he needed to 'pee-pee'. Smart kid knows how to get out of situations already :rotfl2: I think he gets his dislike of pools from me. I'm not a huge fan. I know how to swim, I like laying outside of them, just don't like to get in them. :confused3 In fact, we're the odd house out in our neighborhood, all because of me! If you stood on a ladder and looked at all surrounding houses from our backyard, we're the only ones without a pool ::yes::
I hope the kiddos get more comfortable with the water. Though I am like you - I "blame" myself, as I really don't love getting wet. I mean, an occasional dip in the pool is nice (especially if a slide or lazy river is involved), but I'm not a big pool person. But I enjoyed it as a kid and I hope Izzy will too.

Timestamp: 10:28am
:scared1: I think I'm with Andy - I would have gone to MK for solo time. Leave them something to microwave and set a lot of alarms. ::yes::

When I looked back as we were walking past the check in, DH was still looking for ‘Jasmine’.:rotfl2::rolleyes::rolleyes1
:lmao: Nice work on that one! :rotfl2:

Hey Lesha! I just wanted to say that I was gone from the boards for a while but I'm finally back and am thoroughly enjoying your TR! Your mini TR in Oregon was awesome as well. The views and sights you and your family saw were so beautiful! It looks like you all had a really nice time.

I am looking forward to reading more of your TR! :goodvibes

Hi! He's still pretty much the same. Not as dizzy, only when he lays down on the floor. He only hears vibrations out of his left year, but he is due to go see his doctor for a check-up in a few weeks! I'll definitely look into these disorders you mentioned. Thanks so much for asking about him and bringing these to my attention.:goodvibes

Hi PIO! :rotfl2: Don't worry about comments, that was a ton of updates all at once. We had the best time on our Summer vacation, definitely chose the right places to get out of this awful Cali heat.

Hey, that's the one we went to as well! But there are always people there. :confused3 Of course, it's right next to youth soccer fields, so the timing of your visit vs. their practice can probably make the difference.

So I guess I really did go at the best time! I was hoping late afternoon wouldn't be busy and it wasn't! :hyper:

Yeah, Izzy used to like her stroller, but she was very resistant this last trip. Kept demanding to walk, but then that quickly turned to demands to be carried... :headache:

Ugh, I hope DS won't be like this as he gets older. Will make things so much more difficult.

We're going to a 4th of July party today and there's going to be swimming involved:scared: Or maybe not, in DS's case

:scared1: I think I'm with Andy - I would have gone to MK for solo time. Leave them something to microwave and set a lot of alarms. ::yes::

Alarms! That's actually a brilliant idea i'll have to use for next time! When I worked the opening shift at Starbucks, the overnight crew would hide coffee and spin (cleaning the lobby) timers throughout the entire store for us to find. And they'd go off in 1 minute increments and it being 4am was so not fun  But looking back now, pretty funny.

:lmao: Nice work on that one! :rotfl2:

I try! :rotfl2:

Hi Alison! I was wondering what happened to your TR when you got back from WDW. I hope you'll start it soon :goodvibes

Yep, ya got me there.
It's been making improvements?? Holy Schnikeys, from what?! :scared1::eek:
I have no idea. I can't recall a time when I've ever had a meal there.

Uh, how about the part where DH continues to look for Princess Jasmine?! That killed my confidence :sad1::rotfl2:
Oh, don't take it personally. He's a guy. We all have a weakness for Jasmine.

And someone pointed out that since our FP wasn’t until later in the morning, that means we wouldn’t have to show up until that time

Major facepalm moment.

I let DM and DH ride first and keeping a tally in my head of how nice I’m being to use this against them later.

Of course...isn't that what you are supposed to do? :scratchin

Awwww so cute! :goodvibes

After our ride on the Carousel, we went right over to Mickey’s Philharmagic where DH attempted to move up in levels on CC

:rotfl::rotfl2::lmao:

And when I mean light snack, I do mean full blown lunch :lmao:

What is this "light snack" thing you mentioned? :confused3 Never heard of it...:rolleyes1

And I got this classic shot for the books :rotfl2:

This one you should totally have framed!:lmao:
If for nothing but the look on that woman's face! :rotfl:

To fight unfairly (or just smart).

If you don't play dirty then what is the point in being married? ;)

I pointed really quickly and rather excitedly behind him and said “Princess Jasmine!”, he looked, I grabbed DM’s arm and off we ran to the queue.

:rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

But that’s not even the funny part.
When I looked back as we were walking past the check in, DH was still looking for ‘Jasmine’.:rotfl2::rolleyes::rolleyes1

I liked the way this one turned out

That's more like it! :thumbsup2
Your hair is enjoying it too! :rotfl:

Awesome update! I am LOLing over here at your H looking for Jasmine. Lol! He totally deserves it for making you hang around the room when MK is RIGHT THERE... Ugghhhh...

DS was adorable on the carousel. My DS looooveed it at that age too. Glad DS kept his 3D glasses on in Philharmagic! We just got all the way through Inside/Out in 3D with DS. First time he kept the glasses on.

The stroller thing is TOUGH. DS went through this hard. Funny thing though is now that he is 3.5 he loooovvvee as the stroller & always wants me to bring it or rent one. He actually made me push him all over the zoo yesterday!

This is awesome!!! :cool1: Maintaining is the hardest part I hear. And you make that Gingerbread Cake girl!:hyper: You totally deserve it:goodvibes

I'm enjoying it right now! :thumbsup2

You know that's not very far!

:rotfl2:

It really is depressing seeing all those signs and I see them everyday while out and about. Have you guys had to stop washing your cars yet?

We haven't washed our car in about a month, but I don't think it's mandatory yet. I did notice at the grocery store today, tons of cars in the parking lot were as dirty as ours, and that's not normally the case.

I've only been to the San Antonio in Paso but they don't serve lunch, which I thought they did the last time we visited and I was totally sad:headache:

The one in LA isn't anything special, but I did enjoy my sausages with marinara sauce and pasta.

The downside to me printing out our schedule was that everyone could look at our schedule. And someone pointed out that since our FP wasn’t until later in the morning, that means we wouldn’t have to show up until that time

Major facepalm moment.

Doh!

I should have just went to the MK by myself earlier that morning, but then there would be no one there to crack the whip. Also, everyone would starve since I’m the cook

Yes you should have! That's why I have some days where breakfast is yogurt and a can of V8. I steal plastic spoons from the QS locations so we can take our breakfast on the go! We usually only have 2 sit down breakfasts consisting of bacon for that very reason.

And I tried to make it better by adding a border, but don’t think it helped :rotfl2:

Squinting into the sun never makes for a good picture. :sad2:

And BTW, I just love this ride but it would be really cool if they implemented the elements from BTMR at Disneyland though.

After being spoiled by the DL version, I'm waiting for them to upgrade MK's version.

After our ride on the Carousel, we went right over to Mickey’s Philharmagic where DH attempted to move up in levels on CC

Wow! He is totally and addict! :lmao:

I have no pictures of our meals, but I distinctly remember taking a bite of my pepperoni flatbread, remembering I needed to take a picture, chewing more, then realizing how gross it was and decided I did not want to document this atrocity. BLEGH was it nasty.

That's sad. The BLT flatbread at DL's Village Haus was great.

Overall, I really enjoyed it. It’s not a thrill ride by any means, but it’s fun for all ages. But not something I’d wait in line for 90 minutes for.

Exactly!

I knew DM had the Rider Swap pass and she was standing next to me and DH in front of me. I pointed really quickly and rather excitedly behind him and said “Princess Jasmine!”, he looked, I grabbed DM’s arm and off we ran to the queue. And when I mean ran, I mean took two smallish steps to the entrance. But that’s not even the funny part.
When I looked back as we were walking past the check in, DH was still looking for ‘Jasmine’.:rotfl2::rolleyes::rolleyes1

Oh My God! I can't believe you did that! OK, yes I can. :rotfl2: And your DH was still looking for Jasmine! :rotfl:

Awesome updates! I thought I was the only one with a toddler who hated water! The California coast/Portland trip looks fantastic. The west coast is on my bucket list

I had quite a tasty cheese pizza from Pinnochios, but that was 7 years ago... So many other tasty places to try.

For a snack you should have gotten the chocolate chip cookie sundae over at Storybook Treats. Oh my goodness is that thing delicious!!! popcorn:: popcorn:: popcorn::

You should definitely have gone to MK on your own. Make a note for next time.

Cute Carousel pictures!

And that Jasmine story is HILARIOUS!

I should have just went to the MK by myself earlier that morning, but then there would be no one there to crack the whip. Also, everyone would starve since I’m the cook

I like the idea of taking a solo morning at MK...but I think if I left it up to DH to get the boys out the door EVER it would be a complete disaster! Someone has to be the general, after all!

I let DM and DH ride first and keeping a tally in my head of how nice I’m being to use this against them later. Come on! They got to sleep in AND ride the first attraction of the day.

I think I'll be bringing a notebook to keep a tally on our next trip.

:rotfl:This is just too perfect!!

But, seriously, a really great picture of you and DM on the Mine Train!

Awkward question about your first trip with DS... How were you feeling postpartum? I'm 35ish days away from taking my DS on his first trip at 7 weeks old and I'm currently on bed rest due to some complications from delivery. I want to believe the month until we go will be enough for me to heal so I'm (at the very least) not in pretty constant pain for our trip but at this point... I'm just in pain!

Great up date! Enjoyed your mini summer trip report also. We live on the east coast and are planning on doing a cross country trip to see the west coast, I wish we did it when our children were young like you are doing. You are making great memories for you DS, he might not remember much but you got the pictures, trip reports and videos to prove it!!:rotfl2: Loved the " Princess Jasmine " trick. Was he pissed when you guys got back? The picture with your DM is priceless!!! Love it!! :flower::love:

Your road trip sounds amazing! Such fun updates :goodvibes

Calvin is so brave petting and feeding those goats! From the video they looked like they were crazy energetic, I think I would've been scared to put my hand near them :rotfl: Good job, Calvin!

DH got freaked out by one of the Emu’s (Ostrich??:confused3)

"He was gonna PECK you!!!" :rotfl:I laughed!

And DH even taught DS to drive

...And I laughed even more at this!! :rotfl2: Love his technique, as well as his adamance to do it all by himself

DM: Is that Eagle Real?

Me: Yep!

DM: Oh wow was Calvin intrigued?

Me: Mom that wasn’t real

DM: Oh you

Me: Mom that thing’s like 30 feet wide!

DM: I thought it looked LARGE but then I thought it was the photo

:rotfl:To be fair to her, the photo took me a couple of seconds to process..!

And then I saw this

DH had pushed him down by himself :scared1:

Omg, from the way he's a bit twisted, I saw this going much worse!

WOW :scared1: are they all just completely random flavours?!

Great oden’s raven, were they amazing!

okEoV4A.gif

Perfect!

Hahaha even Calvin is in the background looking like, "this is probably going to end badly.."

This needs to be printed and framed :rotfl:

When we got home DH and I talked so much about our trip and talked about how much fun we had. We both agreed if we were to ever do that road trip again, we would spend more time in Portland. In fact, DH is trying to find an excuse now to get back up there soon! Newport was probably the worst coastal town we’ve ever been to:lmao: I don’t know, maybe we’re spoiled with our cute and quaint villages we have on the Central Coast but it was just not what we were expecting. Seven Feathers turned out to be such a great stop that we all enjoyed! But we really did have the best time and it was something that we had never done before. DH was so stoked off this road trip, that he’s currently planning our next Summer trip to the Grand Canyon apparently :confused3:rotfl2:

Thanks for reading along!

So glad you had a great road trip! Sounds like so much fun :goodvibes:goodvibes

My friend, I promise to be back to catch up before I leave for my trip on Friday. I've not forgotten you.

I should have just went to the MK by myself earlier that morning, but then there would be no one there to crack the whip.

Haha, this is me too. Like, do you people not understand how important it is to be up and out at the crack of dawn?!?!
I actually had a dream (/ nightmare) last night that me and all my family and friends were at WDW, and on our first morning nobody would get up, and I was trying desperately to get everyone to wake up, and we ended up missing the Magic Kingdom Welcome Show....... :rotfl: Clearly I don't have enough to worry about. But COME ON PEOPLE LET'S GO GO GO!

Omg, they have the SAME SMILE :rotfl:

So, I think that’s the first restaurant we’ve put on our ‘Do Not Return’ list while at WDW :sad1:

Thanks for the heads up! I haven't eaten here before, but I always think the menu looks pretty good. I'll probably make sure to avoid it this year :thumbsup2

Next up was DM’s turn. And things got tricky. DH wanted to ride again. But so did I. Up until now, I’ve graciously let DH get the second ride from all Rider Swap attractions, but that wasn’t a strong enough argument apparently. So that only calls for one thing. To fight unfairly (or just smart).

Hahaha this cracked me up! But I was kind of concerned when I saw this next picture... I saw the man sat in front of you and I thought your DH had maybe followed you in..!!
Calvin will be ok outside, I'm sure.. ;):rotfl:

Haha, super cute photo :goodvibes Great update!

but then there would be no one there to crack the whip. Also, everyone would starve since I’m the cook

Hilarious. That is totally me. If I went alone they'd never get out of bed. or eat.

But not something I’d wait in line for 90 minutes for.

That's the thing...nothing IMHO is worth waiting in line for 90 minutes. Once you wait that long your expectations are sky high and nothing seems worth it. But when you walk on...almost anything is fun...that's how I see it lol

Looks like you had a great day though!! (even after a late start lol) Too bad about the yucky pizza...sigh...

Great update!! The Mine Train is the one ride we didn't get to try on our trip. (which I am starting the TR after I post this. Finally!! lol) I really wanted to go on it but the wait time was crazy and we couldn't get a FP. Glad I didn't wait the 90+ minutes to ride it. We even left the girls at the hotel with our mothers to go to the extra hours and the wait time was ridiculous. Your post made me feel better. There is always next time to try it.
