I can do this...Karyn's journal to lose 20!

I feel like a new person today! The exercise really got my day started great. I got on the scale this morning and wasn't too happy, BUT I have a good plan for this month, and I am going to do great. I am at 132 today, and I can't wait to see the wonderful things that daily exercise will do to my body.

I got some cards from my mom and sister today. I really miss them. We decided last night to go ahead and travel to SC for Thanksgiving. Does anyone know of any good airline deals to check out? We have never flown before, and I am totally ignorant. I won't be able to book until the end of the month, so I am hoping to get a decent deal on tickets.

Breakfast-2 scrambled eggs (3 pts)

Lunch-WW pizza...YUMMY!!! (7 pts)

Snack-ice cream sandwich (2 pts)

That leaves me 8 pts for dinner. I haven't decided yet what to eat. The WW pizzas are so good and very filling. They have really improved them from a while back. Thicker crust. Yum Yum!!

I ended up eating a chicken pattie (5 pts) and some grits (2 pts) for dinner. Pretty good! I don't have the temptation to snack tonight. New frame of mind!!

I'm glad you joined the exercise challenge! You will notice a difference in your body after a month, I can guarantee it!

For good travel deals, check out travelocity. Also, I don't know if Southwest flies where you are going, but they have good deals too (you have to go directly to their website). If you don't care about layovers or flight times, you can try Hotwire, but with a lack of flying experience and flying with kids, I wouldn't recommend that option (you don't get to pick your flight times). If you have any questions/concerns, PM me. I travel A LOT!!

Keep up the great work and put that scale away until next week!!!

Good for you Karyn, it sounds like you are doing great! I also think the ww pizzas are better. But my favorite is the South Beach Diet brand. Made with whole wheat crust. Also, I find any pizza tastes better if I cook it in the oven and not microwave.

I had a pretty good day today. The weekend is coming up, so hopefully I won't blow it!!

Breakfast-pancakes and syrup (6 pts)

Lunch-grilled chicken (2 pts), green beans (0 pts), biscuit (4 pts)

Dinner-cereal and milk (6 pts)

snack-crackers and peanut butter (3 pts)

Total...21 pts...good day :flower:

Hi, Karyn! Sorry I have not commented on your journal...I have been reading when I can....
I think you are doing great and I know you will do great this weekend! BTW-I love the pics of you and your kids! They are just adorable! Have a great weekend!! :Pinkbounc

I did not start my weekend off well. Went to Hardee's and got a bacon, egg and cheese biscuit and hash rounds. I don't feel too bad about it, though. It was REALLY good and I haven't had one in a long time. I'm not even close to being hungry for lunch, so I may just do a light dinner. Cereal or a snadwich.

I will force myself to make some time to get to everyone's journals this week. I'll just have to schedule it in. I've been trying to read them, but everytime I get going, something happens. I applied to the community college here in Creston to start taking classes in the spring. I hope that it works out. Actually, I think the classes start in January, so I'll still have a few months. Can't wait!! :flower:

I pulled my scale out of hiding, and got on it. I had a pretty good weekend. I ate a little more than I needed, but I was still down a pound this morning. No step class tonight because of the holiday, but I 'll have pilates in the morning. I have just gotten to the point that I can cough without being in pain!! I know that it will be easier doing the pilates twice a week. I'm in terrible shape if my muscles still hurt after 4 days!! I should sit down and write everything that I ate over the weekend, but honestly, I can't remember. I hope to have a good week, though.

Breakfast-none

Lunch-Shepherd's Pie with 93% ground beef, peas, carrots, mashed potatoes (instant) and cheese...YUMMY!! I didn't go overboard with it. I had one serving and stopped. I may eat some more later, but that shouldn't put me over in points. I don't know how to figure the points, but it's so good, that I really don't care!! :flower:

DH hasn't heard anything about his unit going to LA and MS, so we are hoping that no news is good news. They are a firefighting unit, so they could be called for cleanup. He has had people coming in all week, and he will let me know when he hears something. It wouldn't be as traumatizing as when he went to Iraq, but he would still be gone for a while. It's just part of the job, though.

Sounds like you are doing great! That's good that you are looking forward to working out.

I finally found the No Pudge brownie mix! I got the regular flavor. I think I might do the single serving option, since I am one of the "eat the whole pan in a single sitting" people they talk about on the box  Both my kids are selling Otis Spunkmeyer cookie dough for their school fundraiser. We ordered 4 tubs. Lord have mercy, it is going to be a ROUGH fall with all that temptation!

You really are sticking with it and you have such a positive attitude! I am glad you are finally feeling better. I hope for your sake (and the kiddie's) that your DH does not have to be deployed anywhere.

Keep it up!

Sounds like you are doing very well Karyn - and glad to hear you got some mail from your family. It seems like you really enjoyed getting that. Keep up the good work - you are doing so well!!!!

As far as airline deals - it will depend where you will fly out of and what airlines service there. Southwest may start having some deals soon - depends on what this gas does to them. Also maybe United and American might as well. Again, depends on where you fly out of. Just keep watching them and if it appears that rates are going up, book now but see what their penalty is if they have a sale and you want to go with the cheaper prices. Some will charge you. Just gotta read the fine print.

Keep on
Chris

:cheer2: Great job on the 1 pound loss!! :cheer2:
I hope that you have a great week! Does a heating pad help at all with your hernia?
 I love, love, love Shepherd's pie!! In about a month, it will start getting chilly outside and I will start making it. I don't bake anything until the fall then stop in late spring.

Not feeling too hot today. I have a doctor's appt on Thursday to discuss having surgery. It's something that I have put off for too long, and it needs to be taken care of. I was pretty much confined to my chair all day yesterday, and today isn't a whole lot better. I went to pilates this morning thinking that it would help, but it didn't. I don't think that it made it worse, so that's good. I have tried heating pads, January, but I can't tell where it helps a whole lot. It's time to do something. I want to have the surgery now so that I don't have any trouble travelling in November. I didn't eat breakfast this morning, and had some leftover Shepherd's Pie for lunch. I'm drinking water right now. I didn't eat a whole lot more yesterday after I checked in. I had a bowl of cereal last night. I will probably have the same tonight.

Mom in SC started WW on Saturday. She is doing pretty good so far. She said that having a different mindset makes all the difference in the world. We are starting to plan our November 2007 trip to WDW. I want to go RIGHT NOW, but we will have to wait. We are thinking of staying at Pop Century this time. The kids absolutely loved ASMo when we went in June. Can't wait!! :Pinkbounc

I know having surgery is a tough choice, but if your current condition causes you so much pain, a little down time now might save you tons of pain in the future! Whatever you decide, remember that you can still eat healthy even if you can't exercise for a while. Is this an outpatient operation?

Hang in there! :grouphug:

I hope that it will be outpatient because we don't have anyone that we know in the area who can take care of the kids if I am down for a while. DH can take off a little time, but we are trying to save as much of his leave as we can for summer. I really don't know if surgery would incapacitate me anymore than what I am dealing with now. I can't wait to see what the Dr. has to say on Thursday.

Karyn~
I am sorry that you are in pain...it will all be better soon! I hope you feel better! :sunny:

I hope you are feeling better today! Thanks so much for all of your support. My plateau and scale hatred issues are NOTHING compared to your chronic pain issues. Your comments help keep me in the game and make me not want to give up. I can only hope I am half as helpful to you as you have been to me.

Hang in there and get that problem taken care of so you can get back to feeling great!!!

Today has been uneventful...that's the way I like it!! I am on my way to my first step class in about 45 minutes. Really looking forward to that. I should burn off a lot of calories tonight!

Breakfast-grilled cheese (7 pts)

Lunch-Hot Pocket...thought I had bought Lean Pockets and didn't realize it until I already had it out of the wrapper. There are too many people hungry for me to ruin a Hot Pocket, so I ate it. (9 pts...yikes!)

Dinner-some Lloyd's barbeque pork and 2 taco shells (3 pts)

snack-I got some Trim Creations fudge sticks from Schwan's (1 pt) YUMMY!! :mickeybar

Total...20 points...I still stayed within my points for the day, and I will earn activity points for tonight. I don't like the Hot Pockets cheese pizza as well as the Lean Pockets cheese pizza. The Hot Pocket is too greasy. I'm glad that I like the lower fat one better!! :flower:

Okay, I made it through the step class. We were 30 minutes into it, and I began to wonder if the woman was trying to kill us. What a great workout!! I didn't think that I would make it the whole hour, but I DID!! :cool1: I can't wait to go back next Monday night. I think that I enjoyed the step class more than the pilates. I felt like I got a really good workout tonight. On to tomorrow!! :flower:

:goodvibes Great job going to go to a workout class! I hope you had fun! Thank you for visiting my journal...I appreciate the kind words!!

BTW-You are doing awesome!! :teeth:
