I can do this...Karyn's journal to lose 20!

I have a whole new outlook on life this morning! :cloud9: I ate a baked potato for breakfast. I know...weird...but I had a HUGE craving and it has kept me full for 4 hours. I usually piled on the cheese and sour cream, but I measured everything this morning. It's amazing how much sour cream I was actually eating! I was probably putting 4 servings on my potato. I am going to have a Lean Pocket for lunch and haven't made any plans for dinner yet. I'll have about 6 pts left for tonight. Probably do grilled chicken on the George Forman (that man is amazing to come up with this grill!!).

On another note, there was a thread on the W.I.S.H. board about PCOS and I e-mailed it to my sister. She took it to her doctor yesterday, and he started her on the medication that was mentioned in the thread. She had never been tested for PCOS and when I read it, it sounded just like her!! Hope to be sharing her weight loss with you soon! Maybe I can get her to start a journal. :goodvibes Baby steps...

Congrats on the weight loss!!!! :cool1: Must be those veggies... :rotfl: What the heck is a pineapple and cream cheese sandwich? Do you actually eat it on bread? I make a dessert with crushed pineapple, tidbits, LF cream cheese (I hear ya on the FF - yuck!), SF/FF vanilla pudding mix and LF cool whip. It is so good and I don't think it is too awful calorie-wise. I'm wondering if this sandwich you are talking about is similar in flavor...

Keep it up, you are well on your way to your 5 for Aug challenge!

Way to go on the weight loss!!! Great News!

that is great that the DIS was able to help your sister!!!!
I too am interested in the pineapple sandwich....sounds good!

Hope you are having a great day! Keep up the good work

Pineapple and cream cheese sandwiches are so addicting!! I just mix a small can of crushed pineapple (drain it first) and a block of cream cheese (low fat works great) in a Rubbermaid bowl and keep it in the fridge. It will keep for about 2 weeks. Just spread it on bread! I spread it pretty thin, so I don't have many WW points in a sandwich. I can make about 15 sandwiches out of one bowl of it! I use this recipe a lot for showers and sandwich parties. In the south, it's a staple at wedding receptions!!

Stuck to a Lean Pocket for lunch and I have a Jennie-O turkey to put in the oven for dinner. I am going to make broccoli to go with it. I'm feeling so much better today!!

Very good day today. Yay for Karyn!! :cheer2: :cheer2: I had a lot of self control today, and actually felt like I was IN CONTROL for the first time in a while!

Breakfast-9 oz baked potato with 4 tbsp light sour cream, 1/4 cup of 2% shredded cheese, and 1 tbsp of bacon bits (9 pts)

Lunch-Lean Pocket (6 pts)

Dinner-4 oz turkey in gravy (5 pts) and broccoli with a little bit of 2% cheese (2 pts)

22 points!!!! The funny thing is that I wasn't hungry all day like usual. Didn't snack all day. Much better outlook for the days ahead!! :teeth:

Awesome job, Karyn!!! That was a great day!!! Keep up the awesome work, alrighty?

Feeling good today. I tried to avoid getting on the scale, but I just had to do it. It's a bad habit! Right where I was yesterday...minus .2 pounds!! Now I'm down 1.8 and I feel great. (hey, that rhymes!)

The baked potato filled me up so well yesterday, that I'm going to do that again for breakfast this morning. It's already cooking away in the microwave. Lunch will be another Lean Pocket. So good!! Dinner will be chicken and rice. DH leaves for Fort Riley, Kansas on Sunday, so I need to cook for him for the next few days!! After Sunday, I can stick to my eating plan because I won't be cooking meals for two weeks. I can eat Lean Pockets and salads.

Hi Karen - great job staying on track. I am going to have to try the baked potato thing...those are pretty darn filling...I'll have to find out how many points.

Have a great weekend!

It's 3 points for 8 oz of COOKED potato. I weigh it after I microwave it. Most of the potatoes I got are 9 oz, so I just add a point!

You rock! You are doing great and I love your improved attitude! I know you were struggling there for a little bit. I am so glad you found something that fills you up without making you feel deprived. It makes things so much easier, doesn't it?

Don't go overboard when you are cooking dinners for your DH. Remember you can eat pretty much anything, just watch your portions!

Keep it up and have a great weekend!

Oh my goodness, what a day!! It has been a comedy of errors around here today, and I am really glad that the day's almost over!! I had plans to make chicken and rice for dinner. I had the chicken browning in the pot, and lowered the heat so that it wouldn't brown too fast. Well...I didn't cut the heat down low enough. :confused3 Got busy in the living room and started seeing smoke. Chicken was ruined!! I didn't want to throw hot, burnt chicken into the garbage, so I put it down the disposal. The disposal didn't like the chicken, either, because it spit it back out at me. I am now waiting on a guy to come and fix the disposal. :rolleyes1 DH was supposed to be home at 5PM so that I could get the flat tire fixed on my car, but he got tied up at the unit and it's now almost 8:00 and he's not home yet. Wouldn't be a huge problem, but don't forget that I have an autistic son who HATES a change in schedule that he is not notified of in advance!! Jack is just about completely crazy right now. :crazy2: Lucky for me, the Scooby Doo movie is on Nickelodeon tonight and he is calming down. Just waiting, waiting for this night to be OVER!!

Anyway, I did pretty good eating today. Here's a recap!

Breakfast-baked potato (4 pts), cheese (2 pts), bacon bits (1 pt) and sour cream (2 pts)

Lunch-Lean Pocket (6 pts)

Dinner-Salad...dressing(2pts), bacon bits(1 pt), croutons(1 pt), cheese(2 pts)

Snack-Apple Jacks (2 pts) and milk (2 pts)

total.....25 pts

Could have done without the cereal, but the salad didn't fill me up. I REALLY wanted chicken and rice!!!

The scale still said 133.2 this morning, so I didn't do any damage yesterday!! Just had a baked potato for breakfast and I'll do a Lean Pocket for lunch. DH has drill all day today, so I won't have to cook tonight. I'll probably eat cereal for dinner. Since I just ate breakfast at 10:00, I won't be hungry for lunch until 3:00 or 4:00. Those baked potatoes are really filling!! Hope today goes more smoothly than yesterday! :flower:

Hi! LOL! I can so relate to starting over so many times! If I had a dollar for everytime...well, you get the idea! ;) Thanks for your kind words! I really appreciate it! :)

I thought for sure that I had blown it yesterday, but the scale moved down a little more this morning. Now at 133. I did not do well yesterday at all. Well, that's not true. I did great until dinner. Then things went a little haywire.

Breakfast-baked potato with toppings (9 pts)

Snack-banana with fat free pudding (3 pts)

Lunch-Lean Pocket (6 pts)

Dinner-2 pcs of pizza (7 pts)

ANOTHER SNACK-3 chicken tenders (3 pts) and some chips (3 pts)

YET ONE MORE SNACK-bowl of cereal with milk (4 pts)

TOTAL-35 pts...13 over what I should have eaten

I am going to take the kids to the park today, and maybe to McDonald's for lunch. I need lots and lots of willpower...you guys got any to throw my way??

Hey! It sure would be wonderful if our meals were prepared for us! I'm not that rich though! LOL! ;) If I could afford it, I would so do it...I can't stand to measure things out...I mean I do it, but it's still a pain.

Keep up the hard work! :)

Congrats on that weight loss earlier in the week Karyn - hope McD's didn't bother you too bad. I really have seen lately how hard it is to eat out and what I was doing to my body when I tried to eat out the other day at lunch. It's amazing!!!!

Keep on
Chris

I did very well at McDonald's yesterday!! I got the kids Happy meals with chicken nuggets and didn't get anything for myself. We got it to go, and I just ate the nuggets that they had left. Pretty good!! Today has started out good, too! I ate a Lean Pocket for breakfast, because nothing else sounded good! Going to have a salad for lunch, I think. Either that or another Lean Pocket. Haven't decided yet. I'm going to try not to weigh again until tomorrow morning so that I can get an accurate weight for the week to submit for the August challenge. Maybe I can keep it under control tonight!! :flower:
