It's official....we are going to WDW June 18-25th and staying @ POP. I booked through WDT and was quite happy until she asked how many meals a day we wanted. I explained to her, that since this is our first trip, we really just wanted to be on our own. She really pushed a hard sell on me, she made me feel like I wasn't providing enough for my family trip. While there is a financial concern, I also have to worry about my kids. When they are hungry, they are hungry and we just need to eat. I felt awful and told her that I understood what the dining plan was and I had already told her twice that I wasnt interested. Plus, I would rather take advantage of free dining the next time we go. Has anyone else had a hard sell for the dining plan?

How Exciting!! Congratulations on Your 1st Trip!!:woohoo:

I wouldn't worry about the CM, you are the Parent and know
what is best for your Family.
On Our 1st Family Trip we winged it also and it was fun.

The CM may get a commission on booking DP, who knows?
but I hate when others make you feel guilty when there is nothing
to feel guilty about.

I see you live in California, I've compared the cost to go to DL Verses WDW and
was amazed at how cheap it is to go to WDW. For the cost of a 9 day trip
to WDW I could only go to DL for 5 days.
There were so many bonuses that you get with WDW like ME and cost of
WDW Resorts. You are going to be amazed!

I hope you have a Magical Trip!!! :goodvibes

Don't worry about DDP it doesn't work for us either just to much food.I never had a CM try to hard sell it to me.First trips are magical,so have a wonderful time at WDW.:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Thanks guys!! I know we will have a great time!! And i'm sure you will too!!

Actually, I was on the phone with WDW today (had a code that would save some $$), and all the CM talked about was how we could save so much $$ that we could add the DP, and still save $$.

The DP isn't something I'm interested in (hubby is an anti-planner, so getting him to agree to ADR's is a nightmare). Besides, we normally go down the strip and eat at Denny's or somewhere for breakfast, getting a huge meal for $5 or $6. With that, we don't even get hungry for lunch. So it's just dinner at DW.

Don't feel bad about not getting the DP. Like someone said, they probably get a bonus or something for adding things on to your package.
