I booked SSR for December-should I change it to VWL or BWV?

I'm a member of DVC and booked my December vacation for SSR. But since this trip will be a surprise anniversary trip for my DH I was wondering if I should change my resort to VWL or BWV. I was thinking that VWL would be more romantic and we always wanted to stay there. What does everyone else think?

I think you'll have a better chance getting BWV, but call exactly at 7 months, and probably day by day. What sort of accomodations do you want? We alternate years at BWV and VWL, we own at both and book 11 months out. This year it's BWV for us, no plans to change our ressie.

I think SSR is nice and quiet and private, and that should be just fine for romance.

I've seen some threads on the DIS that say that the VWL is already booked but I'm not sure if this is correct. I wish you the best of luck in getting the place that you want, but anyplace at Disney is a great place!!!!!!!

Either place is great! VWL is beautiful in December! I have a 2 bedroom booked at VWL now and I'm going to try to switch out at 7 months, so you never know where you can get unless you try

This probably won't help much, but either one is fantastic. Both are tied for first on our list of favorite resorts. Here are some things to consider.

Do you like the outdoorsy themeing? If so, then VWL is a great choice. It's cozey and romantic and the Christmas decorations are hard to beat (my favorite of ANY WDW resort--even better than GF--to me, anyway). I've never stayed in the villas there but have stayed at the main lodge twice during Christmastime and absolutely LOVE it.

BWV is fast becoming tops on our list, though, because of it's location. Being so close to EPCOT (our favorite park) and MGM is really nice. The fact that you can walk to each park (although the walk to MGM is a bit far--but doable) is so nice. If you can get a Boardwalk view, that's even better. I also like being so close to the Boardwalk and all it has to offer.
