I booked ressies for OKW and wanted BWV I asked to be put on a wait list for BWV. My question is when i go to the web site and go threw the booking process there it says that there is room at the BWV. So can I call them and ask them about this and can i call them everyday to see if anything has opened up. thanks for the info....im all confused...... mike

It sounds like you were unable to reserve at BWV thru MS, but found availability thru CRO? That is entirely possible, since the rooms come from different inventory. Availability thru MS depends on a room being available from member inventory. CRO has only cash availability for rooms gained from the points retained by DVD and the points used by members for non-DVC options. 60 days ahead, any rooms unreserved using points are also turned over to CRO (but those may also be reserved using points thru MS).

There are many times when there is no availability using points but cash reservations are readily available. Just use the waitlist and see if something opens up. The waitlist usually works (ask for daily autoconfirm).

Good luck!

What is daily autoconfirm?

You are waitlisted for each individual day instead of a date range. Also, when one of those days comes available MS don't have to call you to verify you want it. You are automatically assigned the room and the points are deducted.

ETA: It's the only way to use the waitlist, IMO.

What if only a few of the 9 day vacation becomes available, How would that work then? I am on 2 waiting list, one for BCV for 9 days and the other for BWV Standar view. I am confirmed for BWV Prefered view. I assumed the better way to go was wating for the complete 9 days. Please help me on this one.

Well, that's a problem. You could end up with holes in your vacation. If you have enough points to hold one reservation while booking the other day-by-day you are better off. I would feel more confident with a daily autoconfirm if my trip were at least 4 months in advance.

In this case, I'd keep what you already have. Unless you use autoconfirm all 9 days will have to become available at once and you will need to be at the top of the waitlist to get them. DVC won't "save" days as they become available from cancellations to make the 9 day reservation. Anyone waitlisted for any of the individual days will get their dates ahead of the 9 day reservation - unless a 9 day (or longer) reservation cancellation is available.

As you noted, the problem with autoconfirm is that you could end up with no reservation for some of the dates.

Good luck!

Thank you,

I am happy with what I have but, If I get what I am waiting for it will be even better. Thank you again for your responses.
