Nice decision to end your first visit with Mickey's Philharmagic! sorry you guys were caught in the rain! we had made it back to our resort just as it was raining. We must have been passing one another in the park and did not even know it!
can't wait to hear about your surprise...

I'll bet we did pass each other! And the next day too, because we had a 9am ADR for Tusker House!!!!

Good luck and God Bless your son and your whole family while you go thru this fight. Disney World is an awesome place to celebrate!!!!

haha, love the "hate to wait" pictures.

Glad you all liked BTMRR! That was my first ever roller coaster so it will always have a special place in my heart. :thumbsup2

They were, we loved Philharmagic and we had had a pretty long day at that point and were planning to get up early the next morning, so it was really fine.

As the rain came down, we left Magic Kingdom and headed back to our hotel. When we got to our room we saw this:

I told my family- "we're at the wrong room." But Hannah said "No, Mom, this is our room!" and to prove it, she whipped out her KTTW and opened the door! Imagine my surprise when we got inside. This is what we saw:

Some very good friends from another board had sent me and my family a surprise gift. There was a stuffed Thumper and a stuffed Goofy, a bottle of "Wishes" non-alcoholic wine and mickey-head wine glasses, baloons, a banner, a light up Tinker Bell picture frame with a certificate saying I had "kicked cancer to the curb" and inside the giant gift box was a "Triumph" medal with Mickey on it. I cannot tell you how blown away I was. Those girls are the best and have been thru my entire cancer ordeal from the day I got diagnosed. They are just awesome and it really added so much magic to our trip.
Hannah decided that Thumper needed to sleep with her and Donovan could sleep with Goofy. Here she is introducing Thumper to her panda bear.

After we finally settle down, had some "Wishes Wine" and watched a bit of TV, we were ready for bed because we knew that 6:30 was going to come very early.

I had to laugh at those faces too. It was hot and they were kind of whining about having to wait so I asked them to show me their "I hate to wait" faces and that is what I got. Then I asked them to show me their "I'm at Disney World" faces.

Great update, Chris. I love the photos of the "waiting in line" and then the "happy faces." I sometimes miss those days with my kids (but only sometimes :rotfl2:).

The surprise you got your friends is absolutely AWESOME! What wonderful friends. It is so important to have a support group when going through something like that, and it sounds like you had a great one. :)

Kathy, I really, really did. They always checked on me if they didn't hear from me after chemo and on my last radiation treatment they sent me a cookie bouquet. They are the most loving, wonderful women and I am blessed to call them friends.

Their gift really made for a magic experience. All of us kept looking at everything and saying "I can't believe they did this, they are so awesome!" It was cute when we first walked in and Hannah said "Mickey sent us presents!" :cutie:

OH! I love the surprise! How awesome!!!! what a way to kick the magic into gear and help you with the rainy night blues! :mickeyjum
You have a wonderful group of friends! that is for certain!

It did, it totally blew me away. My whole family too. We were all shocked, surprised and felt so warm and fuzzy!!! Love those girls.

It did, that was all magic for me. To walk up to our door and see that "surprise" banner, well how awesome is that??? Plus, I loved seeing my kids snuggled up with Thumper and Goofy in their little Disney beds. It was very sweet.

I forgot to tell you the best line of the trip!!!! As we were wandering around MK in our rain ponchos, Donovan says to me "Mom, does this poncho make my butt look big??" OMG, I have no idea why he said that but I ROFLMBO!!! What a goof!

The next morning was our AK day. I really wanted to make rope drop and it was early EMH so I was on a mission. The phone rang and it was Stitch. I got up but no one else did. :rolleyes1

I kept trying to hurry everyone along but we are a family of night owls, so getting up at 6:30 each day does not come easy to any of us. I kept figuring that being at disney would make a difference, but it didn't really make much of one. We got to the bus stop and the bus came right away. I enjoyed the woman in line who had a Tink tatoo on her right thigh. I saw her almost every morning and she was always wearing shorts and so Hannah and I would nudge each other and smile. Hannah's my Tink fan. Well, when we got to AK, we missed rope drop by literally 5 minutes! It was 8:05. We headed straight to the Safari. I normally take decent pictures. Not great, but usually decent. That morning I couldn't get a good shot to save my soul! Everytime I'd go to shoot, someone would stick their head, hand, arm, etc in the shot or a pole would jump up and get into the shot. So I have some not so great photos, but here they are.

After the safari, it was time to head to Tusker House for our 9 am ADR.

I think your photos turned out fine from AK. Mark and I go to bed early at night -- 10:00 for me, 10:30 for him because I'm up at 5:30 for work and 6:00 for him. On the weekends, I could sleep until 9 or 10 without a problem. But when I get to Disney, I am UP at 5:30 or 6:00 at the latest every single morning. I guess it is just all the excitement and we love making rope drop because so much can be accomplished and then us old people go back to the resort for a swim/nap. ;)

Can't wait to hear about Tusker House.
