I am very scared....UPDATE!

I am trying very hard tonight to take my mind off of tomorrow. And, yes I know I am a bit off topic but, I consider you my friends and I need your support right now.

As some of you know, my 8 year old DD went through her 2nd heart surgery one year ago this month. Tomorrow is her 1 year post-op check up and I must admit, I am so scared. After her last surgery (which we really believed was her last), they discovered a major narrowing of the pulmonary artery. They were hopeful that the narrowing would decrease after the surgery due to the corrected blood flow but, I still can't help but worry that she will need yet, another surgery. She has no idea there still may be some problems, I just couldn't bring myself to tell her. I wonder now, if that was the right thing to do.

Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers tomorrow.

It's absolutely normal to feel the way you do!! You're a MOM for goodness sake- but I think you did the right thing by not telling her- 8 year olds can worry too and a big part of healing is thinking you're going to! So just look at it as you're carrying her worry for her and letting her enjoy being an 8 year old who's loved and healthy. I'll be saying special prayers for you both tomorrow and for a good report!! Stay strong MOM!!

Hang in there! I am imagining the BEST possible outcome of this check up! You did the right thing not telling her, I think. She is young and doesn't need the extra burden at this point in her life of worrying about what might or might not be. I am confident that you will get some great news today though!!!

Were your ears burning yesterday? I met up with an old friend of ours and I was telling her about how successful you have been with WISH (I think you will know who I am talking about, someone who used to spread lots of pixie dust around here!) She misses you and wonders how you have been! Just wanted to let you know you were being thought of very fondly yesterday afternoon!
