Now I admit, I am not the most computer savvy person, but I am pretty knowledgable with Word and Excel.

DH asked me to teach him how to do an Excel spreadsheet, including borders, adding blank cells between catagories, etc.

I have now realized why I did not become a teacher (and bless all here that are).

Do you realize how many times I got up to refill my cup of coffee (to get out of the room and maintain my sanity?!)

Anyone else try to teach how to use a program to someone who just is not computer inclined?

(I still love the guy for trying)

Oh! I'm terrible at this!! Most of the time, I wind up grabbing the mouse from DH, and through gritted teeth, I say something like: "Just give me that... I'll do it!!" I'm so bad.

Don't you just want to tell the to get the heck out of the computer chair and you'll do it for them yourself?

I taught my mom how to use Word 2000 over the telephone. She went from a manual typewriter to the computer (for those that don't know what that is-she can type when the electricity is off ). Teaching her to click and drag over the telephone was definately an experience. And getting her NOT to fear the software wouldn't mess up and leave all her words on the same line was very interesting (everytime I said word wrap, she thought I was hungry ). But she does it all with ease now.

When are you gonna teach your dh how to do a powerpoint presentation?
