I have an opportunity to buy 50 points at Vero for a great price. My home is SSR. I don't really have any plans to ever go to Vero but I want more points for other locations. Do you think it will be an issue in my future planning having points that can only be used with a 7 month reservation window? What do you think?

I think it will sometimes be an issue - whether it will be a big issue or a minor one depends upon when and where you want to go.

The bigger problem with Vero is the maintenance fees. Any savings in upfront cost will be quickly eroded by the fees. I'd consider OKW (or more SSR) points as the better long-term choice for cheap points to use at WDW.

Not sure what you mean by a great price, remember it has to go through ROFR. I would look at where I wanted to book 11 months out and also consider maint costs. We own at SSR and OKW because we like it, price/incentive was right and maint fees are low. If we could only stay at those 2 resorts because nothing was available at 7 months window I could live with that, can you? On 50 pts how much are you going to save and will it be worth the schedule challenges for that amount - only you can answer that question.

Unless the VB points are the same use year as your original contract, you will end up with two master contracts, leading to potential problems, in the event you need to combine your points for one reservation (which you would not be able to do until the 7-month mark, even at your original home resort). That 7-month window may or may not be a problem, depending on the time of year and popularity of the type accommodations you want.

OKW is my home, but I've only stayed there 2 times in the 13 years I've been a member. I've had to wait list a few times, but they've always gone through, BUT I never travel at peak times.
