I had to split the ressie into two dates to get this good rate:
Dec. 18-23
Dec. 23-31.

But now I think I should cancel the ressie and rent a car at the airport (Dec. 18 - one day rental) and drop it off at Disney (aren't there a couple of rental places on site).

Then when we leave WDW (Dec 23) I could rent a car from WDW on-site rental and drop it off at the airport on the 31st. We are going to the beach form the 23rd to the 31st!

What a confusing mess.
I don't want to get to the Thrifty counter and have them NOT honour the AU02 code.

Usually if you split a ressie you will be required to return the car to the rental spot which means driving back to the airport..

I would rent for one day each way...you'll save money. We did this in july and it was fine... You can choose Alamo/National which is at the Car Care Center or Dolphin or Dollar which is at the holiday Inn at DTD....we did Dollar as it was quite a bit cheaper...but it was easy to drop of and pick up

sorry, somehow I messed up my first post, I forgot to post the Thrifty info.

I am stressed because I am afraid that Thrifty now won't honour my AU02 code since it ended last year.
But I did manage to make my booking just the other day using it.

What should I do?????

I need to get to WDW from MCO on the 18th (maybe a one day rental from Alamo and drop off at WDW car care center since I maybe cant use my THrifty rental). Then I need a rental from the 23rd to the 31st for the "beach"part of our holiday. Pick up at WDW and drop off at MCO. I just checked Alamo using codes and it was $375 US (long way form 79 US with THrifty)

riu girl - Your options are limited with an arrival date of Dec. 18. That seems to be the date that all the rental car agencies start their really high XMAS rates. We're arriving on Dec. 16 and staying through the 31st and I found a rate at National for a minivan that was only slightly higher than the Thrifty rate using AU02. I was also going to have to split my reservation and return to the airport with Thrifty, so the additional cost is worth it to me to stick with National.

I realize that you're agonizing over the AU02 code, but if you do a search on this site, you'll see many people who used it fine. I'd also suggest calling them directly to ask about it, or perhaps doing another on-line chat to see if you get someone else that perhaps provides a different answer. I really think that if their website accepts the code, then you'll be OK. I have family members using it beginning Dec. 19, so I'll be watching all of your different threads on this same topic to see other comments!

Was told that the I was given the incorrect info. last night. The code has been extended to 12/31/2004 BUT is only valid for Interent bookings. I was told to cancel my orig. bookings (made through their 1-800 #) and book on-line using the code.

So I did and the code still works.

Was told that 1-800# bookings are not valid and MUST BOOK using this code through their web site.

Still interested in hearing from anyone who used this code at MCO .
