This is a huge brag on myself, but I just HAVE to share, because even though I called everyone I know yesterday, I still feel like I am going to explode with excitement. I never in my wildest dreams thought I would EVER see this day!

I have lost 110 pounds over the past year and a half. I am 5'3" tall, and I think I need to lose another 20 pounds. You see, the person I see in the mirror must not be the same person everyone else is seeing, because everyone thinks I am crazy if I feel the need to lose anymore weight. Another 20 pounds would still put in me the healthy weight range for my height.

I am still wearing over-sized clothes, and my friends are really starting to get on me to start buying smaller sizes. One of my friends gave me a box of clothes for my DD. They were from her daughter, who has always been a tiny, petite thing. My DD is 11, and her DD is 26 years old. I went through the pants, and they would be a bit long on my DD. The sizes ranged from a 3 up to 6. Just to give myself a chuckle, I decided to put the pants aside, and thought to myself, maybe one day I can wear them. (then I laughed) Well, last night, I was getting ready to go into work. I need to wear tan pants. On top of the pile of pants I have set aside, there was a pair of tan pants. I held them up, and boy did they look narrow! So, I figured ..WTH..lets see how far I can get them past my knees. Well...they went all the way up, AND I was able to button them AND zip them, without laying down! Sure, they were painted on...and I had a tiny bit of a wedgie, but THEY WERE ON!

I had no idea what size they were..I didn't look when I tried them on. So I thought they were a size 6, since that was the largest size in the pile. Well, when I got home from work, and undressed, I looked at the tag...size 3/4!!! Did you hear me??????? I was wearing a pair of pants that were a size 3/4!!!!

This is from someone who has been over weight her entire life, and the smallest size I ever wore was a size 9 for one summer before I gained the weight back.

Now I think I am ready to go out and buy some new clothes.

Sorry if this seems like a bragging post, but I need to share, or I am going to burst. I want to scream to the entire world....and I guess the DIS is the closest thing to that~ :woohoo:

I think that is super amazing! Good for you! Have a great time shopping. You certainly deserve it. WAY TO GO!!:cool1:

good for you! you should totally be proud of yourself! and it sounds like you ARE in a healthy weight range! i definitely wouldn't be worried about another 20 pounds! :cool1:

You have every right to brag!!!! Congratulations..that is just awesome!!!!!!!!!:cool1:

First of all...you should be allowed to sing it from the rooftops..that is an amazing weight loss and congratulations. I am working to lose the 80 lbs I put on over 8 years..slowly but surely.

But you do have to share what you did differently. I am watching what I eat and trying to exercise and it is working.

Again..CONGRATS!:banana::cool1::thumbsup2:woohoo::yay::dance3:

Congratulations!

And, btw, how did you do it?

agnes!

this is an awesome time for you. You did an a great job and you should be proud of yourself.....The BMI I think is a little off. I am 5foot 2 inches and I am supposed to be at a certain weight and I am over but the doctors keep telling me that I am fine.....so what gives.

Try to just keep eating healthy and having fun doing it.

That is awesome! You should brag, that is an amazing feat. Are you sure you need to lose 20 more, a size 3/4 is small for 5'3".

I am ashamed to say that I need to lose 25 pounds and I can't seem to get myself to even start. Maybe I will use your success story as inspiration. I haven't worn a size 3/4 in 25 years.

Way to go!!:woohoo:

That is fabulous! Great job! :goodvibes You should be bragging! Good for you. I bet you have a lot more energy and feel better too. :thumbsup2

It's funny, because I have a friend who has been telling me for years to just cut out white flour and sugar. I could never do it, because I just couldn't imagine NEVER eating anything with sugar or white flour again.

After years of struggling, under a Dr's care and a nutrionist, I couldn't even lose ten pounds. I finally gave in, and cut out sugar and white flour. I eat lots of salads and protein.

I'd like to lose 15 or 20 myself. And tone up. I'm a size 8 or 10. I'd like to lose the belly fat and thunder thighs. My clothes hide a lot. No where to hide in a swim suit. :scared1:

I have tried to lose it. I just keep reverting to my old eating habits and not exercising enough.

OP, your story is an inspiration!

I think you SHOULD brag and should yell it from the rooftops! That is an amazing accomplishment and I completely get your excitement!!! You go, girl. Now go get some new, skinny clothes!

:car: :car: :cheer2:party: H U R R A Y!!!!!::car::car: :cheer2:party:

You deserve a REAL Hurray Parade! Not a tongue-in-cheek one!

You have every right to brag. That is a wonderful accomplishment. Congratulations.

Congratulations! You have every right to brag -- that is a huge accomplishment. May I ask - do you eat whole grains?

You have a right to brag as much as you want! 110 pounds!! that's FANTASTIC!!! Congradulations!!! :cool1::cool1:

I know the feeling of looking at yourself in the mirror and thinking is that really you. Sometimes I have to take a second look because I can't believe it. :rotfl:

I lost no where near your amount so I can't imagine what's like for you.

I am a diabetic and started seeing a endorcronolist(sp?) last August and he took me off basically white flour as well actually all flour and sugars. I eat protein, vegtables and fruit. I have lost 35 lbs since August 09, i have another 8 I would like to lose but my Dr. does not want me to lose anymore. I'm still trying but I guess I will not get too upset if I can't lose the last few. I'm bought some jeans a few weeks ago that are a size 6 and a little big in the waist but not sure I will get in a 4 ever again though.

Matter of fact my hubby and I are doing an Adults only trip in May to celebrate the fact that we have both lost weight and our anniversary but mainly the fact that we have lost the weight.

Wow, Marie, that's just incredible!! I've been seriously dieting since December 5th of 2009, and so far I've lost 37 pounds (tho weigh in is today, hopefully it's more!). What a lifestyle change, my goodness! :cheer2: :cheer2:

And I totally know what you mean about picking up the pants and thinking how narrow they look ;) I *had* to buy new pants for work, and had to replace the pants I was trying on twice because they were way too big :thumbsup2 The ones that ended up fitting I held up and went "uh, no way." The feeling when they fit... well, I know what you mean! :cool1:

I agree with the others on the 20 lbs; I don't think I'd be too worried about it after 110! Do you have any before/after pics you'd be willing to share? I'd love to see :D

The thing I am most excited for? Our trip to WDW in November! I can't wait to get on the rides and have the safety bars click more than 3 times! Also, my little 10 year old can go on things like thunder mountain and rock and roller coaster with me, and I won't have to worry about him flying out of the car, because the safty bar clicked at my girth, leaving about a foot of space between him and the safety bar!

Oh, this is funny...

WHen I got the pants on, I was strutting around the house. The kids were all excited, and laughing, and my DH wasn't so sure I should wear them to work, becuase of how tight they were. He was suggesting I change. I told him no way was a taking these pants off, did he realize what it meant for me to have them on??? I have an oversized company jacket that went down to my knees, so nobody would see how tight they really were. (I deliver pizza)

When I got home, I still didn't want to take them off right away. But after awhile, I wanted to get comfy in my jammies. So I went up stairs and passed my DS13 on the stairs as he was coming down. He asked me what I was doing, and I mumbled to him, "I have to take these pants off."

:lmao:
