Hmm....I am not sure where people got this idea. It has always been the policy that once the higher prices go into effect, even the renewal offers currently out there are no longer valid. For example, for us, we were within our Renewal period, but if we had waited the few days until the price increase we would have had to pay the price increased price.
Now, I may be able to help you renew at the old gate price (you won't get the $20 discount), some supermarkets in the area sell Annual Passes and some of those still have them at the old prices.
CMWade and Started With a Mouse: can you tell me specifically which grocery stores still sell them at the ld price? I just tried to renew mine online and it says I have to pay the new price. I may have to try and ask my cousin to go buy me some passes but I know she won't want to run all over Cali looking for them...If you're unable to renew at the old price, lots of the supermarkets still have the old price gift cards on display, available for purchase.

My understanding was that if you had a pass that expired on or before July 1, you could renew at the old price if you did so by July 1. This fits in with the 40 day renewal window. If you had a pass that expired after July 1, you were out of luck for renewing at the old prices, and the renewal letters that went out after May 20 would be for these post July 1 expiring passes and would have the new prices. I agree with PPs who suggest you go look at the grocery stores for annual pass vouchers still being sold at the old prices; it sounds like there are still a few left out there.
I was unable to renew online with a discount. I'm going to go look for my renewal letters. I think it said I could renew at a discount...
