I hate to fly too. I will tell you it is the safest way to travel (much more so than driving), but I know from my own experience that is no consolation.
I have an diagnosed anxiety disorder, so I have an emergency supply of Ativan (the only time I have taken it in the last 6 months was to fly). But that route is not for everyone and it is not a cure all....I still have anxiety when I fly.
I saw a link posted on the boards for a fear of flying online course. It is done by a pilot. I am halfway through, and I have to admit, it is pretty darn good. I have flown quite a bit over the years, so I am familiar with some of what he teaches, but it is helping me.

The course is completely free.
I tried to figure out how to drive rather than fly in September and it won't work for us. So I booked the air. I am stressing already, so I completely understand how you feel.
If the course doesn't help and you aren't a sedative kind of person or cannot take them for whatever reason, I always go to my plan C......grit my teeth, get on, and go.
My DH is trying to get me to go to Germany in the next few years. I am thinking that probably won't be happening!

My hubby doesn't understand why I get so scared....heck, I barely understand it myself.
Good luck, and give the pilot's site a try. I have read on here that it helped quite a few people.
