I am so overwhelmed....***UPDATED pg2*** help!

my best bit of advice: www.tourguidemike.com
his site will tell you the best days to go to what park, what shows are going off when, parades, any special events to include or avoid, etc...
if i had three days in the world, and wanted to visit all four parks, i would probably do something like this (first of all, i would expand my ticket to a four day ticket, why waste from noon to 9pm on that first day?):

2/28, arrive at hotel, grab a bite from the food court, head to Epcot for the afternoon/evening and maybe dinner at Biergarten or someplace "fun" in world showcase ('cause they are open 'til 9pm) and then stay to watch illuminations...

3/1, head to MGM after a food court breakfast, have dinner at Mama Melrose or Hollywood and Vine for the Fantasmic Dinner Package and enjoy the show at 7pm

3/2, extra magic hours in the a.m. at MK... skip breakfast and grab something at the main street bakery... have dinner in the park or at one of the monorail restaurants ('ohana is a great choice and lotsa fun) and stick around for wishes

3/3, animal kingdom park in the morning... epcot again in the evening... selecting dinner at a world showcase restaurant again, maybe something you will not be enjoying on the cruise like teppanyaki (in japan) or chinese (in china) or mexican (in mexico LOL) or if you are still in future world for dinner, coral reef is a good choice (and is no longer signature after 1/31/06) *or* after AK head to MK for spectro at 7pm (since you'll have seen illuminations on arrival day) dining at a monorail resort or the Whispering Canyon in the Wilderness Lodge

now you've used your 4 TS meals (one each dinner from the day you arrive) and most likely all your CS meals (if not, breakfast or grab 'n go selections for the ride to the cruise ship)

although HDDR is my ultimate FAVORITE show, i would forego it this trip 'cause there is so much more to do, and it really is a time consumer 'cause getting to the campground and back is no easy task (even if you take a taxi, which is what we did last time)... i think your time is better used in the parks :flower:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay ~ I know the experts will consider this a really pathetic schedule.... but I'm trying! I just feel like I'm going in circles......

Arrive Feb 28th at approx. 11:30 am - get situated at hotel - CBR
Head to Downtown Disney and I'm thinking about Planet Hollywood for dinner???? Is this good?

We used to have a local Planet Hollywood. I wasn't impressed, but it isn't BAD.

March 1st ~ MGM
I'm thinking Sci Fi Dine in Theatre for lunch.... or should we do Counter Service for lunch and Sci-Fi for dinner?
Fantasmic? Not sure if this will be going on.

Lunch menu is better at the SciFi by most reports. Stick to burgers and malts - but the atmosphere is one of Disney's best. (I can't remember how old your kids are, Sci Fi isn't good for the preschooler and younger set due to how the tables are set up).

Marc
h 2nd ~ Early entry at Magic Kingdom
Now this is the day I'm stumped on!!! I'd like to eat lunch at Liberty tree and then go to O'hanas for dinner. Is this something that can work easily... I know it's going to be a long day ~ will we be trying to do too much? Is there time to do dinner and go back to the park for the parade and wishes? HELP

You can do Ohana pretty easy from the MK. LTT does not have characters for lunch (as I recall) and I'd stick to counter service (Cosmic Rays or Peco's Bills are the two big ones at alternate ends of the park). You'll want more time that day than two table service meals allow.

March 3rd ~ 9am Animal Kingdom until after lunch... I know this is limited but I want to split this day between AK and Epcot. (Plus Epcot is open late this night.)
What Counter service is good for lunch at AK?

Tusker House is one of the best counter service restaurants I've ever come across. A lot of people like Flame Tree BBQ - and we've had decent meals from the Chankardi (or whatever) Chicken shop. I'd do whatever is close and don't cross the park for a meal.

Planning on LeCellier for dinner at Epcot

Le Cellier is one of Disneys best values and one of our favorites, but its steak, and you can get steak anywhere - including lots of it on your cruise. I'd be tempted to go for something more ethnic - Marrakesh is one of our favorites.

Okay ~ as you can see - I'm in desperate need of some real Disney experts here!
What do you think?????
ThAnK~yOu!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Crisi ~ thanks for your suggestions! I think I'm getting there now!

Day 1 - I think we will stick with Downtown Disney the first night, however, I'm going to scratch Planet Hollywood and hop on the monorail and hit O'hanas for dinner.

Day 2 - MGM
lunch at Sci Fi Dine in Theatre (kids are 9 and 11 and will LOVE this place!)
maybe grab a cs dinner this night and hopefully see fantasmic!

Day 3 - Early entry at Magic Kingdom
(I took your advice on not trying to do two sit down meals this day.)
CS lunch and Liberty Tree Tavern for dinner.

Day 4 - Split between AK and Epcot(Epcot has extended hours this night!)
AK at 9am and we're going to opt for a cs meal here for lunch
Epcot in the afternoon with a sit down dinner at Le'Cellier!
Hopefully we'll see Illuminations!

Thanks Everyone!!!!!

just a head's up... even when epcot has later/extra magic hours quite often the front (future world) part of the park closes earlier and only world showcase is open... i would be careful about splitting that day between AK and Epcot...

may i ask why you are so averse to a 4 day ticket and getting a kick-off to your park touring, since you will be arriving so early in the day? the difference for the four of you is only about $53 and i think it will make all your days more relaxed... even if you use that half day for AK from noon to 5... anyway, just my $.02 :flower:

gigi1313 - thanks for your insight! AK is the one park I'd scap if need be - but I think if we get there first thing in the am and leave after lunch for Epcot we should be fine. :confused3 Our dinner reservations at Le'Cellier aren't until 6:00.
As far as the 4 day ticket... it's not a matter of it only costing $53. money isn't really the issue - I just think that by the time we check into CBR and grab a quick bite to eat - that rather than rushing off to a park - We're looking forward to doing some shopping at Downtown Disney and having a nice relaxing dinner at O'hanas with the kids and then hitting the parks hard for the next three days. After that, we'll be ready for our cruise! ;) Again ~ thanks for your thoughts. :)

When you say you are going to hop on the monorail - where do you plan to do that? DTD is not linked to the monorail, so you would have to take a bus to the MK and then hop the monorail to the Poly for dinner at O'hanas. I would keep that dinner for your MK day. LTT is good, but it is a character dinner and you said you had hoped to skip those.

I also agree that unless you want to do some shopping, I would skip DTD all together. We have just not enjoyed it as much as others, and I would use that afternoon for a park. You really cannot get enough out of EPCOT in a half day, and evening EMH is a zoo (even during slow season). I would not skip AK, either.

You will have a good time, but really have your must-do list ready. You will not be able to do everything this trip, but it will give you a great reason to go back.

You can't take a bus to the MK from DTD. You can take a bus direct to the Poly though.

I wouldn't waste any time on DTD (which is shopping) on such a short trip.

I guess my answer is.... I'll take a bus to the MK and then hop the monorail to the Poly for dinner at O'hanas.

Actually, what I said was that due to all the characters the kids will see on the ship - they aren't absolutely necessary. However, I've heard great things about LTT and I'm sure we'll enjoy it!

I really do want to do alot of shopping!!!

Exactly! ;)

do you know how long mk will be open when you go? we go in winter and it closes around 7 most nights. if that is similar to the time you go ( you can check the historic hrs if you haven't) we usually have enough time at dtd after mk closes as it closes around 10 or so. that way you could spend your first evening and the ak evening at epcot and have plenty of time to shop in the parks... imo the park shops are much cuter and more themed than dtd. the ak shops had some decent bargains too ( shockingly) and i love morroco, very winding little alleyway type deal with shops with some nice things although the stuff we bought there fell apart. Britain has some really cute little shops as does Germany and France has cool but expensive shops. Ws is kind of the shopping "mecca" imo

we drive and usually get there around 12, nap then head to epcot for the evening. you could get there by 3 or so and have lots of time there. uh and ws has lots of shops! ;) if you didn't get my hint

also since the parks close earlier we make adrs for resorts after park hrs when ever possible. like your kids might be old enough to really like wcc and you could go after mk if you wanted to skip dtd. in all honesty i would skip dtd, and enjoy either ohana or wcc and tour the resorts those places are in( they have shops there to although poly's aren't great imo, if you go to Boma, akl has areally nice shop with lots of stuff you don't see other places). dtd just isn't that great imo. we always go but it's more of a "well we did everything so lets go to dtd" :goodvibes
