I mailed out a very delayed letter of thanks and praise to WDW guest relations and DVC last Thursday regarding a truly magical trip we had in August 2002. A cast member from WDW guest relations, I think her name was Tracy, called me this morning to thank me for the letter of gratitude. I was amazed by the speed at which they read their mail and respond to their customers. Tracy was so friendly and had obviously read the letter carefully, which was evident by the detailed comments she made regarding the letter and enclosed photos. What fantastic customer service; it is no wonder we go back to WDW year after year.
She also said that she had forwarded the letter to the resort managers and entertainment manager, so that the castmembers, who I mentioned, would be properly recognized.
What a great way to begin a cold, grey day in NY!!
Thanks Disney ::MickeyMo

I am also impressed....by you!

Too many of us, and I include myself, do not take the time and effort to take note of excellent service and recognize those "above and beyond" employee efforts. And to include photos...well, obviously you spent a little time putting together your correspondence and they recognized that.

Well done, and thanks for sharing. :)

That's fantastic! I'm sure they hear complaints enough that it's always nice to get happy mail!

I commend you for taking the time to write to them. Members are magical!

Thanks for taking the time to send the letter.

Many times CMs only hear the complaints. And with the current hostile corporate environment, doing their job well can seem unrewarding and useless.

When they hear positive feedback that someone actually noticed their hard work and actually appreciated it, I think it really boosts their morale and makes it easier and more rewarding to keep up their good work inspite of all the grumpy vacationers out there.

Wow, thank you for the kind responses.

It is amazing how a few kind words of appreciation and recognition can make a person's day. Too often we are quick to notify people of our dissatisfaction and slow to recognize them for their great work. Even though the letter was a year and a half late(had a baby since that trip, and he and his brother have kept me very busy:), I hope that it does bolster the spirits of the hard working cast members at WDW and DVC.

Now if only I can find the time to compose a nice thank you to the great hospital staff that helped with my son's birth, before he turns a year old:teeth:

Hi!! I just read your post and have to agree with everyone else. It really was nice of you to take the time to write to WDW. I know so many times my husband and I say we will do that when we have received such wonderful service or had a great experience somewhere due to certain people etc. and we rarely do take the time to do just that.

That was really nice of you and hope you have a many great vacations!!:D :D

A few months ago, after a visit to WL, I got an e-mail request that I go online and fill out a survey. In that survey I complained about a few things and complimented other things. Three weeks later I got a phone call from someone who had obviously read my survey very carefully. I was impressed.

In general, I have to say that the standard of service at Disney and DVC is still very high. Yes, there are slips and the budget cuts haven't helped. But I've paid a lot more for a lot less warmth and helpfulness elsewhere.

Thank you..... for taking the time to praise. As others have said, most have good intentions, but never get around to doing it.

I always write and complain when I feel I haven't received good service etc so by the same token it's only fair to write and praise when things go well. I've also done this with various companies on occasions and always get a grateful reply.:D

Well Done :) I am sure the individual CMs were thrilled to be recognized.

That's really nice to hear and also that they will take the time to give recognition to the CMs you mentioned. I agree, I should try to commend more often rather than condemn.
