I am SO Confused!! Please Help!!!

Nope, we're planning a Custom. But because I'm planning from Kuwait I'm just trying to get as much info as early on as possible so I know what to talk to them about. :teeth:

Don’t worry about the fact that it’s long distance planning. Disney is truly wonderful when it comes to weddings, and they will take great care of you!

Have you spoken with someone at Fairy Tale Weddings about only having a dessert Illuminations reception? The reason I ask is because Custom brides still have to meet a food and beverage requirement ($100 plus tax/tip for evening receptions). I think it would be very difficult to meet that requirement without serving food along with the desserts at the Illuminations event. Perhaps you could have an outdoor reception at one of the Illuminations party locations followed by the dessert party to end the reception.

I also think it could be difficult to meet the overall custom wedding expenditure requirement without having a regular reception. For most brides a good hunk of the cost of the wedding stems from reception costs.

I’m not trying to complicate things, I promise! :teeth: I just wanted to be sure you were aware of the minimums so you can take those into account with your planning. :)
 
Lol...I think you and I are going to have to talk more. I know the weekday min is 10k. I figured that was it. What, exactly, is the food and beverage min? You MUST get 100$ worth of food and bev per person? What if I have a bar? Lol. hmmm... I was totally able to get up to 10k with just the dessert reception. Guess I'll re-check everything! Lol.

The bar can run you a good bit, that might help:)
 
I was told by my Sales Manager that you can have a cheaper reception and make up the min difference by the dessert party so it is all rolled into one grand total. I hope that this make sense. Remember with the dessert party, if you want special desserts, they cost more. (At least I remember reading that somewhere.)
 
Yes. That is exactly what we are doing. Since everyone is coming in at different times during the day, we thought that having the Illuminations dessert would be great for our first get together. We are using the UK Lower Terrace.

The buses can go and pick up everyone, or at least that is what I have been told.
