HELP!!! I am totally lost! My daughter told me that for her birthday she wants to go to Sea World! I am a Disney FREAK! We sleep on Disney property 40 nights or more a year. But I have NEVER NEVER been to Sea World! I do not know where to begin!!!!!! I need to know what to do...where to go..... There are three parks right????? I am so confused! HELP???!!!! Where should we eat? Should I book a dinner experience??? We are only going for one day- we are going to take a taxi over to Sea World from Disney. Tell me EVERYTHING you know!!!!!!!!! What else should know before we go?? HELP!!

There Sea World park. Discovery Cove and New water park Aquautina. I would go with Sea World if choose just one of them. Now I don't dine in the parks at all expect for ice cream or water other then that I don't eat in parks so I don't know the food options at all. Sea World has lot shows and few rides. I like the park because it's laid back and easy going park.

As a fellow Disney fan, I completely understand the lost feeling. I have issues with Sea World (mostly mine as I am a total type A person) BUT my kids LOVE it, so we are doing a 3 day JUST sea World visit in June.

Yes there are 3 parks:
Sea World - Mostly shows, some rides
Discovery cove: Very limited admissions, very hands on
Aquatica: The Sea World water park.

I am not sure what you are thinking but there is lots of information about all 3 here, read through specifically about Discovery Cove as it is pricey and I think doing (or not) should be your first decision.

Second look at the website
http://www.seaworld.com/sitepage.aspx?PageID=199

IMHO it is very poorly arranged, but you can at get a calander with show times there about 3 weeks before you leave. But it does give you a general idea of what is there and ticket prices. You should also see if you want to do any tours. (We have chosen to do the Dolphin and Polar express tours)

Then I would think about Aquatica.

There are dining experiences (on the web site also but difficult to find
I use this link

for both tours and dining.

But dining is not as involved as Disney. Besides the shows, the only sit down resturant is Sharks Underwater grill and you need an annual pass to get an advanced seating assignment there.

Hope that helps! Sure others will chime in to! Good luck with your planning! Kate

It also depends on what you and your kiddos are interested in. One mistake some people make is not enough time. I would suggest getting there early and planning to stay late! Or take a small break and come back.

Would you all be interested in feeding the dolphins up close and personal? If so get there at opening and head straight to the feeder pool. They have the 1st feeding at 9:15. This way you only have to wait for 15 mins. If you do this later in the day, be prepared to get in line a hour before the next feeding time! They also have an area to feed the sealions but not really close to them. There are also areas to feed stingrays and sharks. You can pet the stingways but I'm not sure what sharks you feed so I don't know about interaction there.

Are you interested in rides? If so you might want to plan these for inbetween shows.

I highly recommend visiting the link that a pp posted to see the show schedule and plan your day around the shows you want to see. It's a good idea to get to the shows about 45mins early. People start lining up about a hour ahead of time and they open up the stadiums 30 mins ahead of time.

As for where to eat is again something you need to think about. Most of the restaurants are counter service and decent. Don't expect gourmet food and you will be fine. There are also dining experiences. Dine with Shamu is a good way to get face time with a trainer and a close up look at the killer whales. The making of Believe can be boring for some kids so they talk and it can make it hard to hear the video. There is also no gurantee that there will be any whales in the pool close to the eating place. Here is a link to all their dining experiences.

I hope this helps a little. Feel free to pm with any more specific questions. I have to say though that I don't know much about Discovery Cove and Aquatica. If I don't have the answer I have an idea about someone who does. Try to relax and enjoy you trip!

Thanks for your replies. I think since we are only spending on day there we will go to Sea World itself. Any other suggestions while we are there????

We ate at the Beer Place ...sorry I don't remember the name but its very obvious which place I mean when you get there..the sandwiches were great and large enough to share...the beer was great of course and they even have O'Douls!! We had fun it was laid back after Disney...

Oh thank god they have BEER! You never know! My DH prefers not to go to the MK because they don't serve beer. Thanks! I am sure we will be visiting that beer place!

I know what you mean, I am a WDW freak, but I am going to my first SW trip in 10 days, I am having a really tough time with not planning because I do not know how to plan.. anyone have a 1 day schedule that they stick to that they would like to share. Thanks! ( sorry if I hijacked:confused: )

I am also going for my first time next month. I have been looking at Seaworld's website for the times of the shows but they haven't been posted yet for the date I am going. It looks like its going to be tough to schedule all the shows and rides. Going to be a long day! :faint:

Oh, I am so glad I am not the only one in this boat! I just don't know where to go what to see. Although I am going to the "beer place" as some one else suggested!:cool1:

But otherwise a one day plan would really help! Anyone........

Every WDW trip for us includes a day or 2 (they often offer a second day for free) at Sea World. It tends to be less crowded than Disney, especially if you can go on a week day. We enjoy the relaxed nature of our Sea World days. You get a map with show times when you arrive; if you care about sitting close, try to get there 1/2 hour early. Otherwise, I suggest you take your time, enjoy the park, know you'll never see everything (just like Disney.) FYI the food and souvineers are cheaper there. And for the husband who liked beer; there is a beer tasting that is kind of fun...did anyone mention that there is free beer?

Depending on your budget, consider two days for Sea World/Discovery Cove. Discovery Cove is GREAT! We love swimming with the dolphins but love the sting ray pool and the aviary even more. With the Discovery Cove ticket you can get in to Sea World free on another day. That's what we're doing in December. I'm also a Disney person only usually but my nephew is a dolphin freak so we're headed back to Discovery Cove. And this time I planned enough time in the trip to add a day at Sea World, too.
