Well, only by about 15 years! :rotfl2:

I stopped scrapbooking after I got married. Between working full time and kids coming, I just stopped!

I have just gone through my scrapbook bin and have scrapbooks and pictures I have GOT to work on!

I also just ordered some more creative memories stuff and plan to get started when I get back from vacation next week.

Anyway, so glad I found this board!

I didn't start until the end of 2005 - I caught up kids and vacations but I've not touched "me" other than wedding and honeymoon. But there's always another story to tell....

Welcome Dawn!!

I to am behind. I just take one day at a time.

Pick a starting point and go from there. My fall back is Vacations. Disney is easy for me to scrap so that's what I've been working on lately.

CM has some beautiful things out lately so it will be easy to dive back in!!

We have monthly challenges to keep track of the number of pages we do. that will help inspire you to get moving!

I suppose I'd be behind, if I was on a schedule! After all, there are 60+ years of photos out there.

My advice is - Start where your interest lies, otherwise, you'll just give up.

Yes, Linda. That is what I am planning to do.

The first order of business is to make my parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary album. We had the party and I am collecting old photos (scanning them) and such.

I am trying to get organized for when my stuff gets here so I can just get going!

I don't have digital ability yet (and won't buy it until the Mac version comes), so it will be traditional scrapbooking.

Welcome to our little corner of the world.

We are supposed to be caught up in our scrapping? ;) LOL

Real life ganged up on me last year! Cardiac Cath, Knee Surgery, Father died new job and that so on! I did get some pics printed but thats as far as I have gotten . Lookinh forward to starting again soon where I left off.

Sound like what you should do too! Pick a poin and start there!

I am 38 years behind....I just started this new hobby a few weeks ago and I have scrapped a total of 6 pages....All of my cats. I still have one more cat to do. Then I will try my Disney vacations in the fall after we close the motel for the winter. Until Ocotber, I am so busy as I work 7 days a week with a minimum of 12hrs a day.

I am buying a bunch of Ikea furniture to organize my craft room. I still can't get over that I have an entire room (13' by 15') to use just for me. In the fall I plan to join the monthly tallies people do on this board and get cracking.

Ebay is so dangerous. I am up to $500 just this month alone. It's a lot of $$$ to get started but I will be mostly all set for a while.

I love the layouts people do on here and I have gotten a lot of ideas already.

Thanks all

Ho, boy, Sam! You sound like you're doing great in the acquisition department. But let the old lady warn you - you REALLY don't need all that stuff! And you may find having it stifles your creativity rather than helps it - some of us have been there done that:rotfl:

Don't worry.....It's not a lot really but I had to have all that Disney paper, I swear....LOL

:welcome:

check out Close to My Heart products -- their layout books are fantastic and I truly believe I am more efficient using them.

but most of all -- have fun! i'm soooo behind too, i'm not even trying to catch up

YIKES!

Well, I am starting with my $175 order from Creative Memories along with quite a bit of old creative memories stuff I never used.

Then I will save my pennies for getting a digital program for scrapbooking and a digital program for photo manipulation.

Welcome to the scrapping corner of the world!

I have to echo Lisa - we're supposed to be caught up?? I started in 2000 and bought about $300 worth of CM stuff; all of the tools I still use. My CM at the time said to stay current and then work on what interests me from the past. I've done pretty well at that. But, I went back to work full-time a couple months ago and I haven't even stepped foot inside my craft room except to grab some wrapping paper out of the closet  My goal is to do a couple pages a week but I won't beat myself up if that doesn't happen. It's a hobby, and hobbies are supposed to be fun, not anxiety producing ;)

P.S. Sam - my craft room is mostly all IKEA furniture and I love it!! Unfortunately, the bookcases are so big we had to build them in the room because they wouldn't fit through the door. If we ever move I think they'll be staying with the house!

I don't scrap in chronological order so I don't feel like I'm sooooo far behind :lmao:

I usually try and do a few LOs of our vacations and then work on the everyday life from there. I'm currently working on our Galapagos vacation (March 2010) which I'm hoping will be finished by the end of June-so far I have about 14 LOs done and since we took almost 6,000 photos - it's really hard choosing the photos to go into the LOs :rotfl:

The one thing I do have is a yearly spreadsheet of the monthly events and I do organize and label my photos. Once a month or so I look through all my sketches and try and put on the spreadsheet the sketch I want to use for a particular LO. This helps alot when I go on my weekend scrapping getaways.

I started at the beginning of kids, but now I've found I feel better if I just do current stuff (like vacations) and then work my way backwards.

I did what was most important to me first....each of the kids first year and our wedding. Those are done. Now I just pick and choose. I do current, but once in awhile I grab some older pictures and scrap those to change it up.

Welcome! I am also behind, and getting further behind by the day! It seems like I go through spurts....for awhile, I can't find any motivation to scrap at all, and then I find it and get a lot (for me) done in just a few days or so.

So for all of you that feel "behind" you need to read Stacy Julian's book "Photo Freedom". Once you read this you won't feel behind anymore, you'll have a whole new outlook on scraping and be totally re-enegized by the addition, I mean hobby.

She also offers an online class about what's in the book. I haven't taken it, just read this book and her previous one "the Big Picture" and now I tell everyone about it. I wish every new scrapper would read it before they start.

GO READ IT NOW! You'll love it
