I'm sorry--I know it is so incredibly hard! I was thinking of you today and hoping you'd post and let us know how you are doing. It sounds like your family has made the most of these last few days before the long separation. I have tears in my eyes thinking about the big goodbye, though. God bless you. When my DH left I tried to be "strong" for the kids (then 3 and 1) but I did cry (discreetly, I hope!) most of the day that DH was leaving. But for some reason as soon as we dropped him off and watched him walk away, the tears stopped, and I have only cried for him a few times since. I think the actual goodbye is the absolute worst part (especially when DH is saying goodbye to the kids ).

I will be thinking of you in the days to come. I think it is fantastic that you are going to Florida! Please keep us updated on how you and the kids are doing.

I'm so sorry your dh has to go. Deployments are terrible for the soldier and also for those he/she leaves behind. I will pray for your dh, that he comes home swifty and safely.

I know how hard this is to do with just you, you are brave to be strong for your kids. I think the build up to the leaving is always worse than the actual leaving.....

Allow yourself some time to yourself to be upset and you will be able to be stronger for your kids.
