So, my EP just emailed me back to inform me that because I am getting married on Labor Day weekend aka Holiday I would not be able to have an illumination party. She mentioned the private firework show but after hearing on here that it doesn't last long enough to get a good firework photo (the only reason I really wanted the fireworks) I don't think I will do that. I dunno, I meet with her next week and we will discuss everything. I hope we can work something out. I just had my heart set on having a photo with me in my dress and my df watching fireworks!!

What about the Fantasmic Dessert Buffet? I have never been to Disney, but I am planning a wedding/honeymoon combo for next year, so I've been researching. The Fantasmic lasts 25 minutes, and they do a dessert buffet. I think it's limited to like 20 people for the special viewing spot, though.

I'm confused - labor day is practically a year away, but your ticker says you are getting married on 8 months? Did you change your date?

I would inquire about the Fantasmic dessert party, although I dont think you can get the same type of pictures from that as you can from Illuminations. Which day of the weekend are you getting married? Can you do an Illuminations dessert party another day? for your welcome party or rehearsal dinner or for a farwell party? You won't be in wedding attire, but at least you get the picture.

I had the same problem. . . b/c our wedding is on 12/22/06 . . (X-mas week, high season) we could not have a Fantasmic or Illuminations Dessert Party. I really had my heart set on it, so, we are planning to have a Dessert Party at the Grand Floridian Marina and watch the Fireworks over the castle at the marina. You can even have the music from Magic Kingdom piped in, for a fee. I have pictures of the marina during the day. If you want, PM me and I'll send them to you. Also, I think Janet2k (a disboard member), had a dessert party at the Marina, and you can see the wonderful pics of the fireworks!!!! I hope this helps. . .good luck.

I am having a labor day weekend wedding also! I hope that isn't true bc I was planning on possibly having an illuminations dessert party (if it is in the budget!) I haven't spoke to my planner about that yet (still trying to get the locations sorted out) but I will ask next time I speak to her.

yes - it is so sad every time I think about .. I never thought that I wouldn't be able to have one.. Labor day never crossed my mind as being a problem. I am getting married on May 27, 2007 - That is a Sunday - the day before labor day monday. I will talk with her about the Marina thing.. that seems something maybe we can pull off. I hope! My wedding is at 7:30PM so the pre reception starts at 8:30.

Labor day is May 27 2007 so - I am pretty sure it is correct. It is September 15 and in 12 days it will the 27th and in 8 months it will be May. I think?! Haha.. I dunno ..

haha yea .. Memorial Day - I am clueless when it comes to which holiday is on which day/ month except for Christmas and Easter.

Madeese: Well, I had heard some where on this site that the Private Fireworks lasted very short for the amount of money you are going to spend. I mentioned this to my EP and she said, "Yes, the "private" firework does not last long, however, it lasts longer now than it has been lasting in the past - they have improved in length". So, we will see. She said it would last long enough for me to get atleast ONE good shot.

I am feeling a little better about this now.
