Everyone make mistakes and hopefully this has been sorted.

God gave us two ends, one to sit on and one to think with. Success in life depends on which one we use.

OP - where on the West Coast are you? We're in Sarasota.
Disney really was great about it all. Ben never called me back but I called and spoke to someone who helped me wonderfully. He's my new friend. I talked to him while I drove over the Sunshine Skyway. He is from Tampa so we chatted about the area while he processed it all. GREAT GREAT CM!
Do you have an original confirmation with the correct dates? I am so sorry this happened to you. Hoping for the best!
Melissa
All you have to do is fax your orginial confirmation with the dates on it, to prove you were not wrong.
I currently have 3 confirmation emails in my mail box. I have a folder called DISNEY and when I made this ressie (just 3 wks ago) I got the confirmation and just filed it away. I didn't even look at it until today - I know.. MY FAULT there.
Yeah, I knew I was correct. The day I made the ressies, I made my spreadsheet while on the phone (correct dates), put in my vacation request with work (correct dates), and filled out DDs vacation notification form for daycamp (correct dates). SO it was just a mix up but it was a great trip!
But you never ever said, if anything you had printed out or rec'd initially had the right dates? Just because your spreadsheet has the right dates, and all your other stuff was for the right dates, means in no way that what you or they did initially was correct? I dont understand, when it's something pretty darn important and expensive, why you wouldnt check, and double check dates? I'm not going til December and have already double checked ressies and ADR's. I'm just confused on this whole post.![]()
I am sorry that I confused you. With the short notice of my reservation and the great track record with previous reservations, NO I did not check when the email confirmation came in my mailbox. As stated, that was my error, and one I'll never make again. We are all human, humans make errors, but if we are intellegent we learn from those errors, which I have.
The dates on the email confirmation were to check in 8/2 not the intended 8/9 date. Checking the email confirmation and seeing the incorrect dates is what tipped me off to the problem. I never received confirmation in the mail (probably due to short notice of trip)Well you've just never answered the question. Did the emails that you rec'd have the wrong dates on them also? Or were they correct and just something got changed?
If you read through my update the trip was wonderful and everything magical that a Disney trip can be. DW was wonderful about it all and credited the lost deposit to my re-done reservation with no problem.dburg30 said:I guess I'll do the proper thing and hope that this gets worked out for you and send pixie dust your way and all.
Well you've just never answered the question. Did the emails that you rec'd have the wrong dates on them also? Or were they correct and just something got changed? I have no doubt that you'll alway check ressies from this point forward as soon as they are made. I mean, yea I do feel somewhat sorry for you, but only to a point since you didnt double check that they were for the right dates as soon as you got them.
I guess I'll do the proper thing and hope that this gets worked out for you and send pixie dust your way and all.
Sorry to hear about the mix up. They must have a lot of computer problems at the Disney Hotels. I'm renting through a DVC owner and today the owner made the reservation for me and everything seemed hunky dory. I was so excited I felt like doing backflips. She said she was just awaiting a confirmation # from MS and they couldn't do it then because their computers were down. Well then she gets a call from them saying they can't book it because they can only book AKV 7 mos out ( I'm booking in June 2008) She owns at AKV so should be able to book at 11mos out!
Angie, I'm so glad it got resolved. Enjoy AKV, it sounds like it is going to be awesome.
I have a good friend who has convinced DH to buy into DVC in the next couple of years. They want to stay at AKV and see if they like it then figure out where to buy. It sounds SO nice!!!
