I am on the phone with CRO IN TEARS!!!

Thanks everyone for being supportive. I posted an update here:
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1545336

Disney really was great about it all. Ben never called me back but I called and spoke to someone who helped me wonderfully. He's my new friend. I talked to him while I drove over the Sunshine Skyway. He is from Tampa so we chatted about the area while he processed it all. GREAT GREAT CM!

Yeah, I knew I was correct. The day I made the ressies, I made my spreadsheet while on the phone (correct dates), put in my vacation request with work (correct dates), and filled out DDs vacation notification form for daycamp (correct dates). SO it was just a mix up but it was a great trip!

And a few responses...

No matter whos fault it is..............it aint worth getting sick over. I'm sure Disney will do the right thing if it is their fault. If it isnt their fault, then YOU do the right thing.

God gave us two ends, one to sit on and one to think with. Success in life depends on which one we use.

Well my financial situation is really none of your business. But like I said in my original post. It was a lot TO ME. I budget each trip within $50 and have gotten really good at it. Each trip is paid with cash and never puts me into debt. It has allowed us to get APs this year and plan multiple trips this year. If losing $120 didnt matter to me, we'd not be able to enjoy the time at WDW that we do.

You don't know me personally and you don't know that I am very intellegent and think with the correct end of my body. I errored in not checking the confirmation. I learned that lesson.

Seriously... I have a wonderful life and I love every bit of it. This incident didn't stop the world from turning, it only gave me one not-so-easy night of sleep.

OP - where on the West Coast are you? We're in Sarasota.

We are in Bradenton! :) We were stuck on BTMRR Thursday with someone from Sarasota... you? lol

Hi,

Glad it worked out for you. found your post interesting because I know I booked for PORFQ. When our paperwork came it was POR. I was so upset at first. We leave in a few days and all will be good. Enjoy you trip too.

I talked to an awesome CM from Tampa the other day too. He was one of the nicest ones I've encountered in all of the calls I've made to CRO over the years. His name begins with a V and he's a Red Sox Fan even though he's lived in Tampa his whole life. :thumbsup2

Glad everything got worked out for you and hope your trip is wonderful.

Do you have an original confirmation with the correct dates? I am so sorry this happened to you. Hoping for the best!

Melissa

All you have to do is fax your orginial confirmation with the dates on it, to prove you were not wrong.

I currently have 3 confirmation emails in my mail box. I have a folder called DISNEY and when I made this ressie (just 3 wks ago) I got the confirmation and just filed it away. I didn't even look at it until today - I know.. MY FAULT there.

Yeah, I knew I was correct. The day I made the ressies, I made my spreadsheet while on the phone (correct dates), put in my vacation request with work (correct dates), and filled out DDs vacation notification form for daycamp (correct dates). SO it was just a mix up but it was a great trip!

But you never ever said, if anything you had printed out or rec'd initially had the right dates? Just because your spreadsheet has the right dates, and all your other stuff was for the right dates, means in no way that what you or they did initially was correct? I dont understand, when it's something pretty darn important and expensive, why you wouldnt check, and double check dates? I'm not going til December and have already double checked ressies and ADR's. I'm just confused on this whole post. :confused3

I am sorry that I confused you. With the short notice of my reservation and the great track record with previous reservations, NO I did not check when the email confirmation came in my mailbox. As stated, that was my error, and one I'll never make again. We are all human, humans make errors, but if we are intellegent we learn from those errors, which I have.

Catherine's Mama, I totally understand how you felt! I am a single mom and I work hard to be able to go on these trips and we ALL make mistakes! I received my confirmation not too long ago and my ME vouchers say I am leaving on 9/3 when I am really leaving 9/1. Never ever did I intend to stay until 9/3, so I am not sure where they came up with that date! Of course this is not severe like your situation, but Disney does make mistakes. After all, when we book with Disney over the phone, who's to say they are putting in accurate info? I will admit that I too, have received the confirmations and did not look them over thoroughly! I am glad everything worked out great for you, and wish some people on here wouldn't be so darn judgemental! As you said, we are all human and we all make mistakes and we can learn from them.:hippie:

Well you've just never answered the question. Did the emails that you rec'd have the wrong dates on them also? Or were they correct and just something got changed? I have no doubt that you'll alway check ressies from this point forward as soon as they are made. I mean, yea I do feel somewhat sorry for you, but only to a point since you didnt double check that they were for the right dates as soon as you got them.

I guess I'll do the proper thing and hope that this gets worked out for you and send pixie dust your way and all.

1) It is good that this issue got resolved.
2) It very well might have been a mistake by the reservation CM.
3) But, it could also have been an error by the guest.
4) I have PERSONALLY seen date errors made by people.
5) They write down one date, but mistakenly SAY another date.
6) In another case, I saw a lady READ the date wrong from her piece of paper.
7) The CM got blamed, when it wasn't his/her fault.

For our June trip in 2006, we booked for June. Our original email from TA had correct dates, all paperwork she sent from WDW had the correct date on it. About a month before the trip I became concerned because our final trip documents had not arrived. I contacted TA, and to make a long story short, the resor we booked was overbooked and in the process of checking reservations and capacity on WDW's end the month was changed to July instead of June. Our TA spent a few hours on the phone with them to straighten it out. In the end, our value resort was full, so we were moved up to the AKL instead. So, mistakes do happen but I think WDW will try and make it right.

The dates on the email confirmation were to check in 8/2 not the intended 8/9 date. Checking the email confirmation and seeing the incorrect dates is what tipped me off to the problem. I never received confirmation in the mail (probably due to short notice of trip)

If you read through my update the trip was wonderful and everything magical that a Disney trip can be. DW was wonderful about it all and credited the lost deposit to my re-done reservation with no problem.

Maybe you should read the whole thread.

So glad to hear all worked out well disney makes mistakes like everyone the people at CRO are humans too so they are bound to make mistake I agree that $120 is alot of money and i'm so glad your trip went well by the way you and your dd are so beautiful

:badpc: Sorry to hear about the mix up. They must have a lot of computer problems at the Disney Hotels. I'm renting through a DVC owner and today the owner made the reservation for me and everything seemed hunky dory. I was so excited I felt like doing backflips. She said she was just awaiting a confirmation # from MS and they couldn't do it then because their computers were down. Well then she gets a call from them saying they can't book it because they can only book AKV 7 mos out ( I'm booking in June 2008) She owns at AKV so should be able to book at 11mos out!

Well we found someone who could help us
so AKV here we come!!!!
HURRAY! I feel like dancin

Angie, I'm so glad it got resolved. Enjoy AKV, it sounds like it is going to be awesome.

I have a good friend who has convinced DH to buy into DVC in the next couple of years. They want to stay at AKV and see if they like it then figure out where to buy. It sounds SO nice!!!

Thanks I'm really glad that it worked out in the end for you too. Hopefull there won't be any botch in our reservation. I'll keep my fingers crossed.
Hope I see ya at AKV one day!:goodvibes

A whole bunch of us booked the All start sports in 1994 for 1999 New Year's Eve. (they let you do that back then). A friend took what she thought was a confirmation letter and threw it in a drawer. What she didn't know was that it was a letter asking her to comfirm that she wanted to keep the room as there was a huge waiting list to stay there.

She lost the room. We offered to have her stay in our room (we were just 2 then), because due to financial reasons she passed.

Of course this friend is the same one who bought 4 orchestra seats for Lion King and went a week too late.

She's only done this type of thing twice and both doozies.

I am so happy that you got everything right. And 120$ IS A LOT OF MONEY. Disney has no reason to keep that money, and the poster that said this has no reason to meddle with other peoples business.

Again I am glad everything worked out!

:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:
