a licensed driver!!!

IM SO EXCITEDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD.
how was your driving test experience?

CONGRATS :]
My driving experience was bad.. failed the first time and ABSOLUTELY FREAKED. probably something to do with a fear of failure...

Aced the second time a week later... yeah.

Ohh and here, you have to do like a week of classroom stuff and a test to get your permit (at 14 and 10 months), then you take 3 days of class and a test and a driving test to get your license (at 16).

Congratulations.
We have drivers ed for like a month here at our school, and we get our restricted.
Then we go in and get our drivers license, but we don't have to take a test.
We do like 2 weeks of bookwork and then 2 weeks of driving everyday.

But, the first day of driving, I backed up and drove up the curb.
And I was so nervous when he told me to turn left I went right.
I eventually got better.

Hooray!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congrats!!
No driving test here. We have to read the manual before taking a multiple choice test for our permit. Once we have our permit we have to complete a bunch of drivers ed - either at a driving school or your parents can teach you (but they have guidelines they have to follow). Once it's time to get your license, we just have to show the paperwork saying that we've completed drivers ed and we get the license.

Congratulations Sonya! Isn't it the best feeling? It's been almost five years for me this April 1.

First time I took it I passed maneuverability and was SO excited that I passed that that I somehow didn't completely stop at two stop signs. Went back to take the second part and passed with 100%.

Congrats!!

Wow, that's lucky.

We had to do a written test, which we could at 15 1/2, then take 24 hours of driving classes, then had to take the road test.

My first time was a disaster! I got this horrible old man who didn't say a word to me besides 'turn here, turn right up here, etc'. Part of the test took me where I had to turn off this cliff thing, and he said my turn was too wide. The road was tiny and I was trying not to fall off the stupid cliff! Anyway, he basically said 'turn was too wide there. practice more.' He didn't even actually say if I failed or passed.

But then the next time I went I was much more calm and got the sweetest older gentleman who chatted with me the whole time. At the end we congratulated me and said I looked very comfortable behind the wheel. I went and got my drivers liscense printed that very day!

It's funny how excited I was back then, and now driving is nothing fun or exciting. It's just something to do now. But I do find it pretty relaxing to take a quiet drive in the morning.

Congrats Sonya! Try not to hit anything. ;)

I passed on my first try, so I'm pretty lucky. First was parallel parking, which was a gigantic space thankfully. I managed to get my mom's behemoth mini van in there on my first try. Then it was just basic left, right, and u-turns. Each of my friends told me not to go the speed limit (40) so i went 30-35. The guy said I could speed it up a little lol. My appointment was at 3:45 but they were running behind so I didn't get in until 4:30. Needless to say I was the last of the day and the examiner just wanted to go home.

I'm sooooooooooooooooo happy!

ETA: And the way it works here is you can take your permit once you're 16, and then try for your license affter 6 months and 50 hours of driving. No driving lessons here, you have to get private tutoring or have your mom or dad teach you.

My driving test was four turns, all of them made at stop lights. I passed the first time, but I was so nervous I was going like 10 under the speed limit the whole time!

in tennessee when youre 15 you get your permit (written test) and after 6 months or when you turn 16 you can take the drivers test. then you have a limited license with rules until you're 18. once youre 18 you can drive whenever you want, and however many people you want.

Congrats!
I'm hoping to take mine sometime this month. :)

Yeah, I liked not having to take a driving test. We did have to complete over 50 hours of drivers ed though. It wasn't hard for me since my parents taught me, but I felt bad for those who had to go to an actual driving school.

That's kind of how it is in Texas. We don't have a driving test to get the license and we only have 6 months of restrictions after we get the license. After those 6 months you can drive around as many people as you want whenever you want. If you get your permit after you turn 18 you can get your license like, the next day if you wanted to and then once you get your license you don't have any restrictions.

In TN, if you get your license over 18, you don't do the permit, you just take the written, then the driving.

I consider myself to be lucky, because I took the test on the last day before my TELL (a permit) ran out. I ended up passing the test the first time, but I was driving a large suburban so it was hard to do the parking parts of the test.

I failed twice.
The first time I messed up my backing because I was really nervous, and the second I had passed the test but as I pulled in I hit this huge cement block. It was awful. They keep these stupid cement blocks that have a sign sticking out of them that says 'Parking for drivers test only' and I wasn't sure if I was all the way in. I pulled up less than an inch and I hit it.
I was devastated.
I had the same guy all three times that I took it. He was nice and French.

Our test is basic downtown driving, and I wouldn't call it hard, but it's like 30 times harder than the one Shelby took.

mine's in april. it would have been way earlier but i lostt my permit and had way too many things on my plate at the time.

but due to good grades, i got my own car... it's a 02 ford explorer. if you have pics of your car, feel free to share them

grats, sonya!!!!!!!
i still only have my permit...

Grats Sonya!!!

I'm in Driver's ed now, working on getting my permit. I've never been allowed to drive, except one time when I was 12 for about 15 seconds. >.>

Congrats!

It took me three tries.

The first time, I didn't signal 100 feet in advance, and that took off points each time I turned. And then she told me I backed up at 12 mph, which is too fast. But idk how she could possibly know that because my speedometer is digital and where only the driver can read it.

The second time I didn't even get to leave the parking lot. I had a freakin asthma attack (it was in the spring... nasty time of year) and the lady started freaking out. Like she thought I was going to kill her. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING???" My inhaler was in my purse which was with my mom in the DMV, so I got out of the car and this lady is freaking out at me. And then once everything was all good, she wouldn't let me take the test! "You need to come back when you're under control." Stupid lady.

Third time, I backed up too slow (for real that's what she said), but I still passed.

Uggg.... that was a traumatizing experience!
