We are coming to Disney in April and were wondering which water park is best for our kids. Our kids are 8 and 6, they can swim OK but not enough to let them go on their own. Which park has the best kids section. Thanks

We went to BB last trip and our kids were 11 and 7. There was plenty for them to do - and the theming was actually a little too realistic (we're from Minnesota!). We're going to try TL this time for a change of pace. But BB actually has a nice little kids area and a nice pre-teen, teen area. Have a great time!

When my kids were that age we always went to Blizard Beach and they always had a great time. There should be a lot for them to do even if they aren't the greatest swimmers. We will be trying Typhoon Lagoon for the first time next trip, it was always closed for rehab on our past trips, so I can't comment on what it is like.

Imho BB is the best. We do both every year. BB has the best family raft ride, a great pre-teen area with tube slides, ice bergs, a t-bar drop, and we love the theming. TL is also great but the wave pool can be very strong for the little ones, and as much as my kids now love shark reef when they were younger putting the mask and gear on really freaked them out.

No way!

TL is way better! For our family its all about the wave lagoon!

We loved TL but we had to watch our kids VERT closely in the wave pool. All my kids swim, the oldest two very well, but we still have to watch them with those waves! There is also a nice area for the young ones.

I can't comment on TL but we've always gone to Blizzard Beach, and absolutely love this water park. We like the theming of the park, and feel that there are many attractions designed for youger and older kids (and for adults too!). Our kids are 9,6,4 and really enjoy this park. Usually TL is closed whenever we go, but we hope to go there on our next trip.

Blizzard Beach! It definitely has the best kids' area. ::yes::

While I agree that Teamboat Springs is the best family raft ride, the tropical theming of TL is what makes me a repeat customer. Living in New England all that gleaming plastic white snow is a definite turn-off. I see enough of the real thing, and love floating among the fronds on Castaway Creek. Next visit it will have to be BB, since TL will be closed. (Sigh!)

We've done both at this point. We liked TL better. We aren't into the big slides. So, while BB is terrific, the tamer TL works out well for us. But, you do have to be careful in the wave pool. It's pretty incredible.

We always go to both, but for different reasons. We love the wave pool and lazy river at TL, but as far as a kid's section there is only one for the really young kids and then the regular slides. At BB we love the slides!! My DD also loves the ski patrol training area that I think your kids would love as well. I would think BB would meet your families needs best, but if there's any chance at all, try to hit the wave pool at TL.

Here's a link with a couple of pics of the ski patrol area.

We did TL last week and really loved it! We have never done BB, so we can't compare...but my kids (6 & 4) loved the wave pool, slides etc. I would think you will have fun at either one!!
