I am not complaining, but I've never won anything from the YMD.

My friend is a DVC member and hit it twice in the same day once....I started to get a little jealous...but then i to myself...I have been to Disney 64 days already this year. (yes, we spoil our kids....and us) and riding back to the MK parking lot on the monorail from EPCOT this last Saturday....I was sadly observing a couple that was having an arguement over a schedule, and started thinking:

We go so often that now I would almost feel guilty winning. Some people save for 2 years to get 7 days (often only 3 or 4 days) to enjoy the park. I truly believe in the pay-it-forward mind set. I would much rather help another family have a better experience at disney than ever win a YMD prize. (infact the only prize i would keep at this point would be the Night in Cinderellas Castle....but only for my wife)
I hope to win someday, but odds are that, we would give it to another family.

Then I hope you do win, repeatedly.
Maybe even in September...near a middle-aged slightly chubby lady and her gang...;) ...

Very very nice! I will confess that the one time I won, I kept the Dream Fastpass for myself because it was a very busy day and I won at Epcot (Soarin'! Soarin'!). But I know how lucky I am to be local, so throughout the year I try to find ways to pay it forward and bring a little smile to the faces of fellow guests for whom a WDW visit is a rare treat.

I love being local! We go to MK all the time after 5pm and stay for the fireworks....or do dinner at Germany at 430pm and sing along with the ompah band. My wife and I love Wolfgang Puck and Canada for Dinner.

That was a good attitude to take. :)

I have been only twice during YOAMD and have sent in hundreds of postcards and have won nothing either. I feel blessed that I can go back to WDW next year.

I'm local also, go ALL THE TIME, and have only seen the dream team ONCE. That was last weekend going onto Buzz Lighyear, and they were giving out the ears, they stopped with the 2 people in front of ds and I, I was a little bummed, was hoping to win at least something, but hey, that's alright!! Like the op said, it is a blessing to be able to go so much.

Don't feel bad, I never win either. I have won $500 gambling on a cruise ship and coach class tickets to London and back. Well our son was born and adopted and there was no way I was taking an infant to London (it was a 10-11 hr flight from Los Angeles where we were living at the time). So I was kind enough and gave them to my parents because they have been so self-less when it has come to all of us kids. My mom couldn't get the time off of work so my sister went with my dad. Oh, and I won those airline tickets by default. The rule was you had to be present to win and they called at least 8 or 9 names before they pulled mine because no one who had entered and been drawn was still there.

But for the most part, I don't win anything. I am one of the most unlucky persons. DH too. I don't want to win all the time, but I get frustrated when I hear people say, "I win all the time!" Good for you. Yes I'm a bit bitter.

I'm hoping to win in October when we go but I'm not counting on it. I'll just have to oh and ah over those that I see with Dream FP's and the cool YOAMD Mickey ears.

We've never won anything either and I think we have been something like eight times. Once at MGM (oops Hollywood Studios) the dream team was giving out ears and just as I made it to them after standing in line, they zipped up thier bag and walked away. Well excuse me, after all I patiently waited in line! Hoping next trip maybe something, fingers crossed. :thumbsup2

This will be our (upcoming in 33 days-yeah!) 3rd trip during YOAMD and we have won ears, lanyards, asked to lead a parade, & the kids were asked to do small games & received certificates. It's great to win something, and we are really lucky to be able to go 1 more time to Disney while it's still going on-I think if I won ears/lanyards again I would give them to a child & I know my family would feel the same. Now a stay in the castle....I'm not sure I could give that away-that to me would be a dream come true! We did see a family get the castle stay last year-actually we were walking thru it & saw the family aside. I'm happy to just go-but winning is fun!!! Good luck to ALL of us!!!

I've never won anything either - and we do only go once a year. I'm excited to maybe get to MAKE some of those dreams come true when I become a Disney Cast member in just a couple of weeks though. In fact, like you, I would rather have someone else win. Even when we went down for a week in May, we saw people getting dreams, and I think I'd give mine away. There's something more magical about giving than receiving.

I've been to Disneyworld 5 times since YOMD began and I have won nothing.
One time last year I saw some members from the dream team throwing little boxes on the floor for the group of TOT riders that got off right after me.Oh so close!I still have one more trip before the promotion ends so I still have a chance to get a dream. It's not really something that I spend a lot of time thinking about because I'm too busy enjoying my vacation.

We have been to WDW once and it was during the YOAMD and won a few times. We did give our FPs for EE and Safari away. We were heading out and we made a few people very happy. :flower3:

Sounds like me and DH...after the first couple of trips and won nothing, I started thinking it was because it was just the 2 of us....but luck and timing have alot to do with it. Personally, it doesnt matter to me either, as long as Im in WDW that is my dream. :lovestruc ..but a castle stay...now thats a different song and dance!!!:rotfl2:

I've been on four vacations to WDW since "Year" of a Million Dreams began. I have not gotten a dream or magical moment from the Dream Team but we have had great times.
I DID win $700 on a dime slot machine earlier this year at a casino in South Dakota, so all is not bad.:goodvibes

I'll take it one further.. I've never won anything in my LIFE... from Disney or any other entity.

Nothing with a higher value than a "FREE TICKET" in the scratch lottery. No free toaster from my bank... no free oil change at my car dealer ... no quilt from the ladies auxillary at church... nada.

Why would my experience be any different at YOAMD? :)
