I Am NOT a Bad, Bad Baby -- TR final updates 9/12

Joining in! I have a 4 hour car ride to Bristol, TN to take later this evening. I plan on catching up then while DH is driving. I can't wait!

Nice way to end the day -
balloons - :littleangel::flower3:
turtle krawl - :drinking1
Ice cream - :mickeybar

And fun at Animal Kingdom! - love that you got to see so many animals and got to meet Lisa and family - They are also famous DISers!!! Love her TRs as well!

Hope you have a nice holiday weekend!

I saw on FB that Mary was boarding for the cruise - hope they have a great trip!!

Love, love, love that safari! :cheer2: It's just the best, isn't it? And I agree with you about the giraffes - they are so cute!

The safari is one of my favorites too. You always seem to catch something new (that was the first time I saw the jaguar).

The selfie with Hunter is adorable! How fun! Glad you had another successful/fun DIS meet. :thumbsup2

Hunter is a real hoot! It was fun meeting them all.

The girls don't look to happy on the bus! Luvin all the safari pics and the pics from the dis meet

They weren't awake yet. :rotfl: Thanks, Emma.

Hunter can snap a mean selfie :goodvibes Awesome!!! :cool1: Your AK pics are great!!! And  I love the balloon for Dad

Jeanette, Hunter just cracked me up. Thanks...it was fun getting the girls balloons.

Awesome dis meet! I am reading Lisa's trip report right now and they seem hilarious.

It was so much fun. I've known Lisa for at least five or six years on here and love her reports.

I like Hunter's selfie, that takes some skill to accomplish :rotfl:

I am terrible at taking selfies. :lmao::lmao:

I remember the two of us texting back and forth. We sat on that darn safari Jeep for 50 forevers just waiting on those giraffes to get their behinds off the road. At least they had the decency to stick around so we could see them when it was our turn to drive by.

I was hoping they'd still be around when we got there too!

Ya'll were just sitting there waiting on us and I couldn't help but run over and give ya'll hugs! Even though we had been friends on the Dis for years, it was so very nice to actually meet you and see Mary and the girls again.

If I hadn't been sitting, I probably would have beat you at the run. It was a thrill meeting the famous Lisa and her wonderful family. :)

That Hunter...what can I say about that boy? He is such a sweetheart and a hoot to boot.

He is both definitely!

I love the balloon in memory of your dad! Great tradition!

Thank you. It gives me a good feeling doing that for him because I know how much he loved doing it for his grandchildren.

Nice safari pics! Giraffes and elephants are my favorites.

Giraffes are definitely mine and elephants are definitely Mark's.

Glad you had a good Dis meet!

Thanks.

I Love the Balloon giving !! Christine does that in memory of her son too!!! I did one trip tht she was unable to make and the look on the little boys face was priceless !!

Thanks, Rosie. I know Christine does it; her son and my father died on the same day (different years). That was nice of you to do for her.

Okay, I've been away for a few days but I'm back and all caught up!

No worries, Alan; it happens to me all the time.

First of all, sorry about Mark's situation. Please let him know we will be thinking about him and keeping you all in our prayers. Hope things work out for the best.

Thank you.

Great updates! And what a great sentiment to give balloons to the girls as you exited Magic Kingdom! Being a long time reader of your trip reports, I know all about the tradition....and this almost made me cry. I know your father would be proud! :goodvibes

Awww...thanks; now you made me cry.

Old Key West looks like such a lovely place! That's pretty cool that you all had went for a snack by the pool.

It's a great resort; I think your family would like it.

Ahh...Animal Kingdom day! I love that the girls are all still made up from the previous day. Heck yeah! Keep that alive as long as it will last!

I'm not sure how long it lasted, but it was good to see that it lasted that night and they touched up their lips as they got the leftover make-up.

Oh my goodness!!! SOOOOO jealous!!! A meet between many of my DISboard friends at the same time I was there...and yet I wasn't there! That is wonderful that you all got to meet Lisa and her family! (mickeystoontown) That's a great DIS meet photo! ::yes:: It always makes me happy to see DIS meets, but especially those when I feel like I'm friends with both parties!

It would have been even more perfect if you had been there. And I certainly consider you a friend.

Still loving every minute of the trip report Kathy and Mary!

Thanks, Alan.

Oh GOOD FOR YOU!!! Great Dis meet!! So happy you were able to meet your friends..

Thanks, Mo. It had been a long time coming.

And now going over to mickeystoontown to read!!! :cool1:

You will love Lisa's TR.

Love the Safari... And you can never have too many animal pictures.

Thanks, Darla. I don't know how one couldn't love animals.

YAY!! for a DISmeet! Love Hunter's selfie -- I've always liked pictures where you can see the reflection in someone's sunglasses.

Me too...I think it is so cool.

I can see the girls enjoyed their makeovers from the previous day as they still had much of the make-up on :)

Yes; they refused to wash their faces.

love all the animal pics and the giraffes are definitely the most consistent great part of the safari!

Totally agree with you Philip...love the giraffes.

Yeah for DISmeets! Especially one you were so looking forward to!

I enjoy all of my DIS meets; this one had been a long time coming.

You have wonderful luck on the safaris! I always feel like we are the people who are looking at a bush that could or could not be hiding an unknown animal!:confused3:rotfl2: We had a bit better luck this time, but not as good as you!!

I think a lot of it has to do with the time of day. Trust me, there have been times that we didn't see many animals at all.

Love your Dis meet!! Fun!! I realized after my impromptu meet with Lisa and family that we didn't get a photo! What was I thinking!?

I'm just happy you got to meet Lisa and family.

Yay for AK! It's definitely up there with Mk to be my favourite!! Love the theming there so much, it's just such a different world from the other parks imo! And yay for dismeets!! :cool1:

Katt, AK has definitely moved up on our list over the years. We definitely prefer it over the Studios and sometimes we enjoy it more than Epcot. I love DISmeets and I know you've had quite a few of your own.

I'm with Avery when it comes to AK....... It might be my overall favorite too! :goodvibes It might not be as ride and attraction intensive in the "typical" sense, but there is so much to explore and discover if you take full advantage of the park......... and the attractions are never quite the same because of the animals. ....... so you always get the feel of a new experience. :thumbsup2

I couldn't have said it better, Marv. I just wish they weren't adding the Avatarland thing.

What? No giraffe pics??? :confused3 :rotfl2: I love the picture of the three-legged warthog. ::yes::

I could go back and get the ones I didn't post if you'd like. :lmao::lmao:

Looks like you had a great DISmeet with Lisa and her family. Lisa reminds me a lot of my sister. ...... when she was younger. :) My sister. ... Not Lisa :rotfl:

I think you should stop while you are ahead. ;)

Great tradition, and even better when you can do this for a child you love.

Awww....thanks, Mark.

Were they eating the tourists again?

That's good!

Giraffes? Where? I didn't notice. :confused3:rotfl2:

HA HA!

:hyper:

I take that as a yes, or you didn't get any sleep with the baby? :rolleyes1

Cool! They look like a lot of fun. I haven't read her TR's yet but have seen her around on the boards.

She's been around awhile; they are wonderful people.

Joining in! I have a 4 hour car ride to Bristol, TN to take later this evening. I plan on catching up then while DH is driving. I can't wait!

:welcome::welcome: thanks for joining. I hope you have a good time in Bristol, TN. I don't know exactly where that is (my best male friend lives in Adamsville, TN).

Nice way to end the day -
balloons - :littleangel::flower3:
turtle krawl - :drinking1
Ice cream - :mickeybar

I'd say just about perfect.

And fun at Animal Kingdom! - love that you got to see so many animals and got to meet Lisa and family - They are also famous DISers!!! Love her TRs as well!

It was a great way to start our morning; her TR's are so much fun.

Hope you have a nice holiday weekend!

I'll be spending mine visiting my mom at the Rehab home, cleaning, etc., while Mark is doing 12 baseball games. :sad2:

I saw on FB that Mary was boarding for the cruise - hope they have a great trip!!

I did too; I knew they were doing an Alaskan cruise with her inlaws but wasn't sure of the exact time.

You got some great pictures from the Safari Kathy :-)
Yay, for the DIS meet, looks like fun and cool you got to meet at last

Hunter cracks me UP!!!!! :rotfl2:

This is such an awesome shot of all you lovely ladies! Just beautiful!

I am thrilled that you got to meet one another. I would love to meet Lisa and her family too!

Was that a baby rhino in one of those pictures? You really knocked it out of the park with your safari pictures. Great job! Love all the animals, especially all the giraffes. But where are the animatronic lions? :rotfl2:

Reporting back after being absent for way too long. (I blame the last week of school and an unplanned trip to Paris for that ;))

What a great trip so far - there is just too much to comment on (as I was several pages behind) but I love the story behind your headline and the girls, even though they have grown so much, are still so cute.

Love reading along. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Linda. The animals were up and about that morning.

Hunter cracks me UP!!!!! :rotfl2:

He was a hoot! I really liked him.

Thanks, MaryEllen. It is one of my favorite pics from the trip.

I hope some day that you can.

Yes, the baby rhino was hiding behind his momma. We were very lucky with the active animals. All except, that is, for the lions. They were no where to be found. :(

Welcome back. I hope you had a wonderful time in Paris.

Thanks, Karin. It was a funny moment with Avery and we laughed so hard I almost had a tummyache. Yes they have grown, but they are still sweeties.

I'm all alone and in no mood to clean. Andy is with Des at a picnic and Mark has three games. I've got dinner cooking in the oven so I thought I'd post an update.

We had just met Lisa, John and Hunter and got caught up. The girls were really wanting to do a ride that Miss Kathy just can't do...especially after almost losing my lunch last year. So they sweetly asked Hunter and he agreed to do it with them.

So we walked over here:

Mary, Lisa, John and I visited while the "kids" went on the ride. As they came off, I snapped a couple of pictures:

Unfortunately, it was time to say goodbye as we had a lunch ADR to get to. We bid farewell to our friends and started to walk to our destination. Along the way, the monkeys were out and the girls wanted to stop and watch for a few minutes.

We soon arrived at our destination and we were all starving.

Does that picture tell you where we are eating?

If not, how about this one?

No; well here you go:

This is a favorite of ours; we ate there in December and had to come back on the girls trip.

I love this light fixture in the waiting area:

This was the view from our window on the second floor:

I ordered a Pina Colada to quench my thirst:

More views from our window as we waited for our food:

Soon our food started arriving. I think this was Mary's dish:

Avery ordered pot stickers for her meal (after both of the girls helped share my appetizer one of them).

I had the sweet and sour pork as I always do.

We finished up lunch and it was time to move on. But where to? Find out in the next update.

We met Lisa (mickeystoontown) and her husband John and son Hunter.

Is that John in Hunter's Selfie?? So wonderful you were finally able to Meet Lisa and her family. I have enjoyed her trip reports as well over the years.

Great update! You got a lot of great animal photos! I can't believe the girls makeovers lasted over night! That is some quality Disney Magic right there! Looking forward to seeing what the girls talked Hunter into!

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: we were posting at the same time (new update with what Hunter did is up).

Yes, you are right. That is John in the glasses. I was disappointed that we didn't get a group shot, but he is in the "spotlight" there. Her trip reports are always good for a good chuckle.

We did well with the animals. I was amazed how well Avery's stayed.

I love it when DIS kids get to meet and do things together. They don't seem to think their parents and other adults are crazy - they just know they have the green light to have fun with these new stranger-friends. :thumbsup2

I've had some of the counter service Yak & Yeti food, but we have an ADR for the real deal on this coming trip. I am looking forward to getting pictures of the only AK restaurant we have not eaten in.

Nice end to your day: Balloons for the girls, yummy snacks and drinks at the pool.

Goodnight!

And Good Morning!

Your DISmeet was EPIC!!! DIS Royalty as far as the eye could see. I haven't met any of you, but your heart comes through in both of your trip reports. I'm sure that it was very special when you were all together. That is awesome that Hunter went on PW with the girls. Great picture when they were done.

We had one great meal at Yak & Yeti, but it has been 6 years since we have eaten there. Wow- that's probably too long.

:goodvibes:

How nice that Hunter rode the "Rosie Ride" with the girls. :thumbsup2 Hard to believe you can do Everest and Primeval Whirl has that affect on you though.

I love Yak and Yeti! What a great place to eat......I've always enjoyed my meals there!

Somehow I thought I had posted on some of your updates, but I guess I didn't. :confused3 Anyhow, I'll post on these last two updates....

Love the safari pictures, we have been pretty lucky with animal sightings on our trips, the only thing we've never seen is the Lions awake  They are always sleeping. Since you love giraffes, I'll tell you we got a video of one of the kid giraffe's running (what is a kid giraffe called? do they have a special name?)

Looks like a super fun DIS meet. So nice of Hunter to ride with the girls.

Have never really been interested in Yak and Yeti, but your plates look yummy, I may have to look at that menu again.

Can't wait to see what else your day holds:goodvibes

Happy 4th

Great dismeet...

Yak & Yeti, we are trying there for the first time this trip in September. Hope it's as good as it looks?

Pina Colada...yummy, my fav!!

Great update...thanks for sharing!

I only ate there once !!! I ad the shrimp and beef , it was just okay but the fried wonton dessert was delish!!! I have to try it again and try something different as my entrée !!

HAPPY JULY 4TH KATHY!

I didn't even notice that John was "in" the picture too! Didn't even notice that before. I wonder why we didn't think to get John in the "real" picture? Probably giddy that we were finally meeting up.

I haven't gotten to my Animal Kingdom pictures yet to see if the picture that I snapped of the kids on Primeval Whirl turned out. Remember me standing on that tire/rock/whatever it was trying to get a picture of them?

Yak & Yeti huh? It's never even been on our radar but the food looks really really good.

Oh my gosh....we LOVE Yak & Yeti SO much! I swear it is the one place that all four of us INSIST on when we are at Animal Kingdom. I think we've eaten here four times now and every single time it was a hit!
