Is it possible for non-participants to hang out with the runners? I was thinking I could hang out with DH and get pictures for him before the race. I would need to figure out how to get back to the hotel though. Do the buses take people back that early? It looks like it's shaping up to be a good run.

Before the race starts yes. Once they cross into the corral areas non participants can't go through into that area. The area with the DJ and pictures is free for everyone though. I don't believe buses take people back that early so I don't know how you would go back to the hotel until runners start finishing.

I arrived probably 3:20ish? The character probably weren't out until 3:45ish. I was standing right there when the characters came out so the line wasn't bad at all. They have CMs and volunteers who help with the lines. The lines also go very quickly since its "get a picture and go".

Thanks! For now I only run Disney races because I enjoy it so much. The training part of course isn't that much fun but the event makes it all worth it.

Almost a mile walk to the corrals ... that's pretty crazy. I can't imagine walking a mile before a half marathon (although hopefully I'll get to do it eventually). It's awesome that they had some entertainment for the walk!

You made good time on the first two miles. I can't wait to read about the rest of the race!

I made sure to take photos of a lot of things. It also helps pass the time when you're there so early.

Yeah the DJ guy kept reiterating the walk to the corrals and I didn't really take him seriously until I had to do it.

I hope you get to do a Disney half someday soon. I love the 10K and 5k but the half is a whole other level.

Yes I want to say I was doing about a 9:30 mile for the first few especially because I didn't do any stops for photos.

I would have a hard time not stopping for all the characters if I was running!

Great start to the race recap I like getting there early too. It just gives me some added peace of mind and makes the process less stressful for me. I've only done Wine and Dine and Tower of Terror, and neither of those had a long walk to the corrals. I'm surprised that it's a 20 minute walk! I'll have to remember that if I do January race weekend in the future.

It is quiet fascinating which is part of the reason I keep doing them. I did stop for a lot of characters but the first mile or so doesn't have any really.

Yep, I'd rather be early than late. Some day I'll do wine and dine! I believe princess and maybe Star Wars will have a similar walk.
