I am never riding Space Mountain again! A Marathon Weekend TR Complete

Already waiting on the ladies...its going to be the story of your life. Trust me! I am trying to get caught up. I have totally slacked lately in reading and commenting on TR. So ready for summer to get here.

My son love the animatronics too...in fact there is a community college near by that specializes in them and several of the students have gone on to work for Disney. That is one of the career paths he is considering.

I like stopping at the garden railway oo. Interestingly it was put in one year for the flower an Garden festival and just left a few years ago Disney even put out a trains eye video of it on the youtube channel.

Thanks for sharing that video!

I have two sisters so I'm always waiting on the ladies!

That's okay and I wish summer would get here too.

That's awesome! That seems like it would be a fun career path. Disney just released a small close up of the avatar animatronics and those will be the most advanced AAs ever done. I'm going to be going into civil engineering and hopefully someday get to work for Disney.

So many great character meet pictures! I think your 'munk ones are my favorite- especially that one with your sister sandwiched in the middle. Of course, the 'munks are my favorite so I'm biased!

I LOVE living with the land! There's so many interesting things to see in there you could ride again, and again.

Yeah the chipmunks were great!

Living with the land is a must do in my opinion.

I love Epcot. I am so disappointed that we didn't see the trains or even really visit Germany much:( DFIL collects model trains. DH used to help him. DS now likes them too. So the model trains in Germany are some of our favorites. Looking forward to your meal in France. We haven't eaten at a TS there yet, so I am thinking about it for the next family trip (in 2017).

I love the trains there are just so many details in that setup.

This was my first time eating in France ever other than getting some sorbet.

Halfway to the finish!

After the mile 6 marker we head past Splash mountain into backstage where the Festival of Fantasy parade comes out. That is where the train was stopped for photo ops! Now as you'll see if the first photo I was a lot of people lay down as if they were going to get run over by the train. I didn't try that.

Then we were officially backstage. Some Festival of Fantasy floats were out but that line was long so I didn't stop.

We then left backstage on turned onto a road and this is where the world famous Cone Alley is! Let me tell you cone alley is no joke. There are so many cones they must rent out all of central Florida! Mile 7 marker.

This road runs right by the Grand Floridian. Outside the GF was the penguins, Mary Poppins and Bert! Again a very long line so I didn't stop. I did get a shot of the penguins though.

We passed by the Magnolia golf courses next and Goofy and Donald were out meeting in their golf gear so I had to stop! Unfortunately Donald went to take a break but Goofy stayed out so I only got him. Better than nothing!

Mile 8! We only have 5.1 left!

There must not have been anything interesting between Mile 8 and 9 because my photos go right to 9.

Passing by the other side of the hot air balloon now.

Mile 10! Only a 5K left. I got this!

These couple miles didn't have much entertainment I think.

The green army men were around here somewhere yelling at people to keep going. No pictures though.

I see Spaceship Earth! I am going to make it!

Scrooge McDuck did not have a line at all so I stopped.

The Genie was also around here but I didn't stop. He was in his vacation gear so I regret not stopping.

The Choir! They were great!

Mile 13! I can taste the finish!

There she is!

And a bad selfie of myself with my medal!

That folks is my Half Marathon experience! I loved every minute of it. Was it easy? No, I would be lying if I said I wasn't tired but I actually wasn't as tired as I thought I would be. Would I do it again? Of course. Do I want to go bigger? Yes. And yes I plan on being back next year. Registration is in 23 days!

After getting my medal I grabbed my snack box and powerade and water. I walked out and saw they were doing the presentation for the top finishers. I was amazed that Jeff Galloways son came in second using the galloway method. Jeff was to the right of me in the crowd cheering for his son and the other runners. After seeing the winners I headed for the buses which had a long line but went quickly. I was back at the BC in no time and got cleaned up as we had a full day in the parks!

Up Next: I have to show off my medal!

except for the fact that I am in no way ready to run the half next January reading this part of the report has me more excited about it than ever! I really have to get to doing some more intensive training for this thing!

I used the galloway plan. If the days don't work for you, you can switch them around. That plan worked best for me because long runs were on the weekend. Start out with shorter runs and then work your way up.

I used his plan to go from the couch to the 5K. I plan on sticking with his plan to get to the half by next January. My mother thinks I'm crazy...so does DW. oh well!!!!

I really loved the new animatronics in Mexico - I was definitely glad that Disney took them out of storage and put them in!

I love the model trains. I don't know why, because I wasn't a huge train person as a kid (we had some trains and a track, but I never really got into it), but for some reason I just love stopping and watching the trains! We didn't really stop to look at them on the last trip ... which I guess means we have to go back!

Yes +1 to Disney for once for adding those. They don't get a lot of +1 these days.

I love watching them as well. We probably wouldn't have stopped to see them if it wasn't for the potty break!

Of course you have to show off your medal!

Walking through the WS countries before they are open is such a cool experience. I love it every single time!

Glad you were able to hook up with your folks in EPCOT, to celebrate King Henry's BD! That is too funny, especially about the tape over his name.

Spaceship Earth is a great start- I love that attraction.

I have never seen a photopass photographer by M:S. You got some great photos with your sisters there!

Cool TT car.

My dream car, a Corvette.

Little Red Corvette :(

King Henry warmed up to it thankfully.

SSE is a great place to start.

Yeah I haven't noticed a PP over by MS either but we got some photos without my parents knowing.

I actually get the corvette reference! Sad for the music industry.
