Ok, here are my symptoms:

  1. Frequent lightheadedness, dizziness, feeling faint even when just sitting
  2. Sudden severe, but short, headaches
  3. Difficulty staying awake in the car (as a passenger lol), when sitting on sofa watching tv, asleep within minutes of head hitting pillow
  4. Sleep apnea
  5. Feet/toes tingle and get numb after being on treadmill or elipical after 15 or so minutes

There are a few more things that go back to specific events, such as not being able to breath while hiking in Hawai'i. (I honestly thought I was going to die b/c I couldn't breathe.)

However, those are the almost daily symptoms.

I know where my mind goes when looking at the above list. Your thoughts?

Yes, I am waiting on doctor's office to call me back to make an appointment. But I thought I'd freak myself out a little while waiting. lol

ETA: I am anemic and take Iron daily.

Before I read your ETA statement, my first thought jumped to a vitamin/mineral deficiency--either iron or Vitamin B12.

DH has some similar symptoms -- turns out for him it was a mold (and other) allergy. We were able to isolate his symptoms, which seemed worse when the mold count was higher, or when we visited areas with pine trees.

Best wishes.

Those symptoms could fall under the category with thyroid issues...
Should be something screened in addition with routine bloodwork.

Whatever it may be, I hope you find out what is causing it all, best wishes...

Sounds like a vascular problem to me. Glad you're going to the doctor!

I was going to say it sounds like some kind of asthma/bronchial thing (potentially caused by allergies).

But, I'm not a doctor, I don't play one on tv, and I didn't stay at a Holiday Inn last night.

Thank God you are making an appointment!:lmao:

I was going to say the same thing. Thyroid imbalances cause an enormous amount of symptoms. I'm hypothyroid and when it's bad, I am so very tired that it's hard to focus on anything. Headaches are very common for me too, mostly because of the low blood pressure associated with hypothyroidism. Dizziness is another huge symptom for me. Sometimes it feels like I'm going to float out of my body! It's so weird.

Definitely insist on a full blood work-up (especially since you're anemic) and a full metabolic panel too. Make sure they test your thyroid TSH level, thyroid antibodies and also vitamin d level. I hope you feel better soon!:goodvibes

OK, I didn't have all your sypmtoms (the tingling toes), but early in my twenties I noticed I was suddenly getting really dizzy (to the point I would feel like I might pass out), super tired all the time (also falling asleep as soon as I sat on the couch) which is very unlike me, and headaches that came out of no where. I went to the Dr. certain that I was dying. I just knew I had cancer.
I was pregnant :lmao:
Not saying that is the case for you!!!! Just my experience.

Whatever it is I hope you feel better soon!!!

I'm not an M.D., but just wanted to mention about the short severe headache thing - that could be due to aspartame aka Equal. I used to get headaches that were like a lightning bolt, usually at one specific area in my head. Many M.D.'s thought it was a pinched nerve. Someone I met mentioned that he had had the same thing and that it was aspartame. Since I've eliminated my consumption of Equal, the headaches have gone away.

For all the other symptoms - sounds like you'll need some testing. Good for you for knowing when to see someone.

Hypoglycemia? A lot of that could be caused by your blood sugar dipping too low. Are you eating a good mix of protein and carbs? Was it quite awhile from the time you ate to the time you worked out or went on the hike?

Are you being treated for sleep apnea ?
Have a cpap machine?
Many of your symptoms are similar to the one's I had
before I was diagnosed with sleep apnea.

Hope it's something easy to 'fix', feel better soon.

I had my thyroid checked out several months ago. They tested the thyroid enzymes and the antibodies and all was well.

No aspartame. I'm not much of a diet soda drinker and I hate equal and sweet n low. I like spenda.

monekybug, I better not be pg! lol

tink, I thought it sounded vascular too. I had an uncle that could fall asleep anywhere, snored, needed a CPAP, etc...he died at age 50 of heart failure.

I sure wish she would call back.

Oh, the reason I'm waiting on the dr. to call me is because I don't currently have a general practictioner. I'm getting a recommendation from my dermatologist. lol I have a gynecologist and a dermatologist but no family physician! :sad2:

I'm sending positive vibes your way, that she'll call soon! Don't guess your gynie can handle this one, lol.....unless monkeybug's right ;)

You're exercising too much and not getting enough vodka & Red Bull. That's all I got:confused3

I don't have any advice, but I hope you're feeling better soon.

Maybe a severe sinus infection?

My friend had one last year that caused a lot of the same symptoms as the OP is experiencing. Dizziness, exhaustion to the point of not being able to function etc. Feel better OP, I hope it's something as simple as that.

I actually had a lot of those symptoms a few years back and when I went in, I had a double ear infection. I would have never known....I wasn't in any pain. After a round of antibiotics, I was all better!

I hope you feel better soon!

I know a number of people who get the tingling sensation in their toes on the elliptical, so that one might just be normal :)

I could see maybe the falling asleep easily and headaches being tied in to sleep apnea because those could be side effects of not getting enough sleep at night from the apnea.

Hope you are feeling better soon :)
