I Am Just Curious As To How Many Of You Are Trying To...

I was wondering how many of you are trying to put together the DS state set? my big ? is how difficult are you finding it to put all the pins together. i am thinking of doing it but i am very hesitant. the pins all look the same except for the flag and the logo. so i was just curious to see whats going on. i see the trade board flooded with i have this state for trade and that state for trade, so it is actually interesting to see it all happen,ttfn.

I had no intentions of trying to complete the set of state pins, but after successfully trading for IL (me and Walt's hometown state) and GA (my wife's), MO (where Walt grew up) and CA (home of you know what!)....I was hooked.

So far I have made about a dozen succesful trades, but am finding it harder and harder each day to get another.

My only plan was to get as many WA and BC pins as I could and try and trade them for as many pins as I could. I felt it was going to be darn difficult to get a whole set, but if I got 9, 17, 29 or whatever that was fine with me. I would really like to get pins for each of the states I've visited but since one of those is Alaska that's not exactly likely.

I've managed to get 21 so far and I still have a few WA's left, my aunt is sending me a few IL and I've still got most of my BC pins since the other CA provinces (except Ontario) are being difficult.

I am going to see how many I can get. Trying first to trade for states that mean something to me and/or my Family then going after whatever else I can find. Not going to go nuts over it but it does give you something to work on.

I wasn't planning on doing this but I have 21 so far and still have plenty of Oregon pins left. We only bought our limit on Saturday but went back to the DS on Sunday and they had plenty left so we decided to try and get as many as we could. Things were pretty hot yesterday but have slowed down.

I think what will happen is that we will get the bigger states with more disney stores and lag on the smaller states since they seem to have only a few to begin with. DH and I were talking. If someplace like Alaska only got about 50 or so pins than only 50 people will get complete sets except the people in Alaska would have to trade other pins rather than states. I think that very few people probably less than 20 will be able to get all the pins due to the limits per state. What do you think?

The way I figure it - tThis quest shouldn't take more than 4 or 5 years, but it's doable.

I thought that I would get 6 CA pins,keep one, trade for NY ,my home state(done) and have 4 up for grabs. Then I saw the flags and said that looks interesting and it grew to 10 pins. I had those traded and went back on Sunday to get 10 more,left 3 on the rack. I wanted a NM and OK. I ordered from OK, NM was sold out. Now looking for FLA, HI,LA and ONT.

We have 20+ state pins coming. I was HOPING to buy around 10 last Saturday. My original intention was to buy extras and trade at WDW. DH is the one who wanted to buy, buy, buy this time. We bought 28 (NE), 9 (IN), 4 (SD) and 4 (IA). I have just a few left. (Except IN -- I have a few promised in trade and none in my hot hands yet.)
We would have bought more NE if we could have on Sunday. (They ran out. )
We are just collecting the states we can. We (at least ME) are not going to make a life's mission out of it.
I keep hoping TDS will restock these. We are having a good time trading. (And will have an even better time receiving, I'm sure! ) DH is helping me keep the trade list straight. 20+ is a lot to trade through the mail in just a few days! (For me anyway!)
I beat my LBE mailing record. I mailed 17 or so on Sunday. Prior to that, my one day LBE mailing record was nine.

I would love to trade for some other states, but our store is so popular with the pins that I was only able to get two state pins.

So how do I trade for 50 states with two of my state pins?

I guess I will pass on this one.

I have checked back at the store each delivery day and they have not received any more pins in. I sure hope they do.

Lauri and I WERE only going to trade for states with meaning to us ... she was born in OH (as was my father) and lived in NJ, I was born in GA. There were probably a few other pins we wanted for one reason or another.

Now, it's a different story. Yesterday I mailed about 17 pins and have a few others pending or ready to mail out. I highly doubt we'll manage the entire set, but it'll be interesting to see how many we get.

Not me. No way. I'm only getting the states that mean something to me (i.e. lived in or have close relatives), such as Florida (obviously), New Jersey, New York, Michigan, Virginia, Missouri, Indiana. Gotta love Mom and Dad for taking care of my home state (MO).

I'm giving it a try. I have 19 states on the way plus my home state. I think it is going to be very,very, hard to get the complete set, but I plan to have fun trying!

that upsets the apple cart So now you know my answer is "NOT ME!". Not a single one. Don't have one, haven't traded for one, have other sets that I have seen coming out that will mean more to me.

I am terribly happy that Disney did something for the out-of-towner/staters though. It is fun seeing so many paople having things that others want. I am enjoying being a spectator this go 'round.

This should be an easy set for you to complete. I was thinking that WDW would be flooded with state pins from well.... everywhere!! I'm holding on to mine just so I can give them to CMs that I meet that are from my home state. OR maybe one day my SC state pin will be as hard to find as MSEP farewell spinner!! hehehehe
Oh by the way... we had several pin traders in the store last night who were all talking about trying to get all the state pins.

I never wanted the whole set. I was figuring on the state we live in (MD) and maybe where I was born (NY). I think my DS#2 wanted one other.

Anyway.... I never even got to my DS until last night, and of course they have none, nada, zero, forget it -- sold out last Saturday.

That has definitely dampened my interest in even getting the few I thought I wanted.

You never know. Maybe one of the pins will come along from somewhere, and I'll change my opinion.
