I received my email yestarday saying

Congratulations!!!!

Disney has waived their right to purchase. This means that the package is officially yours.


(it took less the 20 days)



I have already rented points and will be in Disney from the 25-29 of March staying at AKV.

1. Do you think I will have my info i.e. Member card and package by then?

2. does it make a diffrents if I am checking in with rental points if I am a member or not?

3. Will I have perks by having a membership?

4. If I am staying at the AKL could I go the the movie on the beach, S.M.O.R.S camp fire at BCV or roof top lounge at BLT?

5. How do I find out all of the special events each resorts has?

We are so happy and we can't wait. The kid don't even know yet.

I have gone to Disney a few times but this will be my first as a DVC member and my first in a DVC resort.

Congratulations!!! Your contract should have closed and you members by the time you visit in March. You may not yet have your membership card. You can always stop at SSR and they will give you a temporary one.

If you have that, you would be eligible to get an AP (if interested) with the DVC discount.

Without a membership card, any DVC discounts or perks, would be difficult to get. At check in, you may be given a Portable Perks book that has the current discounts.

Access to the Top of the World Lounge at BLT is currently only for DVC members who are stayint at BLT using their membership. So, even though you are a member, you won't be staying there and won't be allowed in. I have never been to BCV so not sure about the beach campfire, but my assumption is no as that is for resort guests and you are not a resort guest.

As far as checking in as a renter, it won't make a difference that you are now a member. You will be eligible to take advantage of whatever is available to anyone staying at AKV.

I believe you can watch movies on the BCV beach. I did a few years ago before I was a member. No questions asked.

We were just at the BWVs last week and on our activity sheets were the movies at the BC and the campfires. It was too cold for us but I was surprised we could attend. I thought it would only be for the BC.
Congratulations! You will love your membership! We joined in 2008 and just added on to BLT. We absolutely love it and I am sure you will too!
