I am in Shock!

I'm planning on calling Monday 4-17 for a stay from 11-12 to 11-17. Do you think I'll have troubles?? Will some of the whammy be over and folks heading home?

I'm looking for 2 2-bdrooms. First choice will be VWL and after that I'll pretty much take what is available. May waitlist at VWL if unavailable. Haven't ever had to do that before.

You are from New Jersey? I could be wrong but isn't the 2nd weekend the infamous Jersey Week? I tried booking that weekend (while living in Jersey) one year. Not only was it a struggle to get Beach Club the airfare was a killer and never came down.

I looked it up and yes the NJEA teachers convention is that weekend in Atlantic City. So that's your answer. F&W, Super Soap and Jersey Week.

We ended up going last year during Jersey week although we had booked prior to the 7 month window. We were really disappointed with the crowds. We are purposefully avoiding that week this coming fall. I do know we tried switching our ressies for the Oct/Nov timeframe once and had a very very difficult time getting anything we wanted. That time of year has become very difficult to get. We are booked using WVL points at WVL for this coming Nov. but I am going to try to change it at the 7 month window in a few days to a boardwalk view at BWV. I think it's just a pipe-dream at this point.

Yeah, the 7-month point is only a good time to book accommodations at non-home resorts that aren't very popular. For popular accommodations, you really want to book before that point, with home resort privileges.

Wow, quadtruple wammy - gald i dont arrive until the 18th - sounds like Thanksgiving may actually be a slower time than the 2nd weekend
