Well - I hope you all don't mind that I vent on here but I am in a mess - I am sitting here at work in tears (ugh) because EVERYTHING going wrong!

First - I had a credit card with zero balance that I was going to use for our trip - for whatever extra's - well somehow I grabbed the wrong card to "activate" and reactivated an old card and now I am over my credit limit on that card by almost $700 and the website no longer shows my other card - although yesterday it said that the card was inactivated due to lack of activity and that I should get a new card within two weeks -

Then I went to cancel extra hotel rooms that we had booked when we first learned that we were going to be in Orlando an extra day - one room was for $39 - when I tried to cancel it they said there was a cancellation fee of $25 :crazy2:
Then the other room at Nick Hotels has a no cancellation policy because I booked it online!!! WTH???? I have never heard of such a thing - I guess it is my fault for not reading the fine print but I just never ever heard of that!
so now I have a room at POP, a cheap room at a Ramada and a room at Nick Suites and I can't afford any of them! It looks like we are just going to have to cancel POP - which makes me so sad! But I can't believe there is no way to get out of that stupid reservation at Nick - they said I could cancel it for half price but that is like $50+ dollars so then I will be wasting $75 on hotels I can't even use!

And then Allegiant Air said that if it snows and the flights can't go out we may or may not be able to get a different flight!

I don't even want to go to Disney now - I feel sick!

I just seem to keep making stupid mistakes - so depressed -

I'm so sorry, sounds like a terrible spot to be in. How frustrating having 3 hotel rooms! I swear someday you will laugh about this, not now, not in three months, but in a few years when you are planning Disney trip # 10, you will be able to look back at your rookie mistakes and smile. For now, take a deep breath, let everything go for now, and revisit things tomorrow with a clear head. We've all made these kinds of mistakes before, you're not the only one. Hang in there.

Oh no! It's a case of the no good horrible very bad day!!!! I am so sorry that you have all of these frustrations. Have you called the cc company yet to inquire about the two different cards? Maybe you could do a balance transfer etc.? Trying to throw some disney magic your way!

First let me say I'm sorry for the bad day and things that have happened.

Next, take a deep breath. If you haven't already, call the CC company and explain the situation, and see what they can do to help you out. I would probably ask to speak with a supervisor. You would be surprised what CC companies can do.

Then, tackle the hotel issue. If you haven't already contact Nick hotel and see if there is anything they can do. Although it does sound like you have and it is what it is. If I had to choose between the Nick hotel and Ramada, I would pick the Nick, even with the money you will be out. This may not be the trip you had planned, but you need to just go with it.

Everything will be ok, and you will learn things and perhaps help others through what you have gone through.

Don't let these things spoil you trip, you will have a wonderful trippixiedust:

Thank you EVERYONE. .I feel better having you guys to spill to, lol
The credit card company thinks I am insane and says they have no idea what I am talking about. ..and the web no longer shiws the card with a zero balance :(

I would definitely choose the nick over the ramada but DH thinks we should still stay at POP...but it makes me sock to think about throwing away that money...but he says the kids would rather have disney...my thought was maybe we could stay at the nick and still go to disney? Couldn't we still add days to our passes?

So confused and depressed and kicking myself for stupidity....

HOw many days was the Nick hotel booked for? Do you have a rental car? If you do have a rental car I would stay at the Nick hotel. If you don't have a rental I would eat the $75 and stay at POP.

Or maybe you could cancel the car rental if you have one and just use Disney transportation? You could offset the cancellation fees with the money spent from not having a car.

We only booked the nick for our last day there...one night...we don't have a rental car yet but we have to get one because there is no transportation from our airport to disney that doesn't cost less tahn $100 each way...and it is $240 for the rental car for the whole stay...ugh...I wish I could just start all ovee

I'm sorry you are having a bad day, OP, but I'm a little confused. Your post sounded like you wanted to activate the credit card for incidentals that could come up during your trip. If that's the case, how did you get to be $700 over your limit before your trip? I must be misunderstanding something.

Do you still have the other card - the one you meant to activate? If you give the credit card company the card #, they should be able to find your other account. Also, did you ask if they could raise your limit on the other card?

You're staying at Pop, then Nick, but where does Ramada fit in? If you pay the cancellation fee, you'll at least get $14 back, right? That's better than nothing.

I wouldn't worry about the weather, since it's out of your control. Watch the weather in the days leading up to your trip. Sometimes, if the weather is going to be bad and the airline anticipates cancelling your flight, they may let you get on a flight the day before. Did they say what happens if your flight is cancelled due to snow? Do they give you a refund? Or a credit for a future flight?

Don't beat yourself up about it. We all have made mistakes like this. Just chalk it up to a lesson learned and always read the fine print in the future.

It is confusing, lol...the first card expired and they sent me a new one like a year ago...when they sent me the new one. Online I had the old account with a balance and a new account with a zero balance....so when I activated the new one I charged the airline tockwts and the extra hotel rooms...thwn I went to use it for something else and it got declined. ..when I went online to see what happened..the old expired account had increase and gone up to $700 ober my limit and the other account didn't show up but it said the account had been deactivated due to no activity and to expect a new card In two weeks...so I went to call them today but that message was gone and they said they ha e no record of what I am talking about.. I have to check if there is another card but I do t think so. ..I keep them in a safe at my parents house....

For.the hotels when we first got the flights I just booked the ramada as a cheap room to stay at the days we were gonna be there extra then my boss said to stay at the nick so I booked that room figuring I would jusy cancel the ramada ...then my husband said just get a room at Disney ...so that's how I ended up with all those rooms and now all the cancellation fees :*( if I cancel.the ramada which was $44...I have to pay a $25 cancel fee.
..thw nick is a $70 cancel fee. ..

If the flight is cancelled due to snow...we will get a voucher but then we will be stuck in NH with no extra monwy the day before we r due to check in

I really messed this up

I get it now. Thanks for clarifying.

Cancelling the Ramada will at least give you a little money back, so that's what I would do. I'd keep POP the way it is and probably keep Nick since you need a place to stay and it's only one night.

The flight is tricky, but that's a risk we all run by flying in the winter. Hopefully the weather will cooperate and, if it doesn't, hopefully you will have enough advance notice and not have to make the trip to NH only to be stranded there.

I hope everything works out for you. Please keep us posted and cut yourself some slack. We've all made mistakes like that at one time or another. :grouphug:

What website did you use to book the Nick hotel? I just went to their website and went through the steps to book a room for November 14th (just to see what the cancellation policy is), and the cancellation policy says...

Cancellation: after November 11th, 2013 4:00 PM (hotel time) will result in a charge of 1 night(s) stay.

Guarantee: A deposit of one night's room and tax will be collected from credit card 72hrs prior to arrival.

Did you book through a different website where you already had to prepay for your room?

Thanks! But POP and Nick r for the same night. ..do u think I should stick woth POP do be on-site and pay the penalty at Nick? I am soo at a loss

BTW you guys have made me feel a ton better! Learning from experience. ..wosh I hadnt jumped so fast and waited to think things through when we decided to fly

I'm confused again. Do you have POP reserved for the main part of your trip and then both POP and Nick for the last night? Or are you staying somewhere else for the main part of your trip and you have to choose between POP & Nick for the last "extra" night? If it's the latter, I'd probably stay at Nick if you truly can't cancel. However, I'd call Nick if you haven't already and ask about their cancellation policy. As another poster just pointed out, the Nick website doesn't mention anything about not being able to cancel.

I remember your other post-if you are taking Dh I would reduce as much "stress" as possible. Changing hotels after you arrive-can be quite stressful. There is no way I would stay at the Nick hotel. Even if you get a clean room-it will be anything but relaxing.

If you cancel Nick, you'll be on site at Pop and be able to use Magical Express each way. Magical Express is free for resort guests (you mentioned there was no transportation for less than $100 each way - not true and good news for you). No need for a rental car. If this is your first family trip, make it easy on yourself and just stay on site this time.

I'd just cancel Nick and chalk it up to stupid tax. We've all paid it. Fix it and move forward.

She's not flying into MCO - that's why she needs to pay for transportation.
