I picked up Mickey and Princess 12x12 papers and dimensional stickers months ago in anticipation of our trip. I also bought 2 6x6 albums, thinking I was going to let make one for DD15 and one for the 8yo girl who went on vacation with us. I've since changed my mind and will use the albums myself rather than a 12x12 scrapbook. I don't have a dollar figure for what I've spent so far on papers and stickers and the two albums, probably $50-$75.

Our trip is now abut a memory and I'm so anxious to start scrapping it. My photos should be coming from Snapfish in a day or two...all 307 of them! :faint:

Rag Shop has stickers on sale at 30% off and 8.5x11 solid paper 10/$1.00 so I made an $18 purchase this past weekend on quite a bit of those items. Tonight I had to go to AC Moore because I now needed Pooh papers to go with the Pooh stickers I got over the weekend to complement the pictures we took at WDW. pooh: I spent another $30 on two more 6x6 albums (I now have four different colors and will use one for each park I think), 4 or 5 sheets of Pooh papers, adhesives, an eyelet setter and brads.

I'm looking forward to trimming the 12x12 papers in quarters to fit the 6x6 albums and cropping the photos and laying them out over the course of the next few weeks (months?). I know I'm not nearly done gathering supplies. :artist: I would love to get a Sizzix or something for lettering, but that is not in the budget *maybe I could ask :santa:. That most likely means more stickers!

Tell me about it!

Every time I go near a scrapbooking store, I might as well stub out a check for at least $20 - and that's if I don't have an active project. ;)

I recently saw a tee shirt:
"I scrapbook therefore I am . . . BROKE"

It's the truth, it can be an expensive hobby. I tend to buy paper only on sale. JoAnne Fabric often has the 12x12 .59 cent paper at 4 for a $1 and one time I was able to get it at .11 cents a sheet. I also got a $12 album for $5. I try to only buy embellishments (ribbon, brads, etc.) on sale or when there's a coupon. I avoid the LSS unless I have extra money because I know I'll go nuts in there, then you get to the check out and think "what did I get for $35?"

I hear your pain. With all the supplies I have, I could open a scrapbook store. I will seldom pass a sale item by and always buy things ahead of a trip. Right now, I've been buying patriotic things to go with my 2007 trip scheduled to Williamsburg/Jamestown Virginia. I have tons and tons of Disney stuff with no trip on the horizon, as well as loads of leftovers from overbuying from my last two trips.

Scrapbooking supplies - it's a disease with no cure in sight. Actually, the only way I can usually quit tempting myself is not to shop where they have any scrapbooking things for sale. I went to Old Time Pottery the other week, thinking I would be okay, but no, they too have a scrapbook aisle...

I have got to stop shopping..... but on the other hand being DVC members I know I will eventually use all the disney stuff I have. Plus swaps hehehe. It is expensive but I look at it this way. It gives me a craft to do for my creative outlet and saves pictures that would normally be all over the walls (in frames, which cost money and collect dust!!!) or in an album where at least they are in one place. So for me it combines to expenditures. Anyway... we are all going broke with you!

Yes, I keep thinking I'm the only person in the world who pays as much to scrap her Disney trip as to TAKE a Disney trip! (But I guess I've got a lot of company here, right?!) ;)

I have so many sheets of paper! I havne't bought any disney stickers or decorative elements yet I'm waiting until it gets closer to our trip then I'll also buy some more disney paper. Usually I buy the stack packs at Joann's and then throw a few themed papers into the mix. My number one addiction is knitting you don't even want to see how much yarn I have!

You'll have to watch out azgal, or you will wind up with stuff for both hobbies piled everywhere. ;) I cross stitch, so I have lots of stuff stockpiled and two projects going. I also sew, but I need specific projects - right now its our costumes for MNSSHP this October. Add in the scrapping stuff and my house is overrun. DH is an architect, and I keep telling him to seriously expand the square footage of the house we are planning. I need STORAGE!!!!! :lmao:

A fairly new scrapper but I'm accumulating stuff! Then I have boxes w/beading supplies too. I move one craft off the table to work on the other!

:thumbsup2 my dd12 and I have been shopping for about 6 months for our supplies our trip is coming soon in Sept. but the catch is we never pay full price always use a 40% off coupon then it's not so bad...... :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Further proof. :badpc:

I got A.C. Moore's email this morning with the week's ad starting 7/19. 40% off stickers and scrapbooking papers! Of course I had to go shopping. :woohoo:

I spent $21.33 on 2 12x12 refills that were 2 for $3.00, 4 Book Sox (2 for $1.00), stickers and some papers. I'd already picked up most of the Disney papers at full price - really annoyed that I got the Pooh papers a week ago at $1 per piece. :guilty:

I spent $21 yesterday at Rag Shop for a Cutterpede (used 40% off coupon) and 2 12x12 albums that were on sale 2 for $7.00.

I think I'm set for now. It's time to start cropping and laying out.

Well, I bought a die cutter this week (craft robo) and it is the coolest thing ever (anybody want to buy a barely used Sidekick??? :rotfl: ).

The problem is that now I am craving a Xyron so I can put adhesive on the back of my stuff!

Whew!

I'd take your Sidekick, but at this time I can't fathom the thought of the cost of purchasing the alphabets.

Oddly enough, I said that very thing today to the girl working in our scrapbooking store!

I said I won't have any room for pictures in the scrapbook with all the embellishments that I bought!

She said that was okay because the stickers and stuff are so cute!

Who can argue with that logic!? :confused3

That was actually what made me decide to buy the Craft Robo. I had one set of alphabets, but wanted different kinds. I realized that I was soon going to have the same amount of money invested in a slow and limited system. So I quit while I was "ahead" ;) and got my die cutter.

That's the realization I came to also. I have a sizzix and have stopped purchasing dies (I don't have too many). I am going to see if one of my scrap buds wants to buy it.

There is no doubt that scrapbooking is an expensive hobby, however, I personally get so much joy when my DS15 (that's right, 15 year old boy!) sits down and looks through the scrapbooks and recalls so many highlights of his childhood. It's a creative outlet for posterity. There are so many other ways that we all spend money with no where near that type of reward. Just enjoy!
