I have been a satillite subscriber for about 6 yrs now. I have been wanting a Tivo type system, and have been looking for a good deal, but havent been able to find one...

Well I am making the switch to cable.. On Friday, they are coming out to install 3 digital cable boxes, and one DVR system to me...I am sooooo excited. Now I just need to learn how to program it..LOL..

Anyone else make a switch to Tivo/DVR and glad....or mad :)

My DH said that are just starting to offer the DVR in some of the Florida markets-he works for a cable company.

Let me know how you like it after a while.

Are they giving you a package deal?:D

We loved our TiVo so much we just bought another! :)

Compared to the services that the cable companies are beginning to offer, it is hands down better; user-interface, pricing, etc.

We got a DVR a month ago here in Fla. It costs no more per month than our Digital Cable box!

We love it!

The only problem we're having (only in the past week) is that the sound tracks have been off on some of the shows we tape. It is really annoying to see people talking "out of sync" with their voices.

We have all of our favorite shows set to tape "Entire Series" and then when we're out, or busy, the show still "tapes" Every morning we get up and see what taped overnight. Sometimes we are pleasantly surprised.

Of course, now Ted watches all the "geek" shows regularly!
