I am FREAKING OUT about the Ticketmaster tickets!

Hmm.
I bought 2, 2-day, 2 park tickets from TicketMaster earlier this year. We had originally planned to go to US/IOA in August, but our plans changed.

I phoned Universal to see about an expiration date, and they told me to fax a phototcopy of the tickets. I did, and a rep from Universal called back to tell me the tickets DO NOT expire. I really hope they honor our tickets next year! :scared1:

If you faxed a copy of your tickets and guest services said they were OK, then you will be fine. Don't worry. They type in or scan the barcode of the tickets and it tells about any expiration.

Reading this thread, I realized that I was in the same boat with the other posters. I purchased a 2-day/2-park Universal Orlando ticket via Ticketmaster last April for a planned summertime trip. That trip got pushed back to January 2010 for personal reasons. Now I'm wondering whether that ticket has expired, even though neither the ticket nor the purchase receipt made any mention of an expiration date. I also do not recall seeing such a date on the website during the purchase process. So this is what customer service has come to these days -- enforcing a secret expiration date on an unused admission ticket. Sigh....

Time to get on the phone and see what happens, I guess. :headache:

They won't be able to tell you on the phone. They will ask you to fax a copy of your tickets to them. Then they will let you know. Hope all is well!

I spoke to a UO customer service rep earlier this afternoon. He stated that unused tickets do not have any "secret" expiration date coded on them. I asked if he was sure that this applied to admission tickets purchased from Ticketmaster, and he said without hesitation that it did. So...there ya go. Based on my prior dealings with huge corporations, I'd estimate that my chances of getting in this month are about 50-50. :rolleyes1

I wouldn't worry one iota. Even, if by chance, the Ticketmaster tickets had an expiration, Guest Services will make it right for you. The only tickets that they would not honor would be the free tickets like the SuperBowl giveaway, team member comp tickets, other types of comp tickets or other free tickets with expirations, or tickets that have been used. The comp tickets with expirations have the expiration date printed on the tickets. Since you purchased your tickets and have not used them, they will be fine.

I suppose so. Thus far I have not seen any postings, here or elsewhere, about people presenting unused admission tickets to UO and being denied entrance. I did note that my Ticketmaster order history references that "12-31-09" event date, but it seems to me that this date probably just functions as a record-keeping placeholder for data purposes. UO is open 365 days and there isn't any specific "event date" associated with it, of course.

Anyway, assuming the "free internet" is working at the Rodeway Inn I-Drive, I'll post the outcome a little over 3 weeks from today. :surfweb:

Working at Guest services, I have seen those tickets many times. I am almost 100 percent sure that you won't have any problems.

Just as an FYI...we used those tickets in Nov. and park-hopping was no problem.:goodvibes

Is there a way to find out if I still have a day left on my old 2day/2park pass? Thanks

The only way is to fax Guest services with a copy of the back of the tickets. You can call them at 407-224-4233, choose option 2 to speak to a Guest Service Coordinator. He/she will tell you where to fax a copy of the tickets.
