Just incase anyone was worried or wondering. I am fine. I left the arena a few minutes before the tornado hit the Philips Arena/Georgia Dome area.

OMG, I am so glad that you are ok! We have had the tv off tonight, so I had no idea that it had happened down there. I just went to 11alive.com and the reports are rather scary. Wow, again, I am so glad that you are ok!

yeah. I work right between the Dome and the CNN Center.
SOOOO glad I took the subway today, otherwise I would have been right there where the damage is the most.

Wow, glad to hear your OK!:thumbsup2

Had now idea! I just got home from work, and put on Fox news, but they are way too fair and balanced to actually report on any "news".

How bad is the damage?

Damage to CNN, the Dome, and alot of the Hotels. Glass everywhere. Water main break inside the World Congress Center. Some minor damage to Philips arena were I work.

Thousands of people were in that area due to the Hawks game, Events at the Congress Center, and mostly the SEC Basketball tournament.

Luckily the reports are all minor injuries

I am glad I took the subway today, otherwise I would have been on the street that had the most damage at the time of the storm.

I just read the article on CNN's website. Stay safe - it looks like there might be more bad weather today.

OMG -- didn't know anything about this till I checked Google this morning. So glad you're OK. Just thinking about all that glass gives me the willies.

Had quite a little experience at the GA dome last year!

It started to storm outside, and the roof sprung a leek!:scared1:

It was a pretty scary few moments!

First time a drum corps show in a domed stadium had a rain delay!:rotfl2:

This is some of the damage from the area I worked at last night. Had I driven this was the street I would have driven on just about 5 minutes before

This is one of the lobbies from the Georgia World Congress Center (the large convention center in town). Glass from hotels and other buildings is all over the place.

Here is one of Centennial Olympic Park (a block away from where I work). That large structure on the ground is suppose to be standing like the ones in the background.

The SEC tournament has been moved to another location, the St Patty's Day parade as well as convention at the Congress Center have been canceled due to the damage downtown. Another serious set of storms has come through the area today, but it has passed just to the north of my apartment, but I have heard there have been fatalites and tornados again.

Wow!! I am glad to hear you are ok!

Sorry I'm coming in so late.

Thank you so much for letting us know you are ok. Providence eh? Thank heaven you took the subway!

Thank you for the photos. They really tell the story, don't they?

Wow! Mother Nature truly is a force to be reckoned with. Glad that you are ok. I'm sure things will be hectic the next few days...be well and check in with us! :grouphug:

Glad to hear you are okay  . That is definitely the type of excitment one can do w/o in their lives!
