I'm a little late to this thread, but I am feeling to urge to play slots for a Halloween booking this fall. 7-month window is almost here. I'm currently attempting a 7-month walk to secure 3 nights in a BLT preferred view 1 BR - probably don't need to do it as every day is open between now and the 3 nights I want, but figured a walk will make it easier to start securing those rooms 7 days out, rather than waiting until 8 am exactly 7 months out.

But, I keep thinking to myself, maybe I should try for one of the resort view 1 BRs and save 16 points. All 3 of my nights are currently booked, but 7 months is long time to try and piece together 3 nights through waitlisting and stalking. Maybe some of those current reservations are placeholders for BLT owners who are planning to switch out.

I'm honestly not sure I want resort view over preferred view, but I sort of feel a little bored not having a reason to get on and stalk the website . It is addictive!

I've been looking a few times a day for about a month now. I just need one night in a specific studio. Not even at the 7 month mark yet. But nothing. Do you think I'll have more luck closer to the check in date?

I think it depends on what I'm trying to get, how far out it is, and how much I need/want it.

For adding 1 night onto an existing 7-night CCV 1 BR stay where my waitlist was set to end 7 days before check-in? I started off with just occasional stalking but was stalking like crazy towards the end. I was taking screen shots of the entire month of availability every time I checked just to see if there was other movement close to my date that might indicate my WL was going to come through. But, alas, it was not to be. Ended up with 1-night at SSR instead at the end of our trip, which ended up quite nice actually.

For a remixed June trip a little more than 4 months out where I was suddenly switching from a RIV 1 BR resort view to a RIV 2 BR lock-off preferred view and was missing 2 non-consecutive days? I was stalking at least 2-3 times a day. Figured it was going to come through, but wasn't too worried about it. Ended up stumbling upon the room being available before the WL was filled.

I think the further out it is and the more likely I think it is to come through, the less crazy I would be about stalking. But, don't think I could resist from checking at least a few times every day.

If I am at home doing other things on my computer I have the site pulled up in the background and I will toggle back and refresh probably every 15 min or so.

I also usually have disboards pulled up in the background and I often refresh that just as often. (I have a problem)

When not sitting at my desk I will check every couple hours or so.

still looking for BWV? so happy you were able to snag some of your nights!! and I totally agree about inventory coming and going. It's crazy how much it fluctuates! I was just browsing for our dates in Sept ...a 2BD standard at RIV popped up for the 3 nights we are at PIT before we move to that room type at RIV ...debated switching so we don't have to split stay, but ultimately really want to try both resorts!

Keep pit! It is hard to get and the rooms are gorgeous!! Was just thinking about how much i miss it, what room type are you in?

I know the feeling Like what am I supposed to do now after trying so hard at the slots for days.

So at blt ive always booked preferred in hopes of getting a tpv because a lot of them do have fireworks view shoot even some resort views do but I haven't tried that yet. To me 16 points is worth that balcony fireworks view esp for the first time and if not the lake view of the electrical pageant is great too.

Nothing like fireworks from your balcony with the music piped in and watching in your pajamas with your family and not having to deal with crowds or rude ppl I have yet to stay in a one bedroom yet and cant wait for that!

2-3 months out has been pretty great

My stalking style is to just act like its my job to stalk and book reservations for a living and for like 8 hours a day ill just refresh non stop and see what hits. I literally just go to my room and cant be bothered with anything else I am laser focused on something hitting
