I am broke but I need a WDW fix

You are most welcome! :)

There is a topic, regarding crock pot recipes, that I came across, that is on the budget boards, if memory is serving me correctly.
Maybe you can shop at Target once a week or twice a month or once a month, and stock up on what is needed, that way you can save money on gas.
Target also mails out every so often, target coupons. You can also go to target.com, and sign up for their weekly email shopping/sales newsletter, it is available each sunday, and of course you can shop target online as well.
When is your trip planned for? for hopefully by the time you are ready to leave, you will have everything perfectly in place.
Where I live, I am @12 miles from Target in either direction, then there is another Target store a few miles further north, none of them are Super Targets though! I am really very disappointed about that!

If there are 6 of you going that means you can check 6 bags. I would think putting your food items in a checked bag would be better than trying to get a bunch of carry-ons through security, especially since you mentioned things like applesauce and peanut butter. We are a family of 5, but this trip we are bringing a friend of one of the boys, so we'll be traveling as a family of 6. We plan to only need 3 checked suitcases.I don't know how old your kids are but the ones I will have will be 14, 15, 17 & 19 so basically everyone going is adult sized and has adult sized clothes. We have a washer and dryer where we are staying so we don't bring clothes for every day, we only bring 3-4 outfits in addition to what we wear down, plus extra shoes, I am on home dialysis so there are some medical supplies that we have to pack (the big stuff gets shipped directly from the medical supply place). We hope to be able to fit some snacks and stuff in our 3 suitcases, if not we will bring a 4th and spread things out a little thinner. We will still have several carry-ons, my dialysis machine and my backpack, hubbys laptop, and a small suitcase full of camera equipment, then each boy will have his own carryon - video games, books, whatever. If we decide 4 suitcases is too many but 3 is not enough we can use a small carryon for some of the overflow.

What are the places that you are earning Disney dollars and rainforest certificates from? It sounds interesting. Also you mentioned you have a pogo pepsi cap. Just remember that Disney is a coke park so you'd have to get that off property. I don't know if you can use bogo caps at the parks anyway if they are coke caps...hmmmmm

I know it will be hot when you are there, but sometimes you still want a hot meal, especially once you are back in the air conditioning. Back when the boys were in scouts we went on a camp out (I am NOT a camping person!) and one of our suppers was chilli - It was hot and muggy, and we were smelly and sticky - but that hot chili was really good. The Scout leader was telling us that when you are hot on the outside that eating hot food warms you up on the inside and evens out your body temperature. :confused3 i always though the guy was full of it (not just about that - he liked to be an "expert" on a lot of stuff.....except how to hold a job, but that's a different story!) but the chili did hit the spot. Personally, I don't cook chili at home until the leaves start to change - but that's just me! Maybe you can do some multi-use meals - like make a roast, or turkey breast or something early in the week, then grind it in to sandwich spread later in the week. That was always an after Thanksgiving thing - mom would grind the leftover turkey into the meat grinder and we would have turkey salad sandwiches. i don't know what your condo would have available to grind it up with though. At home when I make a pot of chili, once there isn't enough left for everybody to eat anymore I will throw the rest of the chili in with some cooked macaroni and have chili mac, or use it on hot dogs for chili dogs.

Most importantly - Enjoy your trip!!

Thank so much!!!:lovestruc

well out 0f the 6 bags allowed I have 2 booster seats so that means 4 bags for 6 people. I do laundry all the time in our condo:laundy: . I do pack 4 outfits to and bring 2 pairs of shoes.. now I bring 10 free laundry soap samples to :woohoo:

I normally do not bring carry on luggage except for the l ones. So now we all will have a carry on. I will check in the food. I also can not bring a lot of suit cases because I will have no room in the trunk..
I will use my pepsi bogo at the wal mart.. Thanks for the good Chilli advice:idea:

OMG! please not walmart! ugh! :(
but if you must, I will not hold it against you. Target needs to build a store in your town or closer to you, but again, 15 miles really is not all that bad, just a few more from where I live. :)

How is everything coming along? I find it tricky sometimes to find good free sample offers, for so many of them, have strings attached, if anyone has a good freebie source, please share :)

also my tip is to swap freebeeis.. ex I sign my mom up for the same things as I do. If she dose not like it she will give it to me and I also do the same for her..

ok now my dad might come with us:cloud9: which would be great because I am a total daddys girl and he loves DISNEY

but I might have to purchase his ticket.. I am sure dh will give me some money towards his ticket, but I do no he will say" You have money take it out of your Disney money:eek: " Blah.. blah..:listen: ect

anyway I have managed to save an extra 60$ which I could use to buy my dad his airfair, but I will need more. Also I dont know if I should grab it now or wait:scared1: I am buying his airfair because he will have to rent a car now due to not enough room for all of us..

also some hopefull news my bzz agent points are being turned to mypoints which gives me enough for 2 Rainforrest gift cards:woohoo: and 1 more gift card for 25$ and I also will have earned 25$ by july. So that will give me 50$ worth of possible fift cards:cloud9:

also if my dad dose come he will give me money towards food but I might have to cook more??

Apart from added expenses, things are coming along nicely it sounds to be. Yeah! to the rain forest gift cards, and to adding more value to your others as well! :)
I wish people that I drop hints to, or just tell outright, regarding gifts, that I would love to have a Target card, or Macy's, would listen better! ;)of course in the event of DL trips Target is preferred, or gift cards for grocery stores would be great too, I would still rather prefer Target though of course, especially if I will have an opportunity to shop at a SuperTarget store, I could have a field day in one of those stores!

I know exactly what you mean regarding gift cards as gifts. My mother hates giving money or gift cards she would rather buy "stuff". It doesn't matter what the stuff is, or whether anyone likes it, wants it, or will use it, she'd rather give stuff than cards. She did finally break down this year an buy my oldest a McDonalds gift card because she just didn't know what else to get - I had been pushing McD's and Starbucks cards on her all shopping season because that is what he spends his money on. I have 3 kids - her only grandkids, and she tried to keep things even when she buys for them, but she doesn't keep track of what she's bought until she goes to wrap it that's when she realized she was "short" for Sean. I got some Christmas dishtowels and potholders this year because she just didn't know what to get. :confused3

I'm subscribing so as not to lose your ptr again. I enjoy hearing how you save money. Because of you, I actually started collecting cans for my trip next year. About how big a bag to you take to the recycle place and how much money do you usually get in return? Just trying to figure things out, you know? Keep up the good work.:thumbsup2

Now once I did receive a pet store gift card, I love those too, however apart from that..........still waiting........can't wait until I have a job, so I can buy myself a Target gift card! ;) he! he!

When it comes to recycling, find out exactly where the closest recycle yards are, then call unless you have found out positively already, regarding the price for aluminum for example, for the county that I live in, I know by reputation that one recycle yard, does not pay as well as another company does. So believe it or not, even recyclables, is like gold, for the value to be paid, really does depend upon the company.

Oh and YEAH! For subscribing, this is an interesting and fun topic to read about and to post to. And I am glad that my wm reference did not get me killed! ;) now forget I mentioned it! ;) :)

You just described my mom!!!! My mom hates to give gift cards, but she also hates shopping (unless it's jewelry or tiffany lamps from HSN - She's addicted to HSN!! Oh and Marshalls!) She will always come to me asking what I want or what everyone else wants - I am the one who keeps track of that stuff.
I keep a wishlist on wishcentral.com for everyone. Because she hates shopping, she gives me the money to go get gifts for her to give. For DH's Bday she gace me $150 to get him something. I picked up $150 Disney Dollars to go towards out Hoop Dee Doo Revue - something he wants to do but was worried we could not afford. So waa-laa! she gave him tickets to a dinne show for the fam. She got upset with me because it was Disney dollars, her arguement was she could have just given him real cash instead.
Which is something she rather do than a gift card. Ummm if it's a gift card the person wants, isn't it the same thing???

I like your way of thinking:smooth: haveing you mom buy dh a present that would work for Disney!! I do the same:ssst: I am buying my fil and my dad entertainment books for fathers day this will earn me 1500 points on mypoints. and I am buying dh a Net Flix which will earn me 1,000 so that will give me 2500 points which I can earn a gift card :dance3:

i LOVE ny points

This one bag check is really stressing me out. I need advice:teacher: . Should I ship a bunch of my stuff to our condo? Or should I just buy it there? If I buy it there I will have to put more money on my walmart gift card for food:rolleyes1 which I could take out of our weekly food money.. By takeing the snacks for our trip(that I have hid) and placeing them in the cubbards..

But then I have to buy 2 jellys 2 penutbutters and I cant live with out the Oxy Clean. Also then I have to buy laundry soap, mayo mustard, salad dressing.. uhh I am stressed

I just do not know what to do. Let me tell you I really dread food shopping with the family:mic: :hyper2: :clown:  :hourglass ahh what a pain.. They are all going to want to come...maybe I could sneak out..

I agree, gift cards are like cash, cash is best still, of course. Whenever someone wants to give me cash as a gift, which is extremely rare mind you, I am more than happy to accept it, better than anything else, unless of course it is something that you specifically requested, different story then.

Why not not bring along one bag with light weight food stuffs, then when at your condo, order from one of the grocery store delievers. That way, you don't have to have everyone with you, driving you nuts, with everything from is this what you want? to this is what I want! not that! I hate that! I won't eat that! you eat that! if we had a dog, even he would not eat that! ;) to stop throwing stuff into my cart, I have a tight budget here! unless you want to contribute money for the groceries! definitely order groceries from your condo! I believe that is the best thing to do. You can always go to a store afterwards, to buy anything that you might have run out of, or forgot to add, or if you just feel like going and doing some shopping, etc. :)
